Maybe it was the alcohol effecting him or maybe she was truly prophetic, but Richard found himself mystified by her words and half wondered if she was an angel that descended down from the heavens to help him. First of all, it was about time, and secondly, she was certainly the sexiest angel he ever did lay his eyes on. Granted he hadn’t actually seen any angels so she was the sexiest by default, but that wasn’t a bad thing. “Words of wisdom, m’dear… you should write a book… numbah one best seller!”

And of course, she was right. Richard was never the type to take a sip and spit it out. When he took a sip of the wine, he swallowed, and sought to drain the cup before moving on to the next sample. That’s just how Richard was and Cherry easily saw through him. There were ways around her question and for the first time that evening he really wished he hadn’t have consumed so much… how would one best answer that question without sounding… well… dirty, or like a rapist? Because he most certainly was NOT. “Hm… then… I’d ask nicely… and sport the biggest pout my scraggily face can muster… would that work?”

It wasn’t until after they had gotten out of the elevator that he remembered that he had two dogs. One really big Irish wolfhound and a rambunctious and growing quickly harlequin Great Dane. They managed to get halfway down the hall before he mumbled to her, unable to remember if he addressed this matter with her or not. “Uh… you’re not… allergic to dogs, right? ‘Cuz I got two of ‘em… and they’ll love you.”

Cherry smirked for a little while. Despite all what was going on, she was strangely enjoying herself somewhat. After a small giggle, her eyes peered at him with the twinkle of a little mischief in them. "Oh, is that right? Well... in that case, I might just have to say yes. Just so I can see this gorgeous display of a pout your mouth can give me." Ok. Maybe she was playing up hope for him a little much. The delicious brunette decided she liked this guy. She made a note to remember his address. At the least, she hoped they would meet up sometime when he was sober.

Dogs? "It happens that I'm pretty neutral in regards to any animals. I don't hate any nor super love them. It does seem to happen that a lot of my friends are dog people. Must be something about those sorts of people that appeal to me. I might have to see if I can figure out just what that is."

It was true. When she tried to think of the guys who she spent more than one night or a date with, many of them had pets. Most of those had dogs. From the sounds of it, these might be some of the biggest dogs of any of her friends though. "Well, sure cutie pie. Who doesn't love me? Like I told you before; I consider anyone who says they don't to be liars."

She pulled the keys out of her top and looked at the back of it as she looked at numbers on the doors. As they got close to it, she could hear them running around behind the door. "Um... what's the chances they are big dogs and will jump up on us and knock us over?"

If that happened, she'd probably fall on her new found friend here. She also then remembered her skirt was a wee thing and likely to not handle a fall to the floor really well. Oh well... Too late to turn back now. She was in it to win it.

Oh, how he was looking forward to making it to his bed or even the cough right now. Hell, even the floor to his apartment would have been an acceptable resting ground, given his pathetic, inebriated state. So long as he was laying in a position where he wouldn't drown in his own vomit and maybe use both of his four-legged companions as either a pillow or blanket, then all would have been well. And how grateful was he to Cherry for getting him this far... the warning about his dogs would have been a good start in paying her back for her hospitality.

"Oh, well... good. Because I'm sure they'll love ya... Dummy 'specially... she'll lick you all up..." Almost there, he told himself, almost to home sweet home. Almost to seeing his two ever so loyal and happy to see him companions. Almost to collapsing onto the floor and pretending he didn't get his a** kicked out of a bar and dragged home by a very lovely and saucy lady, though he wouldn't mind not forgetting her. Yes, that'd be the one highlight of his evening... he leaned forward and almost slammed his head against the door when she reached for the keys but somehow he managed to spare himself from adding to his embarrassment that evening. In response to her question, he replied in earnest, "Baldwin? Never... Dummy? Yeeeeep... but let me in first... that'll spare you the dog-hair on yer dress."

The door had been opened and Richard tried to push himself forward, hoping that his dogs seeing him would be enough to appease their excitement and spare poor Cherry from suffering from any embarrassment from the two hounds. As predicted, Baldwin was at attention and his tail wagged, but he remained at his post, leaving the excited Great Dane pup to yelp and leap forward, hoping to make it into her master's open arms and not at all aware or caring that he wasn't in the most stable of positions right now. "Daddy's home- now don't... NO NO NO, DUMMY NO!"

He scrambled to catch her without releasing his hold on Cherry, but it was one or the other. Release Cherry and go crashing down with his dog, or take Cherry down with him... in the end, he couldn't dislodge himself from Cherry and he went tumbling backwards, hoping that she'd be able to escape this soon to be awkward predicament.

"Oooohhhh" What a tangle that was. Her plucky nature coming into play yet again. She was about to turn around and drop her holding up of this man as to side step and avoid the collision. Yet, she didn't move fast enough. She had turned around all right and was about to go, but the falling still fell on her lower legs pulling her down. If it hadn't been for the fact her lady loves were so boyant and bouncy, her face would have just kissed the floor. This wasn't the first time her pillows had saved her in such a fashion.

Quickly, her arms came out to flank either side of her face with a, "Hnnnnggg." She tried to push herself up and move around. At first, pushing up the front of her body, she could peek behind to see him pinning her lower legs. Hmm... Then, she laid back down and attempted to move her body the other direction, and she bent her knees pushing herself backwards. This move didn't account for either of a couple things. One remembering the short skirt and minimal coverings underneath, or two, that the dog was still there.

She then could feel the sniffing on her. Oh snap. Cherry began to attempt to move around a little more frequently to loosen her legs. When she had enough to sit up on her knees, she realized she was still stuck. If she were to sit, she'd sit on his face. Well, not that she had special objections to that sort of thing and all. Then, she stopped moving. "I might need you to roll off my legs, hun." She was going to also tell him that she hoped he liked the show, but she wasn't' sure if that would sound too cheeky.

Then there was the Great Dane's nose up in her face sniffing around and in her hair. "Well, hey there!"

Well, this was a disaster.

Well, more so for Richard's ego than anything else, as he was too pisspoor drunk to really feel the impact of the fall, though he was certain that he'd have physical bruises to match the ones decorating his ego soon enough. Until then, though, he felt nothing but the warming of his cheeks, and he was more upset at the sight of Cherry's fall than his own. Damned that dog!

And damn her indeed, as the Great Dane puppy, already close to her full size and flopping around with her awkwardly oversized paws, was looking for a face to kiss, unaware of the chaos she had just caused and seeking to spread her love to her master and the kind lady that he pinned. Richard held back his anger as he twisted around to fuss at her as Dummy moved to lick Cherry's face, though it wasn't just how adorable his dog looked that caused him to pause. No, he got a good look at something nice, and as damning as it might have been, he was too drunk to stop the grin from spreading across his face.

Nice...

Her request to move was not ignored, and Richard did his best, rolling away as best as he could and almost faceplanting into the wall for his efforts. Soon enough, her legs were free, and he tried to reign back his dog before she caused anymore trouble, clinging onto her collar and attempting to pull her back. "No, no, Dummy, that's a bad thing you did, a bad, bad thing! Now c'mere... this is Daddy's friend and she is NOT to be tackled! You understan'?"

Of course the dog wouldn't understand. She was a dog. "I'm sorry 'bout that... she's juss so excited! You alright?"

She was back up on her feet in no time. She just brushed her skirt down. She made sure her ladies were safely tucked inside the blouse. She then fluffed the ends of her hair. She then shook herself all over. "Hey... don't worry about it. It's no big deal. You're not the first person I ever knew with dogs. Just.. most of the others aren't as big. It's ok though." Her eyes looked at him with obvious empathy. Her smile said just don't worry about it.

Cherry smiled and held a hand out for Dummy to sniff her hand. She wondered if that was the dog's name or if just an affectionate moniker. "Aww.. say yeah... it was totally ok. Takes more than that to put me out of sorts." Then, she petted the girl on her head and rubbed behind her ears. When she felt she had given the dog it's obligatory greeting and respect she always made sure to give to all animals who wanted to inspect her as she entered their homes. Then, she went over to see about him and make sure her new friend was all right.

"Question is... Are YOU ok? Looks to me like maybe we better get you off of your feet. Couch or your bed?" She asked as she took his jacket off of him and set to putting his keys on a counter where they could be easily found later and hanging up his jacket on the back of his door. She didn't know if he was particular about those sorts of things. Still, it'd do. She then thought maybe it'd be a good idea to take her shoes off. She didn't want the heels to be the reason any more slip sliding mishaps happened.

She took them off and dropped them next to the couch for the time being. Then, she just took off anything extra besides the clothes on her body and wrapped them in her scarf. She set it in a bundle into one of her shoes. "Come on. Let's get you comfy and stuff."

She was no longer wondering or feeling too keyed up about how long she'd stay or when she'd go. Whatever happened-happened. Life was in motion, and she was just moving with it.

"What can I say... I like big dogs... Texan thin', to like big thing's, right?"

Between the happy licking and yips of his dogs, he at least managed to get a good look at his lovely lady friend and liked what he saw, but the dogs would not allow him to spend too much time oogling Cherry. He was late, they were worried and needy, as dogs had a want to be, and he couldn't deny them the right to want to steal their master away. Dummy was pleased with the affection she was receiving from Cherry, at least, even when her wagging tail kept smacking the drunk's shoulder in the most annoying fashion in the world. Her question would not go without an answer, and he gave a chuckle, trying to pull himself to his feet to prove his point though he was still much too drunk to stand on his own.

"Ohhhh, I'm fine, I'm fine! Jus' fine! The bed's much more comfor'ble, but... it's all the way up the stairs..." Richard tried to imagine the two of them making their way up the stairs and he couldn't imagine a funnier sight than that. As humorous as it would have been, though, he'd opt out. He was getting sick of hospital visits! She had somehow managed to slip his jacket off though he'd never figure out how, and the moment the couch was within view, Richard made an acquaintance with it. Face first, bam... he called out to Cherry, not realizing how muffled his words were thanks to the cushion his face was buried in. "Make yourself at home... lemme know if y'need anythin'..."

Not that he was in the condition to be a good host... he wasn't even sure if he had enough energy to reward her for her efforts this evening. The thought alone, though, gave him a small burst of energy, enough for him to move his head and flash the gorgeous brunette a wide smile. "Y'can stay... if ya want... there's plenty o'room on this couch. Y'know... once the dogs settle."

Once their owne was inside, the dogs had returned to a more normal habit, with Dummy ravaging her chew toy and Baldwin coming to sit at the front of the couch where Richard laid, rubbing his heavy head against the arm that hung off the edge and making it clear that he was commencing guard duty. There was no sign of hospitality from Baldwin towards Cherry, as the dog was quite used to visitors, and he wagged his tail slowly as he looked at her, curious as to who she was and if she intended to stay. Much like his owner... he hope she'd stay.

Cherry just smiled helplessly. "So I've heard. They say everything is bigger in Texas, so why not their dogs too, right?"

Her eyes following him and his dogs around. Then, her eyes looked around for the stairs. Oh Geez... stairs. The trip up to this floor had been made easy by an elevator. When he fell into the couch, she winced. In doing that, she covered her eyes with her hands. She peeked through cracks in them to make sure he was done falling down. When he seemed like it, she went over to try and help adjust him.

She wanted to be herself and tell him a something she needed that only he could give her. Any other time, she probably would have, but she felt almost like she would be taking advantage of someone. Then, she thought maybe if she just sobered him up a little bit.

"Aw, thanks cowboy. How hospitable of you! I don't often stay the first time I meet someone. In your case, I'll make an exception. " She ran a hand through his hair and leaned forward to make sure he wasn't going to fall or roll off of the couch. "I like you."

Then, she scuffed off into the kitchen and looked around till she could find some coffee. She set to brewing him. She was gonna give him coffee till he was a little better. Maybe throw him in his tub? Then, she stood there rinsing out a mug to pour his coffee into as she thought maybe just start with the coffee. See how he was doing.

Maybe she'd wait till the morning, and then if he was ok, she'd dump him in his tub then. Did he even have one? Not all people who had flats or apartments had both showers and tubs.

Richard may have had little pride in admitting where he was born and raised, but he couldn't deny truth. He had been in this situation enough times to know better than to resist when someone else was assisting him. Like a ragdoll cat, he laid limp and loose, allowing her to adjust him, all the while keeping his face buried in the cushions and hating to admit that while his pride was suffering from this blow, he rather liked being tended to... he chased the thought away. No, he wasn't a child! He wasn't going to use someone like this, not when they would have been much more useful under the sheets.

And he had a feeling she'd be might fine under those sheets...

The thought was so pleasing that he'd forgive her for calling him cowboy, just this once... and besides, she said she liked him, and that was definitely something that Richard liked to hear. Considering just how much he felt the world was conspiring against him as of late, it was always a blessing when someone was more willing to help him than kill him or screw him over. Maybe she was using him for something in the long run, but so long as it didn't harm him or his dogs, he'd be a happy pawn...

"D'aw... I like you too..." She left go to brew some coffee, with a curious and ever eager for love Dummy following after her, and Baldwin took his spot at the foot of the couch, to guard his own while he slept. Richard told himself not to fall asleep, and he tried to fight... but he was just so tired. He needed that coffee, or maybe he just needed Cherry. "Five sugars... all the sugar, sugar..."

The irony in his need to not take advantage of her and play the gentleman was just that if the situation were reversed. She wouldn't do the right thing at all probably. She was the girl mothers warned their sons about. At times, if devouring men could be considered a hobby; that would be the one she was most prolific with. People called other available singles out there fish in the sea, and she was a shark or some other sort of predator in there. The moment she caught onto any interest from someone. She'd milk it for all it was worth.

Even if in the end, someone wasn't going to be willing to have sex with her. She'd still press forward to obtain all the praise and adoration they could give her. In some cases, she would resign to settling to just be their most favorite person ever. Right then she looked back at him smiling. For a stranger, he didn't feel like a stranger much. She felt very comfortable and at home with him.

She then said something that she wasn't sure if he'd hear her say or not. Between her being at the counter and him on the couch, she poured the coffee in a mug. She then saw Dummy at her feet. Cherry again glanced at the red haired man who wanted all the sugar in his mug. She set hte mug on the counter long enough to greet the dog. "You want to know a thing about me, lovely miss Dummy? I like being people's favorite person. Not being a favorite is almost the exact same as being hated by them. Luckily for me, I seem to have a good luck for happening to like people who also like me." She gave Dummy generous scratches behind the ears, under the chin, and along the front of her back.

Turning to put the sugar in the mug, Cherry stood in front of the couch staring at Richard with an earnest feeling. She set the mug on the ground as she squatted to be more on the level where he was laying. She brushed a hand through his hair smoothing it down and back. "Go ahead and sleep if you need to. I promise you've never had a friend like me ever. I have a feeling we will get on famously. I know that there are some hurts in life that never go away, but I will help you. Not just right now either. Anytime you need me. Just call me."

She looked for his phone as she watched him fall asleep. When she found it, she put her name and number onto his contact list. She wasn't sure what it was in him that called out to her so. Something did, and she wouldn't question it. Tonight, he got a pass. He wouldn't be treated like her normal prey. That wasn't to say that would last forever though.

Richard was no mind reader but he often humored the idea that he was an excellent judge of character, though tonight was simply not his night. For all he knew, he could have been allowing a cat burgalar right into his home, or perhaps an undercover agent that was looking to steal his energy as well as his wallet. If that was the case, then he hoped his dogs would be enough to spare him death this evening. He knew little of the woman he practically gave free reign of his home to, but what could he possibly do about it?

Sleep, apparently. He tried to combat it, but it was simply no use. The alcohol was too great, his mind too weary and his heart too heavy. Maybe he'd be consumed and die in his sleep, but somehow, it didn't bother him. He'd deal with that in the morning. Or not. Whichever.

Cherry was talking to his Great Dane puppy but he was too far gone to understand what she was saying... she wasn't giving his dog chocolate, right? He tried to muster the strength to sit up, but it was a futile effort. The mad thumping he heard from the kitchen was Dummy's thick and whip-like tail slamming against the cabinets, which meant she was happy, and that was enough to quell was small anxieties had managed to bubble to the surface for the moment. Moments later she was at his level, and the view from his angle? Simply divine...

"Oh... don't worry... I'll call you.."

Then, finally, with the thought of seeing the lovely Cherry again and the sight of her melons in sight, he finally drifted to sleep...
