Before he lifted the jugs, he noticed Jewels glum face,"Hey Jewels, did invisi-ghoul say something to you that made you mad?" he asked.
He couldn't tell when a ghoul was upset, but when a ghoul looked as upset as Jewels, he could tell.
"If she did, you know you don't have to believe that stuff."

"I.. I know.. " She looked up at him, adjusting her glasses. "It's just... d.. does everyone really think i'm some sort of... boo thief?" She frowned deeply. First Demona, then that misunderstanding at tombcoming, now this. Was she ever going to be able to speak to a boo without being accused of wanting to date him? Oh dear, what if Felix had a crazy ghoulfriend she hadn't been told about.. no, that was ridiculous, he'd asked her to tombcoming right? He couldn't have some secret ghoul... could he? Frustrated, Jewels shook her head and looked to the small groups of monsters gathering.
"I.. I have to gowelcomemyguests..." She excused herself and scurried away before another ghoul could swoop out of nowhere and start a fight.

"Hey, Jewels you don't have to-" but she managed to run away before he could finish.
He gave a sigh, man, Jewels was having a tough time at the school ever since the dance. He wondered why she was having a tough time, eh, he'd ask later.
He lugged the juice to the bowl and began to pour it so everyone would have drinks for the party.

Sally nodded to Tori as she helped with her tangled tendrils. She watched Jewels tilting her head. She walked over to where Felix was pouring punch and looked at him
"Jewels seems a little... uh... panicked, maybe is the right word?" she tilted her head.

"Yeah, I guess," he sighed as he stopped pouring and leaned on the juice jug, "but what I don't get is what's been going on with her lately. Ever since the dance, she seems so miserable. But she won't tell anyone what's wrong."
He gave another sigh and began to pour again, "Ghouls are too confusing sometimes."

Sally tilted her head and looked over at Jewels. Since the dance? She looked at Felix again and shrugged a shoulder "I don't exactly understand it myself." she said "But then, I haven't been around other monsters for that long."

It was a short walk to the park, coincidently the venue of this party Jewels Underne was holding. But Ronan and Meme didn't follow the other students heading toward the caverns, instead they made their way down the well worn path to a secluded little clearing. On the way they passed another couple enjoying an early evening picnic, they nodded in faint greeting and continued on their way. Ronan set the basket down and extracted a blanket, laying that down for them to sit on. "I.. got you something." He began. "I... did a lot of research into this whole date thing and well, everything I read said I should present you with.. a token of affection? And that flowers were a standard. However I wasn't sure what sort of flowers you liked and the florist at the maul suggested I should consider what sort of things you liked. But I couldn't think of anything but balloons and confetti... " He looked a little sheepish. "So I uh... made you this..." He pulled from the hamper a single flower, made completely from balloons and held it out stiffly. He'd spent three days watching videos on fright tube to learn how to do it, popped an awful lot of balloons in the process and now he wasn't even sure it was the right thing to have done. "I uh.. i'm sure you could do far better, I mean, you do this sort of thing for a living but... well.. I uh.. here? Sorry I couldn't make a bunch, they kept bursting and flying off and a few i'm pretty sure hit Dashner in the face... "

Meme happily hooked her arm through Ronan's, grinning despite feeling like party balloons were popping in her stomach, and they marched on to the park. It was a crisp afternoon and the air was tinged with a slight chill. Ghost birds were singing their whispy tunes as they perched on the branches of a withered willow tree. She snuggled closer to the selkie, ruffling the furry ears of her hat across his cheek as they sauntered down the well trodden Nature Trail of Doom. "It's nice to get away from studying for a while." She sighed with a smile and felt herself begin to relax. Mid terms were drawing nearer and all her spare time was spent studying and attempting to organise her notes. All work and no play leads to an unhappy clown! Meme flopped onto the blanket and crossed her legs, excited to see what food was hidden in the basket. She felt it was a rather odd day for a picnic, but Ronan wasn't particularly normal (by 'normal monster' standards anyway) so odd dates probably came naturally. The clown smiled and nodded as Ronan spoke, touched by how much effort he'd put into the simple date. Her heart panged with guilt and realised she hadn't reciprocated the effort and she panicked, hoping he wouldn't read too much into it. She clenched her fists, angry that she hadn't put much planning into the date. 'Now's the time to start getting serious. Relationships are about equality and right now the score is Ronan 1 Meme -10!' She screamed internally. Meme had zoned out but was snapped back to reality with a small head shake, and she realised Ronan was stood over her, holding out a bootiful crafted balloon.. Weregiraffe? 'Flowers, c'mon Meme, he literally just said it's a flower. Pay attention, you stupid ghoul!'"Aww, Ronan!" Her heart melted into a puddle of rainbows and confetti as she accepted the gift, and she looked up at him with sparkly eyes. "I don't know what to say!" She inspected the balloon flower closely. "That's so nice.. You- It's lovely.. Thank you!" She looked down and frowned, gently twirling the pretty trinket in her hand. "I'm sorry, I didn't make gift for you. I didn't think.." She admitted sadly, the patterns and fabric of the blanket suddenly became very interesting.

Everyone was paying more attention to Jewels then her!! It only fueled Vanissha's anger more, she could barely contain it.
She told herself getting mad would do no good! But Getting even would be so much better!
"Who ever heard of a party in a cavern! So small and stuffy! The Catacombs is where the REAL party going to be! TONIGHT!"
She made sure to make an announcement.
"This party is LAME! The real party is where I'll be! Anyone who wants to have a party of their unlife time should come!"
After her announcement people started talking about her and that was fine with Vanissha.
She sauntered over to JD, there was a smile on her face but it was forced.
"C'mon on JD, the REAL party at the Catacombs. I need you to DJ."
She held out her hand for him to take, with out music this party was sure to be dead as a morgue.

Ronan smiled, clearly pleased she liked his gift.
"I do not believe the female is supposed to present trinkets. "
He shrugged and sat down, opening the hamper and setting out a selection of prepackaged foodstuffs. He'd bought several different sorts of sandwiches, juice, a selection of small cakes and even some booberries.
"I didn't know what sort of things you liked to eat, so I got a variety."
"It is nice to get away from study, though i'm not certain which has me more anxious. Mid term examinations or my parents attending this parent creature conference. " He shook his head. "Do your parents intend to attend?" Now there was something he wasn't sure he was ready to do, meet her parents.

Meme blew a raspberry in shock "Ppfftttt, that doesn't make sense." She shuffled closer to Ronan. "Who told you that one? The skinternet?" She joked playfully. At least he'd read up on 'perfect dates', she just assumed it was like 'hanging out with friends-who-are-more-than-friends'
Her attention turned to the food as her stomach started to growl. "Oohh, is that ham and mustard?" She grinned, picking out a sandwitch and taking a large bite. "Dellishush!" She said through a mouthful of bread. He'd set out a large variety and it was nice to pick and choose on a whim.
She swallowed the mouthful and brushed crumbs from her clothes, "So what's your favourite things to eat?" She smiled curiously, feeling the sudden urge to know everything about him.
"Oh," Meme shrugged noncommittally and picked up a small cake. "My dad might be there, if he's got time, and gotten my messages and stuff." she said slowly and the evasively asked, "Will your folks be coming down?" before taking a large bite of the cake.

He shook his head. "No it doesn't make a lot of sense. I was informed at tombcoming that I must open doors for ghouls as well..." He frowned. "But ghouls seem perfectly capable of opening doors themselves right? I mean barring any physical disability, gender alone should not require special treatment..." He shrugged. "I still evidently have much to learn."
He picked up a sandwich.
"To eat? Well... I believe I mentioned Lutefisk already to you, I could not find anywhere stocking it however. I like seafood, which is... hardly surprising really yes?" He held up his sandwich, tuna salad.
"My parents yes, least, my mother for certain. My father it will depend upon his work schedule but I hope he does, otherwise I shall have to sit with her and translate everything the teacher says about me. Her english is... not very good unfortunately."

Tori laied her arms friendly around Sally and Felix. " You havn;t been around Moster's all that much, but one thing' for sure you're doing an hexilent job of learning about us. We'll help you along the way."She crossed her arms over her chest and huffed. "I wish that annoying, little prat would make like a tree and leave." Then she turned to Felix, her expression softened. she put a hand on his shoulder "Felix? You think that Jewels could use an ear to listen?"

"Seafood, hm? My friend, Leukothea, fries up some mean calamari! I'll have to steal her recipe try and make it for you sometime." She smiled at him, finishing off the cake and pouring them each a cup of juice. "I need to repay you for this lovely picnic! I mean.. I might be able to give you some money of you bought some of this, but I'll have to check my werepiggy-bank!" she said, a little flustered.
Meme wriggled around to try and shake off the nerves, and stretched across the blanket on her side, propping herself up on an elbow. She looked up to watch the branches of the trees shivering in the wind. "That sounds nice." She giggled, "I'd like to meet them, see where you get your dashing looks and sense of humor."
Meme blushed suddenly, turning as red as the beatroot salad on the blanket. "I wasn't joking," she tried to explain, hoping he hadn't assumed she was being sarcastic. "I was being deadly serious," and her face flushed darker. Meme looked mortified and covered her face with her gloved hands.

"That sounds nice... I cannot cook... at all. Mother tried to teach me but it was just... catastrophic I believe is the most appropriate word. " He shook his head. "No no, you don't owe me anything. My parents.. provide a generous monthly stipend, I think they would approve of me putting it toward this rather than another video game." He chuckled softly, yes his mother would definitely prefer he went on dates than sat around playing violent games in his room, she'd flat out told him as such last time they'd spoken.
"m.. meet them?" He too flushed a little, but he nodded. "I am certain that will be unavoidable if they are in town."
He stared at her as she covered her face, frowning. Had he said something to upset or offend her? He wasn't entirely sure. Carefully he reached out a hand to her, gently getting her to lower her hands and show her face again.
"I believe you. "
