All she remembered was falling. She screamed a bit too, but that wasn't something she exactly decided to remember.
All she felt was that clutching pain in her chest once more, only this time for a different reason. She couldn't protect them.
With a gasp, she woke as her hands scrambled around to grasp anything, something that would help ground her in this reality. As it was, all she found was a rock.
Oddly, that rock helped. But she remembered.
"...s**t." She muttered, realizing as she sat up that she was back at the start of the weird maze thing. She needed to tyr catching up again.
Nothing had happened... but Bix suddenly felt faint and toppled backwards down the same hole that Ceres had fallen in.
He squeezed his eyes shut and clasped his pendant. Mina, momentarily, happily enjoyed the feeling of falling. It was as close to flying as she'd ever be again.
"... Son of a b***h." He muttered beneath his breath, drawing Tivadar out so that he could begin prodding the stairs ahead of him carefully with his weapon.
This turned out to be a bad idea, which he soon found out when he reached a narrow path on the stairs with jagged mirror glass on either side of him. His eyes shot wide open and he was brought back to reality by a wave of pain as a blossom of blood started to form along the tear in his sweater.
He paused on the sturdiest stair he'd been able to find for a moment, removing his scarf so that he could use it as a makeshift bandage to tie around his middle to try and stop some of the bleeding. He hissed, mentally adding one more scratch to the list of many before taking the final two steps up to the peak of the stairs, just as hesitant to step forward as he was to look back to see what had happened to the other two.
There wasn't really anything dainty about the squeak of terror that came out of her. Grabbing the wrist of the hand that violated her, she turned around about to punch whatever thing decided to grope her...
Only instead to heave a HUGE sigh, mid motion as she stopped. But was it a sigh of relief, or one of irritation? "Bix." She pulled on his wrist, trying to heave him to his feet. Otherworldly strength woo. "Wheres Arland?"
Bix really should have known better and had a bit of a horrified face when Ceres spun to hit him. Mina would cushion the blow for him but he was really hoping not to get punched.
Thankfully the moment passed without being struck. "Not sure.. possibly didn't fall into the hole of death?"
gaia_crown [ Round 2: ] All players now continue into a hall of shattered mirrors, accompanied by architecture fitting of your chosen location. Ruins walled with mirrors, simple shards of glass propped against cave walls, etc.
- All players roll 1d100 to determine their result. Roll 1-25: It appears that you've lost your way, and the halls get darker and darker with every turn. Keep rolling, and subtract 3 Stamina because of how long it took to find your way. Roll 26-50: You are entranced by your own reflection in a nearby mirror. A whispering runs through your mind, full of all your doubts and fears and-- you snap out of it. Keep rolling, and subtract 1 Stamina. Roll 51-70: The corridor ends rather abruptly, opening into a steep drop. However, there's a ladder, and it leads to another level of the same kind of hallway you were in before. Weird. Keep rolling, and subtract 1 Stamina. Roll 71-100: You manage to make it through the hall of mirrors unscathed. Continue to Round 3.
With Arland not just appearing, like he and Ceres had, Bix sighed and nodded ahead.
"We should catch up." He rested his hand briefly on Ceres back and pressed ahead of her this time. Of course as soon as he glanced back to make sure his girlfriend was following, he found himself lost in blackness once more.
"Bix! Glad to hear it, man." He called back, a clearly pleased but also somewhat pained smile on his face. "If you're going to try making your way up here be careful. I mean... More careful than just the trying not to fall through the stairs."
He wasn't sure if the other would be able to see that he was favoring his side slightly or not, but he was ready to get out of Dodge. "Figured I'd wait and see if either of you two made it back before going forward. I think I found what we're after!"
