Cara stepped out onto the ice carefully, wobbling slightly. She watched how the others around her were skating and after watching them for a moment, copied their movements, slowly moving out onto the ice.

Sage stepped out next to Cara, her paws slipping a bit but she managed to stay upright. She slid next to Cara, barking happily. She laughed in her own way, slipping and sliding on the slick ice was quite fun.

Cara looked down at her canine companion and smiled as the glided slowly around the edge of the rink.

Sage barked happily up at Cara then looked around and something on the side of the pond caught her eye. She barked at Cara and tugged at her pant legs before making her way towards the object that was partly-covered in snow.

Cara nearly fell on her butt when Sage tugged at her pants. "What the..?" She muttered. She looked at Sage then looked to where the Pokemon was going and saw the object also. "What in the world is that?" She asked herself and made her way over.

The two made their way over to the object in the snow and knelt down next to it. "It's an egg!" Cara exclaimed in shock. "What's a Pokemon egg doing out here in this weather!?" She said.

Sage sniffed the egg then curled up around it, knowing it needed to stay warm. She didn't want anything bad to happen to the baby inside.

Cara smiled at Sage and patted her head. "Good idea Sage, we need to keep it warm." Cara took off her scarf and put it around the egg also. "I wonder what kind of Pokemon it is." She sat down in the snow, placing her hand on top of the egg, observing the colorations on it. "It sorta looks like it could be a Buizel. It could also be a Psyduck considering the location..." She then picked up the egg and set it in her lap, Sage walking over and sitting in her lap adding more warmth. Cara laughed softly. "It could possibly even be a Feebas, the colors look kinda like what you would see on a Milotic."

Sage gave her an odd look that said, 'Are you serious?'

Cara laughed. "I know I know, that one is a little farfetched. I also wonder...how did it get here? Did its mother lay it then leave to get food and get caught or lost in a snow storm and wasn't able to find it again? Did our illustrious Captain leave it here for us - if he did we need to have a serious conversation - "

At the last suggestion Sage barked and growled. She had a major issue if that man left an innocent and defenseless egg out in the freezing snow and cold without any form of warmth or protection against the harsh weather.

Cara nodded, stroking the egg. "Agreed. What do you say we take this little beauty back to the cabin where we can make sure it's safe and warm, hm? And also that way we won't freeze also."

Sage barked, liking the idea.

Cara nodded and got up, carefully cradling the scarf-wrapped egg to her chest. She walked in the snow to the shed and exchanged her skates for her boots. The duo then made their way back to the cabin where Cara took off her shoes and coat then made themselves comfy by the fireplace after grabbing a blanket.

"Let's keep this little beauty warm, don't want the little one inside to be in more danger." Cara wrapped the blanket around the egg, making a nest close to the fireplace. She sat down on some pillows on the floor and Sage curled up around the egg once more. Cara could not help but continue to wonder what pokemon was in the egg and how it got to be out in the freezing elements. At least now the egg was safe.

Alexa walked over the lake and the small stand with the ice skates. She grabbed a pair that were her size and put them on. "Alright Farvardin. Time to see if I can remember how to do this. I wasn't very good back when I was little.... I hope I don't fall too much." She said standing up and wobbling. She nearly did fall over but Farvardin stood near so she could catch her balance. "Thanks."

She began to skate away taking care to not skate too closely to the others. As it was she had to pinwheel her arms a few times but ultimately landed on her rear. "Ow... oh Farvardin!" She called with a laugh. Her Houndoom was trying to walk on the ice but was succeeding about as well as she was skating. Finally Farvardin just slid on by and then ended up sprawled out on the ice having lost her own balance.

Alexa got up and wobbled but this time she managed to keep her balance. She had to pause as the wind kicked up and blew some snow in her face. After she could see again she noticed the pokemon egg. "Oh no. Did someone lose an egg?" She gasped skating/sliding/trying not to fall while moving towards it. She ended up falling down after going right on by and crawled over to it. She looked over at Farvardin as she picked it up. "I guess for now let's keep it warm. We can take it back to the cabin and ask around about it."

She took off her long red scarf and wrapped it around the egg after checking it out. It didn't have any cracks which was good. "Hm... makes me think of a Cyndaquil. Maybe it's a Cyndaquil egg. Wouldn't that be cool finding a fire type out here? But I suppose it could also be a buizel egg. That would make sense with it being here at the lake." She said to Farvardin who had finally slid over. After the egg was wrapped up she tucked it into the sling bag she had on her. "Hm.... Farvardin could you blast my gloves with a Heat Wave to heat them up so the egg can get warm?" She asked. Farvardin nodded and then blew on the gloves making them nice and toasty. Alexa took them off and put them in the bag as well, one on each side of the egg.

She then stood up and with Farvardin's help made it off the ice without falling. She returned the skates and donned her boots. Then she was off to the cabin to warm it up by the fireplace and a blanket from her bed.

"I'd like to take that egg home!"

In the dark Aya led them down to the lake watching carefully where she put her feet. She made her way around to a spot devoid for the most part of other skaters and sat down on a tattered wooden bench to Slip off her boots. The cold air touched her feet and made her shiver and she opened the warm leather of her skates slipping her foot inside and rubbing the soft exterior. She slid the other skate onto her foot and Slowly stood up leaving her boots on the ground. She slid out onto the Ice watching the darkness swirl around her.

Very Sat on the bench her eyes transfixed on her trainer. The girl was far beyond skating when she had attained the pokemon so she had never seen this part of her before. Freedom. She saw it etched into her partners eyes as she slid along the ice preparing to perform.

Chopin outpaced her human and hopped up to sit on the bench beside Very with a friendly meow of greeting. All things being equal, she'd have been happy to stay by the fire, but she found herself quite fond of these new friends.

Robin set his violin case down next to the Pokémon and watched Aya sliding out onto the frozen lake as he opened the lid. The wood of the violin was a warm brown even in the blues of late evening, and every touch made Elizabeth thrum with anticipation as she was lifted out.

It was colder since the sun went down, but nonetheless the violinist stripped off his scarf and unzipped his coat so he could rest the polished instrument under his chin.

After a few strokes of the bow to ensure she was in tune, which Elizabeth cheerfully confirmed, they began in earnest.

Robin had chosen a piece by Chopin's namesake -- a nocturne, appropriately enough. Elizabeth sang the gentle tune out over the lake, and her bowman watched to see what Aya would do.

The darkness left the moon shining down on the Ice glittering in the pale glow of the celestial body. In the afterglow of the ice the Ribbons on Aya's costume shimmered silver to accent where she was on the ice. The smooth surface shining back the moons essence just as it probably had every day for centuries.

Aya hadn't skated for years. On a lake she had only skated a few times. Her eyes gazed lustily at the simmering surface as she floated from the shore over the slick surface.

Very Cuddled into Chopin to provide more warmth for the both of them. Her super heated body sending off waves of warmth feet from the bench. She concentrated on being a heater knowing that Chopin and Robin would appreciate the gesture and her trainer would appreciate the thought. Her eyes watched the shimmering form out on the lake take off murring in a solemn appreciation.

Sliding out onto the Ice Aya felt her body return to it's previous routine. As Robin began to play she had no time to appreciate the musicians fine talents. She settled into a routine of circles on the ice to prepare herself for what was coming. Back and forth in figure eights you could see the pleasure in the girls eyes as she felt the music and began to skate. Gently in the middle of one of the figure eights she spun and preformed an axle jump. Just a small one but she could feel the excitement building within her as she skated backwards spinning across the ice.

Gaining confidence she took off faster and leapt into a butterfly jump Waving her arms above her head at the peak and landing in a pirouette spinning back into position. Laughing loudly she went into a layback before returning to doing figure eights on the ice.

Taking a moment to absorb her surroundings she skated backwards watching Robin play. She waved to him before leaping and performing a flip jump to land back down in a flying spin as the music trailed to it's end. She slid across the ice quietly to her partner and reached her arms out performing a pirouette as she came closer.

User Image Chopin purred appreciatively at Very's warmth, and gave the Vulpix a few rough licks on the cheek. She half-closed her eyes, enjoying the companionship more than watching or listening to the humans perform.

Even as Robin played, he watched Aya intently. He gasped softly at every twirl and jump, but the music never faltered. He knew his work, and this piece, too well for that. When she waved, he smiled, and bowed slightly, since he could not wave back.

Elizabeth sang out the last, wavering note, and Robin lowered his hands. He gently lay the violin across her case so he could enthusiastically applaud Aya as she glided back. "That was maginificent," he said, low but vehement, and his eyes twinkled. "There can't have been prizes left for anyone else when you competed."

The violinist glanced from Aya, to Elizabeth, to the little stand distributing rental skates, and back to Aya. "Would you like me to play for you again, or shall I make my own clumsy attempts on the ice?"

Sunny had waited for a while for the girl to respond but not getting one she sighed. "Sorry to have troubled you I hope you have a good time skating." She then turned to Mr Grim who seemed to have noticed something on the snow bank. There was something orange over there.

Sunny skated over to see an orange and blue colored egg almost covered in snow. "Is your mother around." looking around Sunny did not see and tracks or any sign of a nest. She then picked up the egg to realize that it was freezing cold. Taking off the scarf she carefully wrapped it around the egg that was in her arms. "Mr Grim please use will o wisp on the scarf."

Mr Grim used the move and the scarf started to warm up. "Ok I think it is time that we head back." With the egg in her arms Sunny skated back over to were she rented the skates and traded them in for her boots. As they headed back to the cabin Sunny wondered what was in the egg. "It must be an ice type Pokemon because of the fact it was not that deeply in the snow but then it was buried meaning the mother must have known that the snow is a great insulator. But then it could have just fallen there from the nest." Sunny had no clue what might have been hiding in that colorful egg but what ever it was it needed warmth. Taking that as a hint Sunny and Mr Grim and the egg all headed back to the cabin to get warmed up by the fire.

Laughing Aya held out her hands towards him. "Dance with me" she said silkily smiling at her companion. "You need the chance to dance there will be time for more music later."

Very laid her head on Chopins back blinking her tired eyes. There would be time for dancing later. Let the people revel in their lives for a moment.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 20, 2014 6:01 pm

User Image Robin laughed. "Dancing might be beyond me." He tucked Elizabeth safely into her case, then retrieved a pair of rental skates from the stand.

Lacing them up alone was a challenge. But Robin had seen the others doing up theirs, and so he managed eventually to get them right.

He wobbled out onto the ice. Feeling the ground slide right past his feet was bizarre, almost terrifying. His gangly height was doing him no favours in the balancing department, and on the open lake there was nothing to hold onto.

With his feet threatening to rocket out from under him at any moment, Robin crouched low and braced his hands against the ice. He looked sheepishly up at Aya. "Any suggestions?"

Chuckling Aya slid towards him. She dropped down and with a practiced hand slid his feet out from under him sending him rump first on the cold ice. Deftly her fingers moved over his skates checking them for signs of damage or wear. The rental skates were good. Not as good as hers but sturdy and showed little signs of wear.

When she finished adjusting his skates she stood and reached out her hands to pull him up. "Just follow me I have you." She pulled him in front of her across the ice. Her movements slow and deliberate. after a few moments she let him go and watched as he moved forward himself into the moonlight. "Just relax" she said swirling around him. "It's like roller blading. You don't think about it it just happens"
PostPosted: Fri Feb 21, 2014 9:00 am

User Image "Hey, now!" Robin chuckled as she manhandled him, and he fidgeted as his rear end was chilled. But he was grateful for Aya's expertise.

When she helped him up and began to pull him along, Robin found himself reveling in the effortless, frictionless glide, instead of fearing it. "I'm more worried about knocking you over, than falling myself," he told his friend. Aya was clearly well in control, however, and when she released him he managed a few strokes with minimal wobbling. "Never rollerbladed, either." But she was right; once he stopped thinking too hard about it, once he stopped trying to anchor himself to the ice, gliding along didn't feel so strange.

Chopin cracked one eye open. She watched her human's antics, unimpressed, for a moment, then tucked her nose into Very's fur.

Still wavering a bit, but more stable by the moment, Robin kept going. Wary of attempting a sharper turn, he cut a wide and imperfect circle to return to Aya. "How am I doing?" He slowed, but slid past her. "And how do I stop?"

"You couldn't knock me if you tried" She giggled.

"You've never rollerbladed before?" Aya was careful watching him to make sure he took to the ice. She skated around in a small circle as she took note of his feet and how he was moving. "Your tall so your going to want to skate with your feet further apart. Your stride isn't normally small is it?" She pulled off from the center of his circle and started a larger circle of her own around it. She sped off around him her body low and her legs further apart than her normal stride. Before her circle was complete she performed a rotation spinning her body around so she was facing the side. She then moved forward slowly and turned her feet inwards. before lightly digging the tip of her skates into the ice. "this is how a normal skater stops" she said. You won't see me do it because i don't stop that way. I usually just shed Ice to stop. But I'm smaller than you and less likely to fall doing that. In Ice dancing and Figure skating you can't stop like that it makes you look silly." She started in the circle again and after a few seconds spun to face him her feet positioned differently. "This is how I stop. You place the back of one skate behind the other. It's kind of a ballet move."

Willa strapped on the ice skates to her shoes and and stood up and took a hesitant step forward on the ice. One step-- good so far. Second step-- a bit more wobbly, but still okay. Third step-- not as good. Her feet slipped from underneath her and she fell flat on her face. Using her arms, she pushed herself up and called Baratro up. She placed her hands on him and pulled herself up before gripping his tail with both of her gloved hands.

"On the count of three, Baratro, I want you to just go swim as fast as you can." She instructed with a grin.

"Alright. One... Two... Whoa!"

Willa almost lost her balance when Baratro took off a second too quick.

"H-hey," she tried to catch her breath, "what's with the rush, 'tro-- ugh!"

The Sharpedo came to a sudden halt when he reached a small pile of snow. Willa lost her grip on her pokemon's tail and she fell on her side and slide across the ice, stopping a few feet away. She groaned in pain and took off her skates to hobble on over to Baratro.

The trainer realized the something in the snow caught Baratro's attention--- he never seemed so excited over something that was not alive. He made a move towards the snow and nudged a small, round object out of the cold pile. Willa grumbled and picked it up to keep it away from the Sharpedo.

"Shar!" He barked and swam around Willa in circles. The sight of this made her dizzy.

"Arceus... Would you stop that already?" She ordered in a stern voice. "Augh... I guess we'll take it back to the cabin and warm it up 'til it hatches..." She muttered, "My back hurts anyway..."

Once the Sharpedo has calmed down and stopped moving, he and Willa both made their way back to their room in the cabin.

User Image Robin copied Aya, taking larger strides, and was pleased to find himself traveling quickly and fairly smoothly over the ice. Then he tried to stop.

"Whoa!" He tripped over the skates and fell forward, just barely saving himself from an icy faceplant. "I'm fine. Fine!" He waved at Aya, pulling himself up to sitting. "But I think that's my cue to throw in the towel, at least for now." The violinist began to scoot toward the shore.
