Ok...you people who are trying to shove religion down mine and others throats....stop it. No one cares about your stupid a** religion adn if we did we wouldn't want to listen to you bable about it. It's annoying and repetitive. Shock us all and say something intelectual please. And by that I mean something that is fact not a believe cause that doesn't count.

apocalypse5670 again someone else said this the bible has been rewritten so many times that no one is really sure That is not a problem at all given that we have copies of the books in the original (or close to) languages. I would be suprised if a modern exegesis did not contain the books in the most ancient language possible.

According to this logic, I could write a book saying that up is down and suddenly it would become magically true. I don't need a book to tell me who I am. I am me, according to what I believe is right and wrong and what I believe is moral. If I live my life, trying to be the best person I can by my own standards, that's good enough for me. If there is a heaven, and if the only way to get in is by believing in one book and conforming to the ideas of one book, it's a very corrupt god we're dealing with and I wouldn't want to go to a place like that. What you have to realize is people are individual. Not everyone is going to think and feel the way you think and feel. You do not have the right to force people to believe what you believe. No one has that right

I never said I could did I? rolleyes I only said no one has the right to tell me what to believe. No one has to agree with my feelings on god, or the lack thereof, but I'm not going to try and change their beliefs either. That's all I'm saying.

That's the problem with moral relativism: you cannot say anything is right or wrong or you reveal yourself to be a hypocrite. You have said that "no one has the right," which leads the other to question what right you have to tell them what they cannot do? Unless you believe you have the right to tell others what they can or cannot do then you ought to remain silent. Hmm? If you have the right to tell them that they do not have the right to tell you what to believe, then why cannot they have the right to tell you to shut up and ignore them? Anyway, I'm done playing; back to work. gonk

The way I see it, if God wanted me to believe in them then they would have done something about it.
I seriously dont get you people saying God is so loving and forgiving. But in the same breath you're like "You can only get into heaven if you believe in him. Athiests burn in hell." So let me get this straight. This random dude decided to create us and call us his children and says he loves us. Then he's like "Okay I'm gunna give you guys some hints to my existance but will never fully reveal myself so you have to figure out if I do exist or not. If you decide I dont exist you will burn in hell where your soul will be torn apart for eternity. Okay? Go!" Seriously, I just dont buy that.

To me? basicly I see god as a fictional character that has been made to seem real to people, I mean the only good thing about it is making sure no one is out of line.

That is an interesting perspective. At least you keep busy and have a way to support your beliefs. Good for you.

I dont mean to cut down your beliefs or anything, but Im not sure this is proof. Im pretty sure that, asuming the god you are refering to exists, he doesnt want us to have real proof. Its a test of sorts.
If he wanted us to know he was there, he would come down and say Hi.

I was pretty convinced that the current version of the Bible is the one rewritten during the council of Nicea, under Emperor Constantin (1290?).
