Gale made a face. "I'm not usually inclined to keep my opinions to myself, as you might have noticed," he said dryly, sliding a glance towards Otto with his eyebrows raised in mild amusement. "Especially not when Caelius is involved. It's just, er...a bad habit."
He shuffled his feet, and then sighed, figuring he might as well admit it.
"I said one too much this time, though. He's demoted me."

"That's gunna get you killed." Otto reprimanded bluntly, keeping direct eye contact with the shorter hunter. There was no maybe about it. He was lucky so far. Even Otto was lucky to be alive. The only reason he wasn't dead was because of Sam, funny enough. "Demoted. Well, count your blessings, I guess. Could have been worse." He was convinced Gale was an idiot more than ever. The guy had too much pride and ego. It really would get him killed. Hell, anyone Otto knew got done in eventually, right? "Keep your trap shut, moron. It ain't worth it."

Gale scowled. "You think I don't know that already? It's just something I can't help right now - like you being a git," he added peevishly, though it was a half-hearted insult. "I just need to find the right balance between saying what I think and being reckless."
Otto was right, though; it could have been much worse than a demotion. Stormy had said the same thing, and he had to keep telling himself that. Gale rolled his eyes.
"Like you ever know when to keep your trap shut," he said.

"******** is a git?" He honestly didn't know. Gale and Rep tended to speak a whole other language. Damn weirdos and their made up words. "The balance is easy. Don't say sassy s**t when it's Caelius in the room. Provin' a point to him is like stickin ur head in a bears mouth and screamin' EAT ME." Otto gave a smirk that lasted less than a second, narrowing his eyes at the former blond. " Tch. I know when I need to keep my mouth shut if my life is on the line." Otto grouched in a drawl. "S'called self preservation."

"A git is you," said Gale, which clearly did not answer Otto's question, but it gave him a sort of strange satisfaction in annoying him all the same.
"Well, I don't know if it helps your self-preservation at all," said Gale. "but I could use the practice, so...wanna spar?"

"Fine." Otto wasn't about to turn down a spar. Especially not now that he was a Sun. And against Gale would be a pleasure. If he couldn't out sass him, he'd out match him. The teen turned and headed towards the fields. He made a mental note to try and find out what the Hell a git was after.

Gale followed along behind Otto because at least with a spar, they might just be able to blow off steam.
And finally figure out that Gale was definitely better and stronger than Otto.
"Ready?" he asked, once they were out on the training fields and Jinhai was summoned and settled in his hands. "I won't go easy on you just because you're taller than me now."

"Don't even pretend you'd go easy on me. If you do it'd be a ********' insult." Otto drawled, summoning the six foot boomerang from the necklace totem. One thing he enjoyed about fighting Gale was their weapon types. Both long distance. Melee was fine, but Tenya was meant to sail through the air. It felt better that way. More natural. Up close and personal with a weapon of that size was just clumsy and awkward.

Gale smirked.
"I'd never go easy on you," he said delicately. Then he added, just to be obnoxious, "Besides, if I went any easier on you than I already have been, you'd be a piece of pulp by the time I was finished."
This, of course, was a load of baloney, but there was still a last bit of teasing left in Gale.

"You're ********' full of it." Otto felt the sudden blast of a bullet graze his shield. One thing he needed to learn was how to anticipate and dodge a damn bullet. This was as good a time as any. He hurled Tenya forward, her form thrashing across the grassy field, sailing toward Gale and his weapon. HP: 52 / 60 DMG: 7

The boomerang caught him around the side, sending Gale staggering left. He scowled, righted himself, and brandished the rifle, firing off a few shots in Otto's direction.
"I'm not full of anything," he said. "Just confident in my abilities and certain of yours."
Too bad his next shot would barely graze Otto.

HP: 51 Damage: 2 (he caught Gale's fail ITS CONTAGIOUS) Otto either dodged a bullet or Gale just started to suck a whole lot. The blond teen sneered at his former rival's taunting words and threw his weapon back at him again. Tenya's edges caught against the ground, sending dirt and grass flying as it shredded it's way toward Gale.

Gale managed to (mostly) dodge Otto's next attack, but he gave Otto a scowl just for good measure, his feet shifting to keep his balance. "You'll have to do better than that," he said, and though his expression was basically a glower, his tone of voice was relatively good natured.

HP: 34 WTF GALE Damage: 8 Otto let out a sudden grunt as he was pelted with a powerful shot. Nearly knocked off balance as he shook off stars, the blond readied Tenya over his shoulder. If he didn't know any better he could swear that b*****d meant to kill him. With two firm rotations, Otto released Tenya, letting the boomerang whirl towards Gale.
