Everyone in your group is well rested. Your group recovers three stamina, to a maximum of five! Your group recovers 13 hp, if you were previously at zero!
A floppy bouncebeast is no stranger to the desert, and when one bounces into your group’s path you’re suddenly struck with an idea. The lusus has been running wild for a while now… It could probably use a snack. Your group has captured a live bouncebeast! If the next 2D4 roll result is not to fight the lusus, the group can decide to use the bouncebeast to attract it to their location instead. Your roll will be treated as though it was originally a lusus encounter. The live bouncebeast can only be used once, and the group can only carry one live bouncebeast with them at a time.

A sudden cold snap whisks through the desert. There’s a n** in our nose, a chill in your bones and your cheeks are just a little more vibrant in hue. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem to be much more than a quick blast of frigid air. This weather effect will remain in play until the next dice are rolled.
Something glinting over a bluff catches your eye. A burrow in the side of the dune yields a bounty of shining golden beetles! And as they say, lucky beetles mean good fortune (and megabux$$$). Each member of the group has acquired 1 lucky beetle that can be redeemed at the end of the meta for a variety of rewards. You cannot carry any more than 5 lucky beetles total; if you run into this encounter more than 5 times, you cannot collect any more.

Uh oh. The ground rumbles suddenly. Not again! Sure enough, after a moment the rough shaking of the ground resumes with surprising force. It’s an earthquake! This weather effect will remain in play until a 2, 3, 4, or 5 are rolled on a D6.
An overenthusiastic bouncebeast hops into view. You don’t pay it any mind at first, but when it starts to get closer—and closer—you realize that spring is in the air. The lovestruck beast assaults your group! The bouncebeast has 1 HP, but has a +1 to avoid being hit (you will need to roll a 4 or above to hit). Every post in which the lovestruck bouncebeast has not been defeated incurs 1 point of damage to the group (as it wounds the group’s dignity in trying to hump their legs).

There’s little time to get to higher ground as a surging wave of water sweeps through the plains. Aided by a localized storm system, the flash flood rolls through quickly and viciously. This weather effect will remain in play until a 2, 3, 4, or 5 are rolled on a D6.

The feeling of another oncoming WACKY weather system prickles your skin. With a feeling of dread, you brace yourself for the effects of… A soothing, balmy breeze. Aaah… This weather effect will remain in play until the next dice are rolled.
The peace in the desert seemed too good to be true. Turns out that nice quiet spell was just the calm before the storm – or maybe all of the other weather effects were just too busy getting sucked in to that giant TORNADO straight ahead to do you any harm. This weather effect will remain in play until a 1 or a 6 are rolled on a D6.

In the distance… Is that a mirage? It certainly looks too good to be true, but as you get closer you break into a sprint when you realize that the oasis is exactly what it appears to be! Your group fully recovers HP!
A final slash and Atiqua was close to screaming out a string of curses as the beast seemed unfazed by her blows- she was determined to take home glory. Of at least something! In her pocket, the gerbil wondered why it's new home was moving so much.
And why it's new home was lined with beetles. Who wanted that junk anyway?

As the lusii left, Atiqua was grumbling. A new night sure, but what of anything else, just who was going to do anything about the whole lack of loot? She kept such thoughts to herself, not wishing to anger or frustrate the purple blood further. "I hope none of you have gotten worn on our expedition thus far. If I had a ship... we'd have taken it. But if I did I suspect I'd already be enlisted, in which case I doubt I'd be here at all."
If her little attempt at discussion did anything it was create sound, which drew out one hopbeast. "........" It came at her, red rom in it's beady little eyes. "Oh no, I don't have time for any of THAT nonsense."

She draw her weapon and took a swipe of the hopbeast. One hit, and it's head hopped right off from it's body. How lovely. "At the very least we now have dinner."

The hop beast removed from their party's presence, Atiqua looked once more at the kids.
"........Uh." She wasn't sure where they wanted to go, if they wanted to go any one direction or not, or, if they wanted to just lie and wait. "As captain I want to be, even I know to listen to my crew- where you all feel like heading today?"

"Dinner," Dictys said flatly, although ey couldn't help but admire the clean swing of Atiqua's...whatever that weapon was. But ey didn't like her, especially since she thought she could boss Dictys around just because she was older. How dare she, really? (Although she was probably right about dinner - Dictys shuddered to think of the taste of more imperial rations. Perhaps ey'd change it someday. Ey hoped someone here could cook. Had they even been given herbs? Or a device to vacuum seal their meat for proper sous-vide?)
"We can head this way," ey said breezily, as though Atiqua had not just implied that she, of all trolls, was the captain of this group, pointing in the direction the little creature had come from. Perhaps it'd been running from the lusus. Or something.
They hadn't walked long, though, before a low rumbling brought Dictys and the wagon to their knees. "What's going on?" ey asked. It was clear that ey hadn't really, ah...needed to experience this sort of bad weather in a long while. GROUP STAMINA: 3 GROUP HP: 25 GROUP INVENTORY: Lucky Beetle x 1 Multi-limbed Gerbil x 1

He'd done it! Curtsi had faced the lusus and thrown the net! Only... it hadn't seemed like anyone noticed, or at least cared anyway, except for Tessie who puffed her feathered chest out proudly and began quacking some glowing, enthusiastic praise that he was quick to shush because, mooom, not in front of my cool new friends! She did fall silent rather abruptly as she watched Atiqua slay the hapless bouncebeast in one fell swoop, and was a little glad her delicate son had been too busy putting the dazed and rattled-around gerbil into one of the pouches on her burdened back to see it himself.
So Curtsi was still in high spirits when he dared sidle up closer to the other two, tickled especially by how Atiqua called them her crew, and he looked between them smitten and obediently following along, until the sudden quake had him crying out in surprise "Earthquake!", hopefully answer enough for Dictys as he had most certainly had experience with it.

Little pebbles of ice fall in sheets from the sky, and soon the little pebbles feel like veritable chunks of gravel, knives, and a bad case of hypothermia. The ice storm doesn’t seem like it’s going to let up—at least, it looks that way through the blinding shards of frozen awfulness that completely obscure your vision. This weather effect will remain in play until a 1 or a 6 are rolled on a D6.

Not weeks after Bloodfest, a familiar snowfall begins to accumulate on the ground, and then rapidly accelerates into a snowstorm. Between the snow, sand and a rapidly changing WACKY sky, it’s nearly impossible to keep track of up and down, let alone a white lusus in a snowstorm. This weather effect will remain in play until a 1, 3, or 5 are rolled on a D6.

The trek is long and tiresome, but little gems like this are worth it. After looking through an animal den for the umpteenth time this expedition, it dawns on the group that you’ve finally found the lusus’s den! Happy day! If the next 2d4 roll’s result is not to fight the lusus, the group can change the result to a lusus encounter, as the lusus is “coming home”! In addition, teens gain 1 extra hit each. As the lusus is considered to have run back out of the den after the encounter, this effect can only be used once per finding he lusus’s den.

Upon encountering a heap of weather-ravaged rubble, you spot a familiar hoppity stump laying on the ground. Whether it’s a sign of the dangerous WACKY weather is irrelevant – any troll knows that bouncebeast hooves bring good luck! Your group has acquired a lucky bouncebeast hoof! The hoof can be used to reroll one dice roll during the meta. When the use of the hoof has been announced, the most recent roll is thrown out and can be re-rolled. The lucky bouncebeast hoof is then discarded from the inventory.

A swarm of crawling biteystingerpinchybeasts sets upon the group – looks like the weather and your stepping all over them has made them pretty mad. Better, uh… Keep stomping! The swarm has 6 HP. The group takes 2 damage for each post that the swarm hasn't been wiped out yet.

"B-B-B-race yu'rselves!" She managed to shout as the ground shook under her feet. This was why the waves were better. Or space. Space didn't vibrate at random, and waves just rolled, unlike shaking. It passed quickly enough. The earthquake did yeild some benfits.
Such as a small stash of beetles.

While Atiqua was okay with taking orders time to time from the purple blood, she did wander a bit- and get stung by some rather..angry desert dwellers.

A thick translucent blanket of dust appears ominously on the horizon. Plop. Plop. Something drops from the sky, landing over the hill. Another flops into the sand nearby, making an unpleasant squelching noise. Plop—splat. This weather effect will remain in play until another weather effect is rolled. Players may roll 2d4 for their regular item, location and lusus encounters, but will be plagued with a constant fishy invasion until then.

Through the desert there aren’t many troll dwellings. You do, however, manage to find a long abandoned hive, and decide to continue the search while in a more protected position. Your group can do two 2D4 rolls while searching the hive. Weather encounters triggered during this time are dispelled immediately, as the group is considered to be sheltered from them at this time.

Passing through the desert, the only thing that is particularly interesting is the grim landmark of a set of lusus bones half-buried in the desert sand. This is not the lusus you’re looking for! Carry on. Look, there’s a little troll skeleton beside them... Aww!
The pitter-patter of drizzly rain dot the sand with dark freckles. It’s pleasant at first, but soon the rain picks up pace. A roar of rolling thunder heralds a torrential rainstorm!
