When he handed her the flower, she actually smiled a little. After twirling it a few times in her fingers and then smelling it, she tucked it into the base of one of her pigtails. "Of course I respect you. I said that already. I think I might even like you. You know what you're talking about, more than most people at least. I don't understand you at all, though."
That was okay. Things were better now, actually. Instead of being hostile it was just faintly awkward. "I think I'm going to go." It wasn't like there was anything around to fight, anyway, and she didn't trust herself not to say something stupid again. After a few seconds of walking away, she turned around and curtsied. "Goodbye, Thraen. It was nice to meet you." This time, her sugary smile had a bit of genuine warmth.
