What was this? He didn't know anything! But maybe he did, he mentioned turning into a monster. Could Gaddok see the beast in his eyes too?
There were to many memories, to many emotions building in him, all of them painful.

He tensed when Gaddok placed his hand on him. For a second he wanted to lash out at him, channel his frustrations into anger and rage. He clenched his fists to restrain himself, his nails cut into his hands. He took a deep breath and pulled away when Gaddok said there was nothing wrong with him.

"You don't know that. Why else would she treat me like that? Not once did she look in my eyes. I'm her child and she treated me like I was going to burst like volcano at any minute!" He realized he was yelling, in his burst of anger he was yelling at Gaddok as if he was his mother.
"She never looked me in the eyes, she thought I would transform into a ravenous sermal and slaughter her." his voice had quieted and he looked away from Gaddok. He had let his bottled up emotions explode in the worst way, and in front of someone he hardly knew.
"Why would she do that, why would she leave me if there wasn't something terribly wrong with me?" He wasn't looking for answers from Gaddok. He was just saying them aloud. The questions that had weighed heavy on him for so long.

He brought his hand to his mouth. He felt like he was going to be sick and he was holding back tears. He bit down on his finger to keep from completely loosing himself. The wounds he had endured from his mother were far more painful that any physical pain he had ever experienced.

He tried to focus on his breathing, tried to calm himself. His body was shaking a little and he suddenly felt embarrassed. He had shown his most painful would to someone he just met. He had burdened someone else with his pain and he regretted it.
"I'm sorry, I just.." Warren sighed, "It was to much."
"Lets just. We are almost there." he managed to get out.

“Your mother is a nutcase… To put it bluntly.” Warren was clearly too wrapped up in emotion to pick up what Gaddok was trying to point out, “I can’t see how there is a problem with you, other than your freakishly large size and abnormally colored eyes. You seem perfectly nice, if but a bit socially awkward.” Gaddok tucked his hands into the front pocket of his pants and shrugged, “Think what you want, but I don’t think the problem lies with you.”

He began to see a vague outline of the small structures in the town, “Look, I think we’ve made it. Will the inn have healing supplies? Or do we have to stir the village healer?” Gaddok quickened his pace.

Warren didn't take in what Gaddok was saying to him. He didn't know how. He had always blamed himself for his mothers abandonment and it would take some time before he would accept otherwise.

It was later when the arrived in the town and most the residents were already inside for the evening. The Inn would likely be mostly quiet.

Warren felt a little nervous about going in and seeking help from the villagers. He had always seen himself as an outsider and acted the part. Because of the situation he had met Gaddok in, this was the most socialization hes had with a stranger. Perhaps there was something to learn from the encounter, but he would meditate on it later when his wounds were tended to.

Warren clasped his hand over the wound in an attempt to shield the gory mess.

"If I remember right, the Inn clerk is experienced in healing and they should have a first aid kit and supplies available." he said finally.

Gaddok nodded and headed for the Inn, with Warren surely in tow. Stepping through the door, he found the first person he figured was working in the inn and breathed, “I met a man in the forest, he was attacked by a witu and needs medical attention. Do you have a healer?”

The maiden of the inn stared on wide eyed and seemingly in terror, but was not looking at Gaddok… but beyond him. She dropped what she was doing, and after fumbling over a rolled out mat she made her way to a back room. Hearing an object being placed in front of the door, Gaddok figured she wasn’t going to be of much assistance...

“Huh,” He began as he made his way behind the counter and began looking for supplies, when suddenly…

“Thief!? You scoundrel! Mongrel! How dare you~” He seethed flailing his out warded finger in disgust, “You dare rob me! I’ll I’ll…”

Gaddok ran over and clapped a hand over his mouth, “Settle down sir. I’m not robbing you.” His words were enough to calm the man into hearing him out, “I met a man in the woods here. He was attacked by a Witu and requires medical attention. I was hoping you would have a healing kit?”

The man looked over at the looming figure in the door way and gasped, “Dear me! Not only do you come into my inn and rifle through my things without permission but you bring that lumbering creature of a man here as your bodyguard!?”

Gaddok slapped his forehead in disgust and rubbed his scruff, “No sir, He’s injured and needs healing… Can you provide it?”

“I have few supplies and would be hard pressed to waste them on that mixed mutt you brought with you… Damn witu was in the right for atta-”

Gaddok grabbed the man by his shirt, hoisted him up and slammed him against the wall, “I realize you’re upset with me, but I’ll be damned if I let you throw around accusations to a man you’ve never met, let alone know-”

“I’ve seen him… He’s Kendov’s boy…” he man cast a look of disgust at Warren then glared down at Gaddok, “A kind and gentle man, yet he was cursed with that monster for a son.”

Normally Gaddok was a compassionate understanding sort of gentlemanly figure, but the attitude of this innkeeper was wearing his patience thin… Very thin. “Where are your healing supplies” He seethed, “You point to where they are and I will let you down.”

The man raised a finger and pointed to a spot behind the counter Gaddok hadn’t gotten to yet. The man’s stare narrowed as he looked down at Gaddok’s ears peeking out of his hair, “Wait a minute… You’re a mix of a mutt too, aren’t you…” He began frantically flailing and kicking at gaddok, who had no choice but to drop him, “Guards~! Guards, I’m being robbed! Guaaarrrrds!!!” The man ran passed warren, shoving him aside as he proceeded down the street screaming for assistance.

“No wonder you think you’re a monster… ” Gaddok huffed, while dusting himself off and heading behind the counter to retrieve the medical supplies, “You live next to a village of complete nutcases…” This he firmly believed, because in all his travels he had never met such racist vengeful people… Which lead him to wonder if the strict rules his father had placed on the family to hide their leaf lineage was actually necessary… Was he too harsh on his father for trying to protect his family?

Shaking the thoughts from his head, Gaddok sprung the kit and began sifting through its contents. He recognized a few things, but it was mostly foreign to him, “You don’t think you’ll need stitches right?” his throat closed at the thought of sticking another man with a needle and sewing his wound shut. Gaddok was no stranger to gore, but it was the needles that bothered him… Yuck.

Grabbing a familiar salve his mother would put on his scraped knees as a child, he gently brushed the ointment across the scrapes on his arm, then dressed them with long strips of linen and placed a sticky cloth like substance that held the linen in place, “Well, I’m no nurse, but that will have to do you. I guess, umm… Here.” He placed the salve, linens and sticky cloth in his hands, “Switch that out tomorrow for clean stuff and then again before you go to bed tomorrow. It will hopefully fight off any infection and um… Heal quickly?” Gaddok tipped his head at the gibberish coming out of his mouth.

Closing up the case he placed it behind the counter where he found it and left the contents of his coin pouch on the counter. It wasn’t much but was definitely enough to cover the cost of the supplies. “Now, We best be going before that damn innkeeper comes back with more radical reinforcements.” Gaddok stated while ushering warren out of the inn.

Warren was a little surprised to see Gaddok respond so violently to the accusations the inn people were making. He liked that, he made a mental note to meet with Gaddok again later. This nice guy had some real strength in him, this was someone he could get along with.

Warren had thought about jumping in on the action just because it would be fun, but he had already fought today and it was nice to see someone else throw somebody around for a change.

Gaddok didn't seem eager to sew him up but that was to much to ask of him. He realized he had already done enough and gone out of his way. Warren still had his hand over the gash on his shoulder. He would tend to that later.

Right now it looked like the town watch was eager to kick them out.

Three men came around them. one of them said, "You have to leave now"

Warren sneered, "I'd like to see you try to kick me out." He let out a growl and lunged at one of them with his teeth bared but stopped short. It was enough to make them all jump. Warren chuckled to himself.
He knew they couldn't force him down, it would take at least five of them to hold him.

"I'll leave when I want to" he boasted as he started to back his way for the door. one of them tried to grab Warren's arm to escort him out but he shoved him off pretty hard.

"Thats it! We are taking you and your friend out of here!" the young guards voice sounded aggressive but his body language was meek.

One man followed Warren out of the inn and continued to follow until he left the village’s border. The other two turned on Gaddok, one grasped each arm and forced him into a chair, “Alright, boy. Talk.” The larger one snarled, while the other was still a bit jittery from Warrens’ ferocious display.

“I met a man in the woods. He was injured. I sought to get him help… The innkeeper refused to help me… So I helped him myself with the Inn’s supplies and left the coin on the counter there.” Gaddok gestured with his head to the counter, “Go see for yourselves if you don’t believe me.”

The smaller one scurried over to the counter and counted out the coin, “Yep, it’s all here; near enough to buy a new med kit.”

The innkeeper sweeped across the floor and scanned the counter, “How do we know he didn’t take it from my cashbox!”

“Your Locked cashbox?” Gaddok sneered, “I’m no crook you swine; not even from your likes.”

“Watch your tone, boy.” The large guard warned, “You’re in no position to be throwing around insults.”

“Call me boy again and you’ll be having more problems than my insults. I bet we have three years between us.” Gaddok scoffed, “Read me my charges and fine me or release me. I will not put up with your pompous a** anymore.”

“You’re a public menace!” The innkeep cried, “You assaulted my help, threatened me, manhandled me, damaged and stole my property-”

“Enough!” The guard cut him off, “he paid for the supplies used. You’re being accused of assault of a resident of Vers; a high offense. Did you lay hands on this man against his will?”

Gaddok’s lip formed a snarl, “Yes.” he replied bitterly, “He insulted my friend and I for no reason other than our race.”

“Do you have any coin on your person to pay for the crimes you have confessed to?”

“No, I used it to pay for the supplies and any “Damage” I caused.” The fact that he was being charged with anything was leaving a bad taste in his mouth. He couldn’t believe that after all he had been through because of this man, he was being treated like a criminal.

“Then, we will assign you read you your charges and what punishments will follow tomorrow. Until then you will be chained to a post in the center of town; since we have no formal cage to keep your kind.”

Gaddok launched up from his chair in an intimidatingly aggressive fashion. He stared down the larger guard and sneered, “How about this… You escort me the rest of the way to Dernd, Sauti. Retrieve my weapon and I will join the war effort in Jauhar. That’s surely nobler than anything you could “Punish” me with.”

The larger guard didn’t seem too keen on the idea, but the scrawny one piped in, “Well, we wouldn’t have to worry about him then… Maybe he will go off and die in the war. It’s his funeral, just let him go.”

The guard looked from his cowardly companion back to Gaddok, “Very well, we shall conscript you to the war against Oba. The two of us shall grab some supplies and escort you to Sauti so you may prepare.”

With a guard on either side of him, the trio parted from the Inn, retrieved their supplies, and left for Sauti.
