"I can see you are astounded by my astute abilities in the fortune of being lucky. But I assure it that the feng-shui of my room is set up in a way..." Mintaka started to break down the ancient tradition before frowning. "Throw a rock?" She almost seemed offended.
A lady did not throw a rock at others.
"Okay! Okay." The hit connected, and still quite painfully, but before Chariklo could move away, she brought her leg up and swung it, grazing off the girl. "Kick." She muttered.
It was only the start of the fight, she wouldn't get frustrated. Huffing a bit, she stood. "Did you know how to fight before you became a...Mirror Senshi?"

Grunting a little as the kick glanced off of her hip, Chariklo continued to press forward with the attack.
"I've been fighting since I was a kid," she answered coolly, not even a bit out of breath. "Drove my step-mom nuts since she thought I should be a proper little lady and not some hellion."
This time as her fists came in, Chariklo grinned and aimed for Mintaka's shoulder, slowing the punch so that when it connected, it would be more of a playful punch.
"Don't stop moving in the middle of a fight, girl. Person who keeps moving usually keeps living."

"Oh..." Mintaka frowned again, "Well...A proper young lady is very admirable goal, but not for everyone?" THIS WAS SUPPOSE TO BE MINTAKA COMFORTING YOU CHARIKLO. "It is very demanding and time consuming...I suppose."
She was in the throes of thought as the playful punch knocked her back.
She nodded, taking Chariklo's arm and pushing it out of her way to give her a full force punch to the stomach.
Except it really probably didn't hurt. None the less, Mintaka's face paled a bit. "I'm sorry! Too much strength? I didn't mean to hurt you if I did!"

Wheezing slightly both from shock and the unexpected force of the punch, Chariklo grinned and aimed a hard cuff at Mintaka's ear.
"If," she gasped, "I ever catch you apologizing for hitting someone you are fighting, I will kick your lily white a** across town. That was good!"
Stepping back a bit and straightening, she did a quick mental assessment and her grin widened.
"I'll live, but I'm starting to wonder. How much of your inexperience is from some 'But it's not lady-like!' block and how much is actual inexperience?"
Chariklo may have looked rough around the edges, but she was pretty good at listening and all the little verbal hints and Mintaka's own indignation at the Dark Mirror's habit of sass or even the little asides about proper behavior were painting one big clear picture.
"You can't let this idea of being a lady take over if you have to fight. It's great to be classy, but going too far will get you killed if it makes you hesitate for even a moment."
Taking an extra second to make sure she had her breath back, Chariklo surged forward again, this time with a series of high, sweeping kicks mixed in with the punches. She was going to look like some stupid Action Figure Now With Kung-Fu Grip!!11!!!!, but she wanted to keep Mintaka on her toes.

"Ow!" Mintaka held her ear and looked at Chariklo with a wounded look. "Yes Ma'am. No apologizing during the hitting, got it Ma'am. Don't want my a** to get kicked."
She huffed, watch Chariklo step back. "I've always been told a Lady shouldn't resort to violence unless needed too. We progress much further if we are able to talk our problems out, rather then blindly beat them out. You don't get farther along if you keep posing hate instead of grudingly acceptance and the openness to truce." Lot's of fancy words.
"I know...I know." She whispered, "But I don't wanna lose myself...lose the idea that I can accept everyone." She was a terrible fighter.
And she'd be one of the ones to die if she continued this way.
but she didn't have much more time to think about it as Chariklo moved in again with a flurry attacks. She could parry some, and took hits from others. At one point, during the parries, she would get a hit in, a kick in.

Chariklo listened and snorted. Just how innocent was this girl?
"So don't lose that idea. Just remember that not everyone is going to accept you. That's a general you by the way. There are people out there who will try to kill you out of hand. If you can't defend yourself, how is that going to do you or your ideals any good?"
The Dark Mirror gave tiny, approving nods as they sparred. The kid was willing to learn and wasn't totally useless. And most importantly, she was taking the hits that came to her and rolling with 'em. That, more than anything, reassured Chariklo that Mintaka might just survive this war. And opposite sides or not, the tall senshi felt a measure of happiness about that.
Nyxtsuki Moon I think we may be able to wrap this soon if you want?

"Your right." Mintaka huffed, and as the blows stop coming, she nodded. "I won't forget it." She sniffed a bit before looking Chariklo over.
"Am I safe to assume you accept me?" Mintaka waited a beat...."I would like to call you a ally, perhaps a friend later right?" Mintaka held her breath, because in this world, she wanted more allies, more friends...
Then any enemies.
She summoned a small paper crane, like she had with Zinkenite, "Should you ever need me, just send this little one back to me?" A token and a friendship. A acceptance of Chariklo. It could be death for her later, but she would trust the one who taught her to fight better right?Twilight Jaws We can wrap soon yes biggrin Next post if you want? Nodding, Chariklo offered up a crooked grin.
"Good. See that you don't. And yeah," she added with a wink, "we're good, Princess."
She watched with an avid curiosity as Mintaka summoned a tiny paper crane and then gave it to her.
"I will do that and thanks. Pretty and useful. Just like it's creator, right?"
Okay, she couldn't help flirting a little. And it was fun to needle Mintaka just a teensy bit. With another smile, she tucked the crane carefully into the bag she carried her wraith shards in before offering Mintaka her hand.
"Time for me to be checking in on my girlfriend, I think. You be smart and be careful, hear?"
Giving Mintaka's hand a friendly squeeze, Chariklo grinned again and sauntered off. She had a mirror a few blocks away waiting for her.
