Aslinn listened to Cody and took the book from him "thank you for bringing it to me." When he went to sit down Aslinn thought about offering him to join her but then she remembered that her friend was in the loop ad knew enough information that she might say the wrong thing and scare or freak out Cody. Not long afterwards Aslinn received a phone call with her friend telling her "So sorry i'm late but it seems I can't stay somethings come up and i have to go out of town for a week." She hung up the phone and flagged the waiter down telling him to bring her some hot soup.

Cody looked around as he waited for his turn, placing an order for his food but then after a bit of time, he had his own tea where he began to drink it, working on a small palm pilot on things he did at the book store, mainly checking security cameras to make sure it was okay. His uncle entrusted him with it so he did his best to keep people from breaking in.

As soon as Aslinn got her soup she ate it slowly savoring the interesting flavor. Once the soup was done she flagged the waiter down and paid her bill as well as Cody's she figured it would be best not to say anything and afterwards she quickly got up and left. She did stop by Cody's table though and thank him again. "Thank you again Cody I appreciate you bringing me my book" after that she left the cafe. She checked her watch before she decided to waist time before heading on over to her job. It was still open and she wasn't too keen on visiting it durring business hours quite yet until shed examined her employees on camera. She took the long rout roaming the town paying no attention to where she roamed until she was on the bad side of town, still roaming.

Cody looked at her when she said thank you again to him but when she had left, he was about to pay when the waitress told him that his meal was paid for. Now he realized who did which made him want to thank her so he got up and began to look for her, wondering where she went. He noticed her far away heading towards the bad side of town, an area known for having gangs and thugs, "Uh oh... she is going to get in trouble..." He said running after her, "Aslinn wait!" he tried yelling to her as he went after her.

Aslinn wasn't paying much attention to anyone, she'd slid her headphones into her ears while she roamed. She had a fair pace and she'd ocasionally stop to look at everything. It didn't take long for the local thugs to piece together that she was new and presumably lost.Several of them approached her and started talking after flashing a knife "Hand over your belongings miss and no one gets hurt" The two boys had encircled her getting her flush against a wall while they waited. When the thugs approached her Aslinn was incredibly confused at first until she saw the knife and they spoke "How quaint... you two think you can take me on and succeed in intimidating me to receive my possessions. If you truly think fighting me would be the best option then your loss." While she spoke she kept her eyes on the boys, it wasn't long afterwards that a fight broke out. Aslinn had disarmed the knife wielding boy and he was on the ground begging for mercy whilst his friend screamed for assistance before running off like a scardy cat.

Cody looked up as he saw the two gang members stop her but then he watched as she basically disarmed both and made them run off. He went closer to her, "Aslinn... what... what the heck!?" he asked adjusting his glasses wondering if he just had watched this smaller seeming woman take on two thugs bigger then her.

Aslinn hadn't gotten away totally unharmed; she'd taken a few hits that would bruise later but otherwise she had a small two inch long cut running down her arm. When Cody came over and began asking what happened Aslinn sighed. Calmly she looked at Cody before she spoke "well my dad made sure i knew how to fight. I can't help the fact they came unprepared and assumed i'd be a ditzy woman. Also them being bigger isn't necessarily a advantage over me." As soon as she said that she looked at him and smiled warmly.

Cody looked at her when she spoke, he thought it over, "Your cut is bad... we have to get it treated... unless your home is close by, I can treat it at my apartment at the book store if you want." He offered kindly to her, thinking that he would have to treat her cut since it was rather large. Cody thought it over as he noticed movement down the street and not really waiting for a response, he grabbed her arm and began to drag her out of the bad area, "Actually it sounds like a good idea anyway... sorry." He said taking her down the road and after a couple of blocks, he came to the book store and lead her inside where he checked, relocking the door, closing the metal blinds and flipping the sign to closed. He thought it over as he lead her upstairs to the apartment, "Sorry, those guys were probably going to get more guys and guns... i can understand that you can fight but lets try to avoid gun fire..." He said thinking that it was the smart thing to do.

Aslinn relaxed when Cody spoke. She listened to him while thinking about just where her apartment was. She knew it wasn't close by but it shocked her when Cody began dragging her off. "Hey!" When he got back to his place and acted parinoid she frowned while he informed her about guns. Once they were in his appartment she stood there unsure what to do or if she should sit. "Well thank you folr helping me Cody. It seems I can't stop causing you problems today. Well once the drama dies down i think ill hail a cab and go home for the night." Aslinn didn't feel like bothering cody too much she felt bad for inconviencing him.

Cody looked at her when she spoke, but he thought it over, "Its fine and honestly, I guess that this is better then sitting in the bookstore all day." He said leading her to the couch where he went and got his first aid kit. He came back and sat next to her where he began to treat the cut, "If anything, you had bought a bunch of books, paid for my lunch and made my day interesting so I think that I have been more of a burden to you." He said softly to her.

Aslinn Sat on the couch when he directed her to it. As he commented on how it was better than sitting around all day she laughed a bit. When he tended to her cut she bit her lip so she woulden't make any noises. Once he got the painful part out of the way she laughed a bit and said "no you haven't been a burden. I went to the cafe to meet someone who wound up having to go out of town. If she'd showed up i wouldn't have left and gone that way. So lets just say no ones at fault" Despite the days events she did have to say Cody was proving more and more interesting.

Cody looked at her when she spoke and he nodded to her, "Alright, it was neither of our faults... so can I get you anything." He said thinking that for now she would probably want to have some kind of treat or something but then he remembered that they had just eaten a bit.

Aslinn smiled when Cody asked if she needed anything she laughed a bit before she said "I don't think so. Do you think it's safe to call a cab now? I don't wanna bother you any longer than i need to." Aslinn knew she'd be no match for people with guns but a fist fight or two would be no problem. Aslinn assumed Cody would have a better understanding of local dynamics; truthfully she did want to get to know Cody better but it was somewhat a bet hectic of a day and she figured he'd need time to think things over and process some things.

Cody looked at her when she laughed a bit but he thought it over, "Its no problen at all, honestly today has been fun." He said softly, "Maybe next time when you come over to my apartment, it would be to watch a movie and hang out... but i believe it should be safe to hail a taxi now unoess you want to stay and hang out?." He said softly to her, he didnt see her as a burden, "Today was fun, much better then having to stare at books all day." He explained.

When Cody talked about a next time she blushed. When he said it would be safe to hail a cab she smiled. "I'd love to stay but i can't stay for a incredible length of time. I'm afraid my loft's still a mess and i've got to check on some stuff for work." When he said the day was fun she laughed a small bit before she asked him. "So why do you work at your uncles bookstore? I can't think staring at books all day is very exciting." Se didn't know what his response would be but she was more than willing to explain things on her end if he asked.
