One of the deeper 'puddles' by the entrance to the cavern had actually been part of an underground lake making up the base of the ruins that the two had traveled through. It had served as a cushion for Arland's fall as well as a method of delivery for seeing to it that his body was returned to the first step of their journey leaving him washed up face first on the makeshift bank his white coat standing out in the darkness.

He slipped and slid on the wet rocks as he ran back though the caverns and almost missed the splotch of white. A strategic (ie: it was that or fall on his face) arm wiggle stopped him in his tracks and he picked his way over toward the edge of the puddle. "Land ... hey." Leaning down he nudged the other man' over. "Please be conscious. You're too heavy for me to carry when dry, let alone sopping wet." Not that he wouldn't try but his leg hurt and he wanted out of this place.

He sputtered as he was rolled onto his back, choking on a breath before rolling over onto his side to continue coughing for a moment. His entire body ached like heck... But aching was better than not aching. Not aching, with a fall like the one he'd taken, likely would've meant death. "... Th'hell am I?" He croaked after sputtering again, groaning as he shifted to try and push himself up only to have his feet slide out from beneath him on the slippery slate rock.

Catching one of Arland's arms he pulled the other up onto slightly drier rock so he could at least not slide back into the water. "Back at the entrance ... i think. Hope. You fell and I guess the water washed you up here. Might want to give it a sec before you stand up. You're dripping." He crouched down, watching the other to make sure he was okay. "No water in the lungs?"

"No, I'm good... I'm good." He nodded, brushing Inoke off slightly as he pushed himself up to his feet before wriggling out of his sopping wet coat. He tossed it onto the ground by Inoke's feet before pulling off the sweatshirt that he'd been wearing under it, leaving him standing there in cargo pants that now weighed at least double and a drenched undershirt.
"Watch my coat... I'm going to have at this thing again. If I'm not back in 30... Get the hell out of here?" He ignored that his foot slid on the rocks again as he stepped passed Inoke, certain that the other man was about to shout all number of things at him but determined to try at least one more time. The fall hadn't killed him, at least, so why not.

He raised a brow at Arland stripping off his coat and sweat shirt and was about to ask if he was getting a show when the other started back toward the cavern. "Um, wait ... what? You're half drowned I don't think that's a good .... ******** you're not listening."
He sighed and picked up land's coat before wringing out a sleeve. "If you fall again I am not dragging your soaking wet a** out! You can sleep here" He shouted after the other.

Arland could hear Inoke's protests behind him, but the other was correct in his statement that he wasn't listening. There was an irritated determination steeling the look on his face as he called Tivadar back to his hand, using the weapon as a walking stick to help him feel his way through the mouth of the cavern on his way back to the hall of mirrors that he had breezed through the first time.

This time he made his way through without the light to guide him, eyes open and alert as he waited for something to leap out at him, cautiously prodding at the floor ahead of him. He was starting to get a feel for what Inoke had gone through on his trek through; the light had changed things.
In the darkness he made a wrong turn, rounding to a stop just short of a drop with a ladder just off to the side. "S'gotta be better than down." He muttered, shrinking Tivadar back down to charm size before tucking him into his pocket so that he could make use of both hands to climb.

Effect: The corridor ends rather abruptly, opening into a steep drop. However, there's a ladder, and it leads to another level of the same kind of hallway you were in before. Weird. Keep rolling, and subtract 1 Stamina.

"Hahaha... ********." He laughed to himself, shaking his head slowly as he reached the second landing, a dead end and another ladder. He paused only long enough to catch his breath before continuing onward.

At the top of this ladder he found the same landing that he had reached the first time and he paused to wonder how he hadn't noticed it before. In different circumstances he might be interested in coming back to map the place... Not this time, though.
This time he just wanted to take on the stairs.

Arland used Tivadar to feel ahead of him this time, learning from his last mistake. The first few steps went much better, giving him a chance to glance back and look at his progress with a nod of satisfaction.

The smile didn't last long, though. Something reached up and snatched him by the leg and he began to lose his footing. Claws had just started to sink into his leg, slicing into skin as he brought Tivadar down firmly onto the attacker to free himself, scrambling onward.

He took an extra second to catch his breath after that, watching for any further advances or attacks before pulling himself up the stairs again, cursing at the sting of the cut on his calf.

Arland tensed after turning back to the stairs, swearing for a second he heard something behind him. He was so close, could almost feel the energy and excitement pooling ahead of him. He just had another step...
In his eagerness edged with traces of fear at what might be closing in on him again, Arland's foot caught on the edge of a stair that wasn't quiet there, the rest of the rock crumbling beneath his footing again.
The rush was still the same, terror gripping him once more as he fell down through the darkness, this time hitting the water harder than he had before from a slightly higher distance.
