"The cats can mask signatures," said Babylon brightly, surprised that Thraen didn't know this. "You need at least two of them in one place, but they can do it." You just had to find two cats and convince them you were worth it. "Bribing them helps, in my experience." Bribing everyone helped, in his experience. Or maybe bribing Zirconia helped because Zirconia was a cat.

"I don't know Nysa," he said, trying to decipher what the other knight could have possibly meant, "But I imagine he means sending things via sigil mail. We don't have any kind of cool tech like you senshi get, but we can send mail to pretty much anyone by writing their name on the message and stamping it with out crests."

He wrestled his right glove off and held out his hand, so Thraen could see the blue ring on his index finger.

"It's sort of tricky, because as far as I know, senshi can only get their mail when they power up, and they have no way to write back. Anyway, I don't care if you know my civilian name, I'll just give you my email. It'll be easier." He put his glove back on. "I swear, most of the stuff the knights have to work with is from the literal dark ages."

"I wish I knew a cat other than *********. Maybe if I fed her enough cheesecake that she was as big as two cats, it would work out." Thraen's stoney expression actually cracked a little, a corner of his mouth trying to remember how to turn-up in a joke.

He took the step closer after a moment to examine the offered hand and decoration, hovering a hand beneath Babylon's without touching. "It does seem reminiscent of the old signet rings of noble and merchant houses. "

And it sends mail? Its rather marvelous. I wonder if any regular signet rings from ages and ages ago are secretly rings of this sort from knights who had families a thousand years ago.

"Was it a family heirloom? Or were you given it after ...how do Knights come into their strength? "

Babylon snorted in a way most unbecoming of his station, but if Thraen hadn't picked up from his occasional cursing and use of the word whatever, he was far less dignified than his cape made him look. "Probably not," he said, recovering his composure but just barely. "Zirconia's a cat," he said, because it bore mentioning, "But she's a human first, and you should probably treat her like one. She's sort of a unique case. Just bring her the scotch and agree with her that the Dark Mirror Court is horrible, and she'll answer all your questions."

He adjusted his glove again, before settling that he'd never get it back on quite as well as it fit when he'd initially powered up. "I found it at my Wonder on Mercury. I'd already been a knight for a while... I think my predecessor left it hidden for me to find." And he sighed, because he'd literally explained this exact same process to someone else on the other side of campus earlier tonight.

"We awaken on our own," he said. "Our weapons come to us in an hour of need. I was attacked by a youma with a friend a few years ago, and it just popped into my hands, and I was wearing my first uniform."

He shrugged. "Magical puberty, I guess," he said.

How unique a case, I wonder. He'd seen ********* as a small, strange girl taking a cell phone out from under her hat. The human-cat conversion wasn't wholly new a concept, and more readily acceptable as not 'crazytime talk' as it might otherwise have been.

The brief synopsis was to the point and made the Super senshi glad the manx had just found him carrying home groceries at the time of giving him his pen. It was a kinder way to be introduced to the Wackyland that was the powered life overlay to the world.

The last term was effective, evocative and a bit gross in some implications. He squinched his nose, wishing he could unhear it- but no. Henshining up was going to be forever linked with voice cracking, body hair and all the other wonders of human growth physiology. "I have the email I use with Aventine I could give you? Are you certain about your civilian identity? You've only just met me."

Not that there was a snowball's chance in hell Thraen would ever corrupt willingly. The experience he'd had a lifetime ago against Captain Buddingtonite made he nervous of whether willing or no mattered. "I have neither plan nor desire to ever hurt our own. But it is still a sign of great trust."

Babylon crossed his arms over his chest, considering the email matter for a few moments more. "Well, I'm comfortable with it," he said, "but if you're not, then I'll take your address and make a new gmail just for knight stuff when I get home." He could understand the caution - someone as serious as Thraen seemed unlikely to ever corrupt, but accidents happened and not everything required willing participants.

It was probably for the better that he didn't know he had forever ingrained the phrase magical puberty into Thraen's head. Although if he had known, he'd probably have been sort of proud of himself.

"I'll email you later once I'm all set up," he said. "Sound good?"

"I will look forward to it, " Thraen had taken to the habit and wisdom he'd seen from Aquarius and Irene, and fished for a small pouch with pad and pen inside among other equally small needful things. The information was simple to offer forward.

"Agis Quod Adis, ..Do well what you do, Babylon. "

If only all the night were so promising and clear. Thraen bowed low, then took again to his pace in the dark.
