/me /me had smiled and nodded as Murphy had taken control of the conversation with his brother. He wasn’t quite sure how to act around Kelly at the moment. His thoughts were still so jumbled after his encounter with Aydan, and he needed to get his head on straight before brought any of this up with his older brother. So he let Murphy do what she did best and then waved them goodbye as they both disappeared back into the house. As soon as he was sure that they were gone he turned around and headed into the greenbelt that ran along one side of their property. It wasn’t particularly large or thick, but as a kid it had seemed like a forest, and it had been the place Mal always went when he needed to be alone as a child. With three brothers, and overbearing mother, and a household staff, even their expansive home could seem confining at times; each of them had their own way of escaping and this had been Mal’s. He walked until he reached an old oak tree that was almost right in the middle of the belt, out of sight from the house, and sat down leading against its gnarled bark. The weight of the velvet box was more obvious against his leg in this position and he pulled it out of his pocket, popping it open so that he could look at the rock inside. Although his expression stayed neutral, inside his thoughts were running wild. “How did everything get so ******** up?” He asked it, although he didn’t expect an answer. Aydan had never had the best relationship with either of his non-twin brothers, but Mal had always assumed that as they got older he would come around. He had never considered the possibility that maybe he never would; that maybe he really was too selfish to really care about anyone else. He seemed to think that Kelly wasn’t feeling as emotionally torn up about this as he was, but Mal knew their older brother better than that, and if Aydan had ever made any effort to get to know them as well he would know that too. Mal just couldn’t understand how Aydan was so willing to throw away his family and his own wellbeing so easily; but more than he was angry or confused, Mal was worried. He was so reactionary and so short sighted that Mal had no idea what kind of lows he might reach trying to relieve the hurt. Mal hurled the ringbox away from himself, watching without satisfaction as it bounced off a trunk and tumbled under a bush. He rested his elbow on his knees and buried his head in his hands, trying to will things back to the way they were two weeks ago.

/me wasn’t sure how long he had been sitting by the tree when his phone rang. It took him a minute to fish it out of his pockets, but he answered without even glancing at the caller display. “Hirose.” He answered in his typical fashion, his expression still blank but his voice cheerful. A part of him had just wanted to let the phone go to voice mail, but he knew that he couldn’t let his issues control him like that.

/me ’s eyes widened at the sound of Murphy’s distressed voice. “Clara?” He sat up straight, a worried expression crossing his features. “I don’t have a sister. What’s going on? Are you okay?”

/me "Adyline? Clara, I’m telling you, I don’t have a sist-” he choked on his words as she continued, “Kelly hit someone? Is he okay? Where are you?” Mal wasn’t sure what was going on yet, but he was already on his feet and headed back to the house.

/me “Clara! I don’t have a sister!” What was all of this about a sister? Was she talking about one of the other girls his brothers were engaged to? He made it a cross the grounds in record time and was thankful that his car was still in the drive rather than the garage. “Are you talking about one of the girls? Was Elise or Amelia hit?” He turned on the car and his blutooth automatically picked up the call, so he dropped the phone itself onto the passenger seat. “I’m on my way. Stay where you are.”

/me blinked. Aydan? “Aydan? Kelly hit Aydan? That stupid little…” his voice caught and he let out a strangled yell, slamming his hand against the steering wheel and picking up speed (their house was a little ways out of tone and the road he was one was long, mostly straight, and generally empty, and speeding on it wasn’t uncommon but he was going fast even by his standards). Someone was going to have to tell Mum. He should have told her before he left… no, they should know the details before they tell her. “Is… is he okay?” She said ‘hospital’, that meant that they must have taken him away already. “Did the paramedics say anything?”

/me didn’t know what to do. She wouldn’t stop sobbing. Oh god. “Clara, it’s okay, everything is going to be fine. I… he… Aydan is going to be fine.” He was saying it as much to himself as he was to her. Nothing was going to happen to his brother. Not while everything was so messed up. He closed his eyes and took a calming breath as he reached the first stoplight.

/me “It’s okay Clara. It’s going to be fine. It’s okay.” He was basically babbling now, not really paying any attention to what was coming out of his mouth, just trying to be as reassuring as possible. He tried to keep his focus on the road, exhibiting an amazing amount of self-control by not tossing the rules of the road out the window in order to reach his destination as fast as possible. A little bit longer. He just needed to keep it together a little bit longer. He would be there in a few minutes and then he could get some real answers.

/me got as close to the scene as he could, but the ends of the block were closed off. He parked on the street (ignoring the meter) and hurried around the corner to where all of the activity was. He could see Kelly’s car – the window was smashed, oh gods, Aydan’s body did that – but he couldn’t see his brother. Maybe he had left in the ambulance, or he was giving a statement. “Where are you? I’m here.”

/me let out an involuntary ‘ungf’ sound as a petit figure came out of nowhere, slamming into him and forcefully expelling all of the air from his lungs. It took him a moment to realize what had happened but before he was even aware of what he was doing he has his arms around her. “Hey,” he said, gripping her tightly in a comforting fashion, “it’s okay. It’s okay.” After a moment he realized what he was doing and swiftly, but gently, disentangled them. He held her an arm’s length away from himself, hands resting on her shoulders, and bent down slightly to try and close that nine inch height difference a bit.

/me The air left Mal’s lungs again as he was slammed into once more. Damn, that girl was strong when she wanted to be. His arms hung in the air awkwardly for a moment before he brought them back down to pat lightly at her back, understanding that he probably wasn’t going to be able to detach her even if he wanted to. He looked over her, scanning the crowd for any sign of Kelly, and still not finding any. He looked down and tried to get Clara’s attention, although he didn’t try and push her away this time. “Do you know which hospital they took him to?”

Clara followed Mal out to the hospital, shifting around uncomfortably. This reminded her of the last time she'd been there with her brother. He'd broken his arm fighting with some idiots outside a bar, and she'd been the one he'd called at 3 AM to help him get to the hospital. That was not a fun day, either. She heard the news from the doctor and watched Malcolm's face intently, while trying to comfort as good as she could. At least she'd stopped crying. For now. She nodded as Malcolm told them he'd call their mother, and Clara just stood there awkwardly, unsure of what to do now.18:31

Hope When the doctor told the news, Waydan breathed...he was mostly alright. Oh. EXCEPT for the fact that his BRAIN was damaged. You know, the ORGAN that controlled the ENTIRETY of a HUMAN? Rage began to creep through Wadyan's stomach at the situation... and his cluelessness. When the doctor left he turned his blue eyes towards Kelly. Mal said he'd handle mum. Yah.. have fun with that Onee. For now, his crystalline blue eyes were glued on his older brothers face. "Mal said you were BOTH in an accident. From the sounds of it, it was pretty bad for my twin. So where are YOUR injuries?" he asked, his voice stern. Waydan spoke... and he spoke a complete sentence, longer then ten words. His eldest brother would understand the severity of the situation in Waydan's eyes. He was asking for an explanation.18:32

Kelly was not relieved in the slightest. What the doctor had just told them was everyhting he'd just inflicted on his youngest brother. True that there was some solace in the fact that he had not been killed and his condition was stable but, he could'nt find it in himself to feel glad. Elise was there beside him, and squeezed his hand reassuringly, he squeezed back, desperately needing that comfort. He couldn't dig a hole for himself to hide in any faster. They where all there now, all of the brothers, save for the one that was in a medically induced coma, and it was all his fault. He just stood there blankly speaking to the Doctor only out of propriety. "Thank you Doc. That's relieving to hear..." Wayden approached him, as it would be his right to do so. "I..." he didnt feel like it was nessary to point the bandage on his head. But he knew just how antagonizing this all seemed to be. He'd fill that role, just he'd done with many others. "Their on my car." he said hollowly admitting to the part.18:35

Mal paused in the doorway when he heard Waydan begin speaking to Kelly. Damn it, he had wanted to explain this all to him before he got here. Why did he have to ******** hand up on him. Mal turned back to rest a hand on Wayde's shoulder, trying to calm him down before the inevitable rage hit...18:36
Hope Waydan tensed at Kelly's admission. So...that's what Mal meant. Waydan ran a hand through his hair groaning. "Onee I thought you TAUGHT him to look both ways before he crossed the street?"18:36

Elise was already practically hyperventilating even before Wayd approached them; he was just like Aydan. Emotional, passionate... and this time she was on the receiving end of it. Yet again. He did not yell, but it was stern, and Elise didn't like it. She blushed copiously, now embarrassed and ashamed tht she didn't have any relevant wounds. "Don't.. don't blame Kelly.." Elise murmured. Hope He was waiting, everyone silent, and it was driving him crazy. Generally...he would have appreciated that. But there was a time and place for silence and when asking for information on how his brother got hit by a car, and by his OWN BROTHER no less... when the cop sauntered up. Waydan sighed...of course it would be actually plausible since it was a motor rel-- "...apparent suicide call... And why do you think he would have left this message with you specifically? Instead of the others?" If this were a strange fictional roleplay, Wadyan's eyes would have lit red with his rage, as his vision tunnel visioned in a red hue. Suicide call... to Kelly. Something snapped, and Waydan's head jerked. "I'll tell you why officer. Because Keeland Hirose is boning the girl Aydan's been in love with for almost all of his life. And the girl Aydan has loved all of his life took his virginity in a hotel room in Japan, then proceeded to lead both of them on until it seems she finally settled on one."
