Rohannon inscribed the lady Lillith's words into his mind, committing them to memory. His lips moved ever so slighty as he repeated her description in a whisper with closed eyes, imagining dark, canid shapes slinking about the meadow. There was any number of possibilities that this could be - from simple foxes or coyotes, to a sinister wolfpack, or something even more dangerous. But no matter the Risk, Rohannon would not go back on his vow. There were dangerous creatures afoot, and he was a knight.

"There is no need for a moment's regret, My lady, Lillith. I would not have expected you to risk your safety for a glance at those curs. But with this information, I shall know where to begin."

He looked towards the forest, already begining to formlate a plan: to wait till nightfall and hope that the beasts emerged from the woods when Lillith's offer reached his ears.

He gasped, shaking his head, "Oh, oh no my lady! You cannot risk your safety! I am here to help, to protect. A maiden should not put herself into such danger!"

Lillith sighed a bit. She understood that he didn't want her to end up hurt... But... She really didn't want to simply leave the stallion alone. At the least she should be able to help him a little bit. She wasn't sure how exactly, but there really wasn't a reason she shouldn't be able to hold her own with him there as well.

She cleared her throat a bit and spoke again, "I think I could be of some help though. I know how they move. And, to a degree, what they look like. I could point you in the right direction for when they come." She looked closely at the stallion. "I understand that I am a bit... Weaker... Than yourself. But what if you don't need strength? What if you need another cunning mind on your side instead?" She thought for a second. "Or at least allow me to hide someplace close in case they take you someplace? I could stay small."

She looked at the ground, a bit ashamed. Never had she begged so much. It was something that was beneath her. Something she had decided she would never do unless the time truly called for it. Though maybe it did now? She hated to simply be in debt to the kind stallion, even if he had offered to help without her asking. She waited to see what his answer would be.

Rohannon looked quiet worried by the prospect of the fair maiden putting herself even in the viscinity of danger. She seemed so lovely, so delicate. He wanted to offer her his services to protect her, to make her safe. To free the maiden from the lurking threat that kept her from being able to stay in the meadow that she so longed to live in. A true shelter.

He took a deep breath, regarding the mare with utmost respect, "My lady Lillith, your experience and familiarity with this threat is invaluable, indeed.... and perhaps... you might be of aide - in spotting and identifying them alone. I would not risk putting you in their sights. I shall stay large and you small, so that if they see any, it shall be myself. But surely, do not depend entirely on your diminutive form to shelter you. If you might hide as well, or perhaps even in my mane - I could protect you, and you whisper to me what you notice? But if they get too close, please, my lady, take to wing and evade these beasts. They... are not capable of flight like you or I, are they?"

Lillith looked at him and nodded her agreement. They certainly seemed like reasonable terms to her, especially considering that she wanted to help him with his quest to help her. She didn't enjoy being a simple damsel, even if that what she was.

"I haven't seen them take flight... If they had wings, I've not seen them." She thought on it a bit more. "No... I don't think that they do have wings. I don't remember seeing the form of any wings on them in the shadows either. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they had any winged friends?" She twisted her muzzle up in thought. "I guess that's something we would have to figure out..."

Lillith became small and landed gently onto the stallions head, nesting into his hair a bit. "I shall stay small and stay here until you don't need me anymore."

Rohannon smiled as Lillith's form shimmered and condensed into her miniature form. And even though it was not necessary, he bowed his head to more easily allow her access to his silken mane.

He waited until she had taken her place by her ear, gently rotating it just a bit to get a feel for how much movement he could still use without dislodging her. Finally he spoke once more, keeping his voice a little hushed and gentle, "Are you quite comfortable, my lady? Are you stable enough if I were to move? Perhaps I should test to make certain I do not throw you - I could not bear it were I to cause you harm!"

Lillith settled into Rohannon's mane, covering herself in some of the hair. It was a lot more comfortable than she thought it would be. She laid down gently, attempting to wrap herself in his mane a bit, just to be more secure.

"It's very comfortable on your head actually. It's nice." She watched as he moved his ears a bit. "I think I should be able to stay put very nicely here. I've used a bit of your hair to try and keep me still. It would be... rather terrible... if I were to fling out of your mane."

She nodded a bit to his suggestion of making sure, then remembered that he couldn't see her. "I think a test with a few steps would be a good idea. Just to be sure that I'm nice and safe."

"To hear that eases my heart, Milady Lillith. Certainy, I have ample hair with which to secure yourself!" He whickered pleasantly.

"But your suggestion bears great merit. I shall test your hold. But please, do not place yourself in danger once the fell creatures arise. Free yourself from my locks before I will be required to move quickly."

That being said, the flutter stallion moved forward a few steps. His gait, like most of the things Rohannon did, came with great grace and a noble bearing.

I'm SO Sorry it took me so long to respond to this, twilight. My muse ended up suddenly shriveling up and dying and I'm trying to slowly come back into things ^^;

Lillith smiled as she heard him speak. She liked it when one who seemed older paid her a bit of compliment. Of course she couldn't be sure of the stallions age, but he gave off a caring, almost older brother vibe. It was nice and certainly reassuring! She was sure that he knew what he was doing and would be able to take care of her and the needs of her wanted home.

"I promise I will not put myself in danger. But I will help you if you need it." She wiggled around in his hair a bit. "I would be doing everyone a disservice if I didn't help you if you needed it!"

As Rohannon started off, she felt his gentle movements. For going as swift as he was, it certainly didn't feel that way! He was so graceful in all of his steps, seeming to have a careful consideration of every step he took en route to their destination. It was interesting to see a stallion with such a careful gait, probably something that is seen in a lot of flutter stallions she imagined. Most flutters she met seemed to have such a careful consideration of all things. She certainly felt out of her element when she was around pure flutters. Her half blood made her feel like she was less elegant than the pure. Though this stallion certainly seemed to think her perfectly elegant. She liked that a lot!
