In the interest of scaring the poor beast off, Pip began to let loose a hail of pebbles at the poor creature. They weren't doing significant damage, but as it scuttled about, dodging blows, it seemed to be losing interest. The orangeblood didn't see the point in pummeling the poor beast to death, as Sempur seemed to want to do...

The creature was quick! Some of Pip's attacks missed their mark entirely, colliding harmlessly with the sand where they would be collected after they got rid of the interfering creature.

With one last shot, Pip nailed the little beast in the hindquarters. It gave a hurt squeak before finally turning tail and scuttling off over the sand, uninterested in accosting creatures it was no match against. Pip huffed, watching as it fled.

Sarcel watched as the small beast fled, gripping her gun tightly. She hadn't fired because she had doubts that her shots would hit, given the nature of her shotgun, and as such actually admired how well Pip's aim was with the sling shot.
Though she did worry as the lizard scuttled away; Sir would probably not take that very well. Letting the enemy escape was almost as bad as losing, right? Regardless, the creature was gone and they could start back on their search for the main target once again.
Any optimism was soon cut short, however, when the blueblood noticed storm clouds gathering in the sky, seemingly from nowhere. They had had good luck up until now, given the fact this was a renegade weather device they were dealing with, but the ominous, billowy clouds had her thinking otherwise. The downpour that happened soon thereafter only emphasized it.
