Jerry flushed as she rose, brows raised, "You... you think so?" Gosh.

"Chantelle," He corrected as she sat, scooping up the honey-bear to squirt it's sweetness in mass amount into the mug. "And I sure hope so! She's been very busy lately with division stuff but I think she'd be amazing! If... if I can get together an orchestra, she'd do fantastically taking over the piano for me..."

Jerry's smile faded slightly, looking awkward and depressed as she mentioned the name.

Despite their arguments... he had always liked Wash. He was a good man.

He shouldn't be thinking about him in a past-tense sense. For all they knew, he could still be out there. He prayed, anyway.

"Y-yeah... yeah. I um." He cleared his throat.

His expression turned relieved, "Th-that I can do!" and he set his cup down to hurry over to where his pile of hand written music sat, picking one he felt suited their mood's desires and went to sit at his waiting keyboard. It began with a simple jaunty melody, which he repeated as he spoke, "This one's from the beginning... when the trainee's first introduced and sets the stage for the story-" followed by a few chords as he sang out,

"Now, some of us may have awoken
from one horror to the next,
a life of strife and suffering,
each shadow cast and vexed!
Some from innocence and comfort,
our lives barely just begun,
But those demons we face daily
suck out our childhood's fun.

Now here at Deus ex Machina
We're here for the greater good,
Through our hard work and sacrifice,
Humanity's safety is construed.
No matter where we've come from,
Our goal is just the same!
Within our work we prioritize,
and each division has a name...!"

The last line changed tempo, clearly leading into a shift in tune.

Jerry's face went red again as he let the music piddle off into the rest of the song instrumentally. He paused his playing with one hand to push his glasses up his nose, "I suppose so... ahahaha... it.. I feel better when I play, that's for sure." He turned the page of his music, "It... it sounded okay so far? I'm hoping it'll... it'll be therapeutic for everyone. Whether they hate it or love it."

He stopped his playing, brows knit as he watched her across the keyboard. "It's more family than a lot of us have ever had," He offered quietly. Jerry's hands moved to his lap, thumbs twiddling nervously for a moment before he quickly went back into playing, a soft, optimistic series of chords. "I definitely thought this would be good for the Kokoro, as they say!" They being mostly Allan, "I'm never going to get funding for this unless we raise it. I keep thinking about training angles to pitch it to the department as a write-off, you know? In the end I figured a bake-sale would be a much safer way." He punctuated this with a play-off set of notes ending in a flat and a grin.

"I don't know yet," He smiled back, relief as he saw her smile as well, "Solia's taking care of the costumes, I dont' know if she's going to pay for them out of pocket or what but I'd feel really bad making her do that- then there's the sets, any props we need... I should really do an estimate... I've never organized something like this before! But... but it's been a lot of fun, definitely. Breaks up the monotony of constantly training, that's for sure! Maybe I should write Allan a proposal..."
