Oh, wow, what the jack had she stirred up? Poke had no idea how everything went from scarentime cards to Riyo's head on the table talking about a deep seated need to be valued. It wasn't as if she couldn't understand it. Everyone wanted to be valuable to someone else, that much made sense. And if you were someone who had never been valuable to anyone else then it would of hurt like a b***h.
But then could she really understand that? She had people who valued her. Her family, her friends, there who people who thought she was a worthy person. Apparently Riyo didn't have any of this, if what she said were to be believed.
Questions began to pop into her mind, but she pushed them away in favour of coming up with a response to the bakenko. It wasn't easy. If Riyo couldn't put into words her own feelings, how the heck could she comfort her? Brawns over brain, man, she wasn't meant to be a deep thinker.
"...Well, which is worth more?" She eventually said. "To be needed by him andhurt in the process, or to not be needed by him and not get hurt?" She brushed a strand of hair behind her head and closed her eyes as if this would help her to think harder. "But then you could always talk to him about it. Get him to not hurt you and stuff." A long paused followed, before she opened her eyes and leaned forward. "...Oy, you do mean like, mentally right. Not as in like, he's punching you or anything?"
