He made a noncommittal, vaguely skeptical sound, and with the same automaton lack of emotion as before assayed another successful round, still half-focused on her phone.

"Well it'd be a huge step up from ******** Lawrence," he pointed out in a subdued snap. He'd scrolled up higher than he'd needed to, nosy as always, feeling above the constraints of personal privacy, as always. The world tipped up unevenly on its axis, sending his stomach lurching, and he closed the DM window and slid the phone back across to her with more force than was strictly necessary, carefully avoiding the tower.
"Just about anyone'd be a huge step up from Lawrence."
