"Innocent until proven guilty." Bix said between bites. "Like why would I not believe that? She's never done anything otherwise.. and she's sweet and awesome and spends her time with me. She doesn't run around with other dudes on me or anything. So... like theres no reason for me not to think it?" He actually looked confused. "What's this about exactly? Do you... I mean did one of you...? " Bix was now giving Gale accusing stares. "Stormy?"

Gale toyed with his food. Bix's accusing stare was totally ignored.
"I told her I loved her," he said finally. "She hasn't said it back yet, and I'm not trying to force her to say it or anything. I do trust her, and I know she loves me, it's just..."
He trailed off with a small sigh.

"Aw dude I'm sorry.. that sucks." He wasn't patronizing. Bix was being very genuine in fact, but something like that was hardly the end of the world. He was confident Gale and Stormy could tough it out. "It probably hurts your feeling a little but, hopefully you guys aren't acting weird because of it. Is she like... your first real girlfriend? Sometimes it's hard for people to make that sort of admittance. The only people they ever loved before were family and romantic love... it's tough. It's trust and I know that I don't have to tell you that on this island there is very little to encourage trust."

"No, no," said Gale, shaking his head. "She's not acting weird, and neither am I. And, well...yes," he admitted, cheeks flushing scarlet. "First girlfriend, first...well, not really kiss, but first real kiss, I suppose..." His face was now so red it was a miracle it wasn't on fire.
He waved a hand. "At any rate, I just...I know she loves me and that she would never, you know...stray or anything, and neither would I. We do trust each other. "
His shoulders slumped a little as he toyed with his food. "I just sometimes wish I could hear it, rather than just assume it."

"Yeah I know.." Bix frowned. "I'm sorry bro but girls are like sensitive special snowflakes... with arms that can punch you." His description may have been slightly off. "You gotta let them have their time and remember that here, we all have some issues so, we as people are not exactly the normal cross section of humanity." He ate the last bit of what he'd never realize wasn't even chicken. "She's totally into you though so don't worry about it! And if the words maybe bother her, find others ways to show her you love her! She'll get there eventually!"

Gale frowned slightly at the punching comment, but Bix at least had much more experience than he did, and knew more about girls. He gave a small nod, absently rubbing his hand along his jaw as he tried to digest this information, file it away for future reference.
His cheeks were still a little red. "Well, I suppose that's true. I'll figure something out."
Gale smiled. "Thanks, Bix," he said. "You're a real mate, even if you are also a dork."

"You'll be fine!: Bix encouraged through a mouth full of food. It was thankfully the last. "We're brothers man." He said it genuinely. Somewhere in his mind there was a memory of a blonde brother of his own but it was hazy and far away, locked behind a fog he hadn't decide to push and prod. The memory could stay missing and shrouded. It was easier. "For real. Even if you aren't dorky enough."

Gale rolled his eyes and stabbed a piece of chicken with his fork, bringing it to his mouth and chewing slowly. "Well," he said. "If Stormy and I ever get serious to be married, I guess you could be invited. Maybe."
