The hamsa held her breath, biting her bottom lip and glanced around the room as she thought it over Tatiana Mae and then she assumed Troxel would be her family name. It made sense. The alliteration was pleasant on the tongue- Tatiana Troxel. It was doable- she conceded and responded to Zeke's query with a large smile. Her cheeks dimpled and the feathering around her eyes framed her plum colored irises.

"I think it'll work," She said slowly, turning to look at her guardian once more, "I like the name."

Harrison looked like a man who'd just surfaced for air. At once he let out a large breath and his entire body relaxed. He mirrored Tatiana's smile and lofted his brow at the veterinarian while lifting his hands in a simple gesture.

"Well, that's settled then, I suppose!" He smiled brightly and moved to the Raevan, gently holding out a hand for hers, "Pleasure to meet you Tatiana Mae. Let's introduce you to the most consistently obnoxious yet present task in anyones life. Paperwork."

Tatiana transferred from one elbow to the other, red stained fingertips gripping into Troxel's jacket, "The title sounds boring."

"It's important to document certain things. It's a written promise really," Harrison laughed and moved over to the file Zeke had gestured to, searching for a pen. As a military man and one who worked for the government- he was no stranger to files and paperwork.

"What are you looking for here, Zeke?" Harrison asked as he read over the document.

Zeke set the file down on the desk in the room, opened it, and spun it around so Trox could read it over. Like the first sets of documents the man had to sign forever ago it was all in Legal-ese, with a section at the top for Tatiana's info. Her soul and Essence were there, but the line bearing the word 'Name:' was blank for now.

"Just your name in these spots here and the date right after." He tapped two spots near the end, ignoring a third where his own name would go after Trox was done and the line for the Frei's name. "These are the final sets of papers you have to sign for the Lab. They're just to make sure you are the Guardian in question and that you fully understand your obligations to the Lab, the project, and to Tatiana as well."

Zeke smiled at the Hamsa, rolling his weight from his heels to his toes and back again. Certainly that would not be a problem for the pilot. He had come this far, so Zeke couldn't fathom anything making him turn back now. When Troxel was done signing, Zeke procured his own pen and signed and dated on his own line. Yes, he was the attending staff member and yes he watched the Guardian in question sign and date this and confirmed the man was actually himself.

"Now that that's done, I just gotta make sure I spell her name right." Zeke put the tip of his pen to the name line for the Raevan, looking up at Trox. "T-A-T-I-A-N-A, correct?" The last thing he wanted to do was spell it one way and have it be another in actuality. Alex wouldn't be happy to see White Out on this document, no sir.

Harrison nodded, looking over the document carefully. He had a knack of asking for the gist while he indeed did take in every word. Again, his old habits would never die. He even glanced up at Zeke as he penned his signature, dating the document and tuning to look at Tatiana.

"I do have a question regarding a different legality. If I am incapacitated due to medical or job security- May I formally introduce a proxy? Like a medical proxy or in this place a next of kin or godparent-ship?" He stood up, his willowy frame taking its full and tall stance next to the Frei who bobbed lightly in place. She eyed the document from her spot on Harrison's elbow.

"I have family nearby and an individual I'd trust my life with," He bit his bottom lip and considered the circumstances, "Well, I have trusted my life with in the past and continue to do so."

Tatiana seemed to be vibrating in anxiety as she watched herself be signed over to the pilot. It was surreal. She didn't want to interrupt Harrison especially because the topic seemed to be her safeguarding should something happen to him. However she didn't enjoy feeling like property either.

"I'd like to read and sign the document too..." She finally piped up, looking at Zeke and holding her hand out for a pen. The action took the pilot by surprise, eyes widening as he looked from Tatiana to Zeke.

Zeke put his pen down, Tatiana's name unsigned on the line.

"You most certainly can. I can make a note of it in your file - all I need is a name, address, and contact information."

The vet was pleasantly surprised by Trox's desire to create a 'godparent' of sorts that would take care of Tatiana should anything befall him. This was something of a first for Zeke. Surely everyone had a person in mind who they wanted to bequeath their Raevan to if something happened to them, but this was the first time a Guardian asked this particular question. It only made the vet like Harrison Troxel more and he was all too happy to oblige.

"Obviously you'll want to tell them about this so they aren't hit in the face with it if anything should happen, but--"

Tatiana interjected then and cut Zeke off. Like Troxel, her demand was met with a bit of wide eyed wonderment, but Zeke was a little quicker on the ball. He smiled at the Frei and then couldn't help but chuckle. How curious this one was! Looking at her Guardian, the vet winked and then popped open a drawer on the desk. A single blue Post-It note came out and was then stuck to the top right hand corner of the document, where upon Zeke made an 'x' and followed after it with as straight a line as he could make.

"Sure! How about right there?" He tapped the line he had made and turned the pen over for the Hamsa to take. No harm in humoring the newborn, especially in such a manner.

"It's not on the document- it could be lost or discounted...." Tatiana exclaimed, furrowing her brow at the blue post it note and bit her bottom lip.

"Not so, Tatiana," Harrison smiled as he pulled a sheet of paper from the memorandum notebook her name was forged on, "You see I'm an acting witness. As is Zeke. So between both of our words it will count."

"How can I trust you to vouch for it?" Tatiana inquired, slowly moving over to the document. She tilted her head, her veil slipping to the side and making a pleasant sound of chimes.

"Well that's on you. We'll build trust but I'd hope you'd trust me. We've got a long road ahead of us." Harrison crouched down with a pen in his hand writing out two contacts for the file. On the sheet he wrote the date followed by the following text.

This document will serve as demands for temporary placement of the Raevan Tatiana Mae Troxel to the following trustees should I, Harrison Reed Troxel, fall incapacitated by any means to care for her.

      Temporary placement to:
      Elizabeth & Michael Troxel
      314 MacLean Lane
      Barton, 5118ZQ9
      Phone: (189) 225-3498

      Godparent:
      Camille Ellemond Moore
      Temporary Address
      131 Owl Head Rd
      Barton, 5118ZR1
      (189) 349-6669

This document remains in effect until LAB 305 ATTN Zeke Farris is contacted by a legal authority in directive of Harrison Troxel.

    Witness x_____________
    Tatiana Troxel

    Signed,

    Harrison Troxel

"Here, Tatiana why don't you be the witness over here. You can practice your signature then you can sign your file..." Harrison pursed a smile, standing once more and shoved his hands in his pockets regarding Zeke. He gave a light shrug and bobbed his head, "I'll have my lawyer draft up an official document to mirror this hand jammed one. In the packet I'll send y'all a copy of my life insurance paperwork and will so everything is neat, disbursed and organized."

Harrison lived and breathed paperwork but only because it was smart and his life was indeed at constant risk. The whole pilot thing went to that. Tatiana, his parents and Tatiana would be his sole beneficiaries of over a million or so dollars should he bite it. It's the least he could do. And Tatiana would stay in a familiar environment, either with his parents or Camille. She wouldn't be booted into a system and rehomed- that was his biggest fear. Cam himself had fed into that system back in Louisiana and he had no kind words. Harrison had been far more fortunate.

Tatiana poured over the documents, tilting her head every which way as she considered the statements and words. This was all pretty heavy stuff. And on her first day too. It made her think. It was logical. She signed the witness statement- looking down at the spelling of her name before slowly penning out her 'signature' in easy rolling ink.

"Like this?" She asked, holding the document up for Zeke to look over. He seemed to be the expert on Lab related documents although Harrison was proving himself to be quite knowing in legal things. "I think my name looks pretty like this..."

"And I'm a staff member here, one who's in charge of filing all this stuff, so it won't get lost or discounted on my watch." The veterinarian winked, watching the interactions between newborn Raevan and newly minted Guardian with ever growing amusement.

When Trox stood up and spoke to him, Zeke nodded. "Sounds good to me. Just send it over whenever you can and we'll take care of the rest from there!" He opened his mouth to continue - though his words would have been off topic, wanting to know the pilot's opinion of his sassy and inquisitive new daughter - but then Tatiana was before him again, showing off Trox's handwritten paperwork and her signature upon it. Taking the sheet from her the vet gave it a once over. Everything appeared to be in order and it was blessedly free of the legal mumbo jumbo that was generally nonsensical. Just above Trox's name sat Tatiana's on the witness line and it was there the vet's smile quirked.

"Just like that. And you're right; it looks very pretty on paper." He turned the sheet over to Trox for the other man to see. When it was returned, the paper would go right into the file for safekeeping until the real deal was turned in. "I think you can sign your file now if you're ready to. Once you do that, we'll call this a done deal and you'll be ready to go home!"

He wondered how she would react to that.

“Then I can go home… Where is home exactly?” Tatiana posed the pen but was curious as to what exactly she had gotten caught up in. She glanced over at Harrison and delicately tilted her head in query.

“It’s about 45 minutes south of here. We’ll take my car to get there. I’ve got dogs that are all very friendly but might be a shock to the system,” Harrison said, pulling out his BlackBerry- reading over an email that had been sent from work. He scrunched his nose and shook his head, “And you can meet your uncle.”

He missed the moment of confusion and scrutiny at him pulling his phone out- namely because she had no idea what it was and why it got his attention. And why was he talking to it, not her when he was clearly addressing her.

“Excuse me, my face is right here,” She said pleasantly enough, finding this exchange humorous and giving a contained chuckle. She felt something rise in her stomach.

“Sorry! Sorry-- I told my work that I’m taking leave so I can yenno… Meet you, get you situated.” He shook his phone showing his email screen, a lot of bolded unread emails. “They obviously haven’t gotten the picture yet.”

“It’s fine, I didn’t mean it to be rude I was-”

“Heckling. It’s fine. You’ll fit in great!” Harrison stated, gently reaching forward and wrapping his hands around Tatiana’s, “Lets sign that paperwork and get you out of here. Maybe some less authentic clothing?”

“I-what?” Tatiana raised a brow and looked towards Zeke for clarification. She gave a nervous smile before she reached down and began replicating her signature.

“You’re gorgeous and beautiful however I will introduce you to cotton, flannel and oversized sweatshirts.” Harrison gave Zeke a wink and shook his head gently, “And we’ll stay in, watch a movie and I don’t know… I’ll take up braiding or something.”
