Kyllian couldn't stop smiling despite his tears. He laughed and hugged, cried some more and just generally bounced. This was the day he had waited for ever since finding Chloe all those weeks ago! He had dreamed, hoped...
"You were gone for a long time, Kole..." Kyllian sighed and brushed his hand in Kole's hair with a little softer smile. "It doesn't matter though, not since you're okay and here." Reaching down, he grabbed his friends hand, and pulled him into the house towards the stairs. "Come on, there's something I want to show you!"

A long time? Was it really? What had he been doing for so long? Why had Kyllian changed so much more quickly? Kyllian had been a pokemon when they'd last...
Kole giggled and gently nudged his head against Kyllian's hand. His friend was right. They'd found each other again. They were okay.
With smile stuck in place, he stumbled a bit before finding his feet, hurrying along with Kyllian. It was a relief to be getting off the street... but the relief washed away with awe as his wide eyes explored what he was rushing by. "So you really live here?" He couldn't let the humans bother him right now. He once again had the security of his friendship. The world was right again.

"Yep, it's all mine!" Kyllian swept his arms in the air, doing a little spin with a big grin. It came with a price, but at least he had some place warm. "It still needs a lot of work, like furniture and paint, but I'm working on it!" In fact, most of the furniture on the first floor were crafted from crates, scrap metal and pipes. It was all functional, if not the most glamorous.
He took to the stairs, which now had little groves thanks to his clawed feet, and stopped when he got to the second floor landing. "Wait, wait! Close your eyes, it has to be a surprise. You can take my hand if you want, so you want hit any walls." Kyllian held out his palm, eagerly awaiting what was to come.

Kole smiled brightly. This place was so cool! Something told him that the current furniture wasn't normal, but that didn't matter. Kyllian had chosen it, so it must be right!
Treading the steps carefully, he hesitated only a moment with a curious look to his friend before closing his eyes and holding out his hand to take Kyllian's. Not many would get such trust from him. "Okay. They're closed." Something that was a surprise? How exciting!

Kyllian grinned as bright as the sun itself as he took Kole's hand. "You're going to like it a lot, trust me." Well, he hoped he would, anyway! Leading him around a little curve around the top of the steps, Kylliant opened the door to one of the empty bedrooms.
Inside the walls had been painted a darker bluish-grey like the sky at night with sloppy stars painted on the ceiling. Green grass and pumpkins with curling vines had been painted on the walls as well, along with a bright moon. It had potential, but as it had been done by Kyllian himself with no help whatsoever there were more than a few mistakes. The most obvious would be the paint splatters on the floor.
The windows had black curtains to block out the sun, and the only piece of furniture was a bed that Hewitt had purchased for Kyllian. It hadn't been to his fancy; too soft, and a dark wood frame, but he thought Kole might like it instead.
What he was MOST proud of though was the orange painted metal letters hanging on one wall that spelled 'KOLE'. They didn't match, nor were their sizes similar, but it helped to let him know that Kole was coming home some day.
"Okay, you can open your eyes!"

Quite pleased that he hadn't tripped and fallen, he was practically trembling with anticipation. A surprise that he would like! What could it be?!
When he was given permission, his eyes popped open, and widened in shock. "A room.. for me?" What else could it be?! It looked like the best pumpkin patch ever! He leapt into the room for a closer look. Stars on the ceiling! The stuff to block the sun! His own bed to sleep on! Could that be his name hanging on the wall?!
He felt his eyes burn slightly. ..Kyllian had been waiting for him. Kyllian hadn't given up on him even though he'd apparently been gone for a long time...
Spinning, Kole threw himself at his friend again, gripping the tyrunt in the tightest hug that his scrawny arms could manage. "It's perfect!"

"Yep! It's all for you, Kole." Kyllian opened his arms to show it off, trying not to look as if he was about to burst from glee. His friend had finally returned to him! He wasn't alone! This was just about the happiest day in Kyllian's life.
Still, he was apprenhensive. He'd offered the same to another of the trio and she hadn't taken his offer. Would Kole...? Kyllian's arms faltered as Kole looked around, waiting, waiting, waiting on some kind of sign...
Then, when Kole hugged him he gave a whooping cheer and spun the Pumpkaboo around. "So you like it?! You'll stay?"

A gleeful laugh rose as he was spun around, his feet lifting up and away from the floor as they spun. "This is amazing!! he cheered, overwhelmed to excitement by the gesture.
Little black ears twitched briefly, and Kole nodded even more enthusiastically than before. "I wanna stay! I wanna stay with you! You're my best friend, Kyllian!"
Everything was different now. He no longer feared what Kyllian would say about his change; after all, Kyllian had changed as well! Kyllian had made up a room just for Kole, so Kole didn't even need to ask about staying! He was safe, and with his friend again!

Kyllian cheered as well, squeezing his friend as he spun him, wobbling for a bit near the end before finally setting him down. There was just so much to be excited for! He bounced up on his feet, his large tail swaying behind him. "Yay! You have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that, Kole! You're my best friend too!"
Kyllian clapped his hands and opened them up to the room. "Well, then this is your room! Bathroom is down the hall and I'm next door! But don't...don't go in the room with the pink door knob, okay?" That room was off limits for a while. He didn't let it stop his mood for long though. "Kitchen is down stairs and we've got a big back yard that you can decorate however you want! Actually, pretty much everything is up for changing if you want it too, since this is your house too."

Kole smile was stretching so big and wide that it was starting to hurt his cheeks. Yet, he couldn't stop! He'd never felt so happy before, and Kyllian's clear delight only made him feel it even more! He was Kyllian's best friend?! He could hardly contain himself!
His room... Amazing! And Kyllian would be so close! Just on the other side of that wall~ His ears perked at the mention of a pink door handle that was off limits, but quickly let it go. He was too happy to worry about one single door he couldn't go into.
His eyes lit up at the mention of the yard. He could... He could.. grow pumpkins! His own personal pumpkin patch! Life couldn't get much better than this! He couldn't help it as he jumped at Kyllian again, hugging his friend tightly.

Kyllian wrapped his arms around Kole and gave him the best Ursaring hug he could. All he'd ever wanted since changing was his friends beside him so that he wouldn't feel so alone, and now...Oh, he couldn't contain himself! He whooped again and laughed, nuzzling his face into his friends hair before blowing a raspberry on the top of his head.
Things were only going to go up from here, he just knew it. Today was the start of the rest of his life and Kyllian couldn't be happier.
