Rik threw his shoulder up right after 2! Sure there was work done to his neck, but he was still strong.

Though Salem was surprised that Rik was still able to shoulder up following the series of attacks on his neck, the fans cheered with the knowledge that the match was to continue on between this pair of exciting performers. Standing back up, Salem would reach down to grasp Rik by the arm and pull him up, The Deuce looking to pull his opponent towards the nearest corner with a standing rear chinlock!

Rik was put in the Chinlock, starting to feel even more pressure on his neck, putting his hand on Salem's arm trying to seperate it from his neck to remove some pressure from the hold.

Salem could feel Rik trying to fend off the chinlock as they moved backward towards the turnbuckle, but by the time his opponent had gotten some separation they were already near the corner! Seizing Rik's grasping hand, the "Most Wanted Man in Wrestling" would try to whip Rik around and into the corner before jumping into him for a forearm across the face!

Rik got caught into the corner, and was hit with the forearm in the face! The forearm causing his head to snap back, his neck extended backwards before being whip lashed forward. He started to stumble forward, his eyes glazed over, and his neck still hurting.

Salem was stunning both the crowd and Rik with his flurry of offensive maneuvers, managing to catch his opponent off-guard with a jaw-rattling forearm smash into the corner! Visibly dazed, Rik stumbled forward a couple steps, giving Salem all the room he needed to spring up onto the second turnbuckle before jumping backward...looking to land with his legs across Rik's collar to hook him forward and into a Frankensteiner by surprise!

Rik was still dazed from the flurry of offensive maneuvers. He was gaining his composure, right up until Salem jumped onto his shoulders. Normally he would have the strength to keep his ground, but after being rattled, his legs were wobbly and he was taken in the Frankensteiner! Rik landed flat on his back, staring up at the lights. He was in trouble, and he knew he had to get back off and turn defense into offense, or he would be done for!

Salem had captivated the crowd with his aerial maneuver, but it was hardly his intent to posture with Rik reeling on his back following the Frankensteiner. Swiftly slipping to the canvas, the M.W. Deuce attempted to cover Rik once more, this time hooking the leg with hopes of adding more leverage for the wounded warrior to push through if he were to break the second cover attempt!

The ref was on the way up as Rik threw his shoulder up, he was still conscious, and was taking his breath in, trying to stay alive, while moving to his stomach.

Salem slapped the mat in frustration as he only came up with a near-fall, swiveling his hips to swing his legs around and back to a planted position, enabling the M.W. Deuce to stand up once more. Clapping his hands together, Salem inspired many in the crowd to follow suit before he had the entire arena rallied into a chorus of closing hands, Salem himself watching for Rik to start stirring before he made any further move!

Rik Rip'em was on his stomach, his back to Salem, still breathing to keep the oxygen and energy going through his body. He got to one knee, as the crowd was still on their feet for Salem, awaiting for his next move, Rip'em still breathing heavily. He finally got to one foot, and pushed hard off it onto both feet, before dropping to his knee again! The crowd was eating it up, before Rip'em finally stood up to both feet, turning around slowly to Salem.

Something in Salem brought out a smile as Rik stood up and turned around, appearing almost glad that his opponent still had life left in him. It would've been too easy for the match to have ended right there, so perhaps the thrill of a more promising challenge was inspiring both men to keep pushing forward! With a nod of respect, Salem offered his hands up, proposing the pair tie-up and grapple for the crowd, who continued to clap and cheer for their showcase of courage!

Rik saw Salem's hands go up, and flinched, stumbling back to his knee really quickly before getting back to his feet, backing to the ropes and finally had gotten his ground and slowed down. His eyes during that were of a "Oh s**t" type look. Now that he's seen what Salem was doing, the soldier had nodded, and put his hands up, accepting the tie-up, restarting the match just about. But this time he stayed in it, not trying to expend energy, awaiting for Salem to do something.

No sooner had Rik accepted the lock-up would Salem jerk back with his right arm, trying to bring his opponent's shoulders to a tilt and draw the lad in close for a headlock! His back to Rik's shoulder, Salem tried to wrench the move in tight and apply pressure to his challenger's neck once again, continuing to try and put leverage on Rik's head!

Rik all of a sudden was put right into the headlock, simple, but at this point in the match after the beating he has taken. He had to turn things around though, especially after Salem allowed him back in the match! Rik bent his knees to get under Salem, and went for a Back Suplex!
