Wallas barely had any time to say anything before the lusus zipped past yet again. With a mighty yell that might have been spurred by Keionx's warcry, he pitched another net at the lusus, hoping to slow it down. Once he threw the net, though, he clapped his hands over his mouth, shocked at what he had just done. Where did THAT come from?

Morphe got his tonfas ready for another strike at the beast. How would he fare this time? Hopefully he wouldn't look like a total chump.

Bam! Another good hit! Morphe could feel the beginnings of self-esteem bubbling up within him. Maybe he'd get to prove himself yet!

...Okay, maybe he'd spoken/thought a bit soon. That hit wasn't quite so impressive. Nonetheless, the lusus was still in range. Gotta get in one more hit...

Keionx was impressed all around. First, they'd managed to catch up with the Lusus, then they'd managed to beat it up, abut first, foremost, and finally, the redblood had made an epic warcry. Keionx was proud to be a part of this team. She was proud to be on this quest for the empress. So proud. So very proud.
"Great job, fellow companions!" she said, offering a canteen of musclebeast milk around - carefully packed up and poured by her Lusus to sustain her on on her Incredible Quest. Beastdad was pretty proud of her too. "We will be gloriously victorious! Of this we should be assured!"

Miache puffed his chest proudly. Excellent! They were doing so well! He hadn't thought lowbloods would put forth such effort for the Empress, he had to give them props for that much at least. However......their 'war cries' were HIGHLY unnecessary and completely unbecoming to someone of higher standards like himself. "WELL!" he began, "Let's get going. Let's not break our current streak of lu--" Plop "What was th--" PLAP! No.....no....no no no.......nonononononononononono!!!!!
A rather terrified shriek rendered the air as the highblood quickly ducked his head under his blanket (One he'd brought with just in case of excessive sand), he hated to think it would be ruined by fish.....but he could always just trash it.....he couldn't let his wardrobe be ruined obviously!

Wallas looked to the sky... and promptly got hit in the head by a falling sea bass. Sighing heavily, he got up and rubbed his head. "Oh. Fish," he mumbled, as though he was unsurprised by this turn of events. Honestly, he was waiting for something weird like this to happen. Not really caring about the encroaching fish stench (weird odors were part of lowblood life on occasion), he moved onward, walking right past the cowering Miache into whatever would come next.
"Whatever" ended up being a multi-legged gerbil, frantically scurrying around to avoid being hit by the hail of fish. The creature scuttled up to Wallas's foot and squeaked plaintively. Taking a surreptitious look around, he put the rodent in one of his vest pockets. Maybe it'd come in handy later (and hopefully not as food).

"Onwards!" she said, pointing forward with her wooden sword, "For the Empr..." she looked up as... fish... began to rain from the sky, plopping all around her and... on her head. She shook the slimy beast off of her head and into her hands, inspecting it.
"Oh hey..." she said, glancing at the other trolls. "I mean, ah... HOW FORTUITOUS! We have been blessed with dinner! The darkened heavens themselves are granting us nourishment. She pumped her fist at the sky and began to gather fish.
She smiled at Miache, offering him a fishy hand. "Oh come now fair blueblood, it's quite delicious! We just need a fi..."
And then she saw the gerbil.
AND THEN SHE SAW THE GERBIL.
"AWWWWWW" she said, squeaking a very un-knightly squeal of delight. "Its so cute!" she said, going over to inspect Wallas's new friend.

Found the Lusus!
"Ahem" she tried to get control over herself, "What are you going to name the... the... delightful beast?" she asked, struggling to suitably knightly words to describe 'cute', and also being distracted both dodging and collecting fish.
Suddenly, she heard a rumble that was not fish. First, she checked the sky - at this point, who could tell what came where?
Then she saw it.
"Its back its back!" she cried, throwing her net out like a lasso, "We will be victorious!" she cried, incidentally dropping her collected fish in her haste, "WHOOOHOOO!"

Wallas cracked a tiny smile when Keionx came over to inspect the creature. What was that saying about cute Lusii and chick magnets again? "I'll decide if it's still around when this is over," he said, tucking the hamster a bit deeper into his pocket.
Then came the thundering of mighty lusii feet. "Let's get back to business," he said, then took a deep breath. With a growl of effort, he thrust his net at the lusus once more. It wasn't quite as impressive as his war cry before, but it was still kind of manly sounding (...for a kid, anyway).

Fair? He knew she was insane.....but man was she pushing it! Miache wasn't some...pretty little weakling! He knew how to hold a weapon, some day he'd be big and strong and it would be HIM slaying rambunctious hooligans....but until that day he would train.....because he had to. "Not again!" he breathed at the sight of the lusus' return. How could they find it so many times? It just seemed to be following them! Well, he really couldn't complain, it meant he could try to show off just a little more. "HUP!" he tossed the net, trapping the beast once more. "Let's try this again!"

Morphe just could not get a grubbing break. What was with these wigglers? Where did they get the energy?
Morphe was getting tired and just wanted to call it a night and go to sleep. Heck, if the oranggeblood was going to cook it, he woudln't be adverse to stinky fish.
Ugh.
He might as well get the beating of the lusus over with.

One more bout with the lusus later and they were hitting the road again....or....desert rather. Miache was hating this...there was sand everywhere....his only consolation was he'd be able to get out of it soon and dump the sand from his boots. There was a reason he didn't live in the desert! The lakeside was FAR more hospitable. A squeaking brought him out of his internal griping and he couldn't help but roll his eyes....damn....more of them. Well....raptordad would be happy when he got home....
