Rep was about to snark back at Jordan when Ferros swept in hard. He felt his shield shatter in an instant of mingled surprise and satisfaction and he was sent reeling, staggering to the ground as Tracey desummoned.
He lay there for a few moments, gasping for the breath knocked out of his lungs while laughing in manic giddiness as pain sunk its talons deep into him. He spat blood onto the field and coughed, his nose and face always taking much of the brunt of any fall.
"Good...good fight." he stammered breathlessly through the thick blood.
He exhaled and slumped onto the dirt with his eyes closed, not unconscious but completely exhausted and spent, somewhere beyond feeling the emotional turmoil he'd been in, free for the moment. "Don't think I can walk back though."

Ferros desummoned himself as Tracey vanished, for once not complaining about wasting a charge; they were of one mind on this particular situation. The broken shield was a surprise, but only a minor one. They were familiar with how much damage they could take and how much they could deal. Jordan moved over to crouch down by Rep, looking him over in a quick, concerned glance. Nothing seemed to be badly broken. Rep was bleeding, but still conscious and laughing, even if the laughter had an edge of hysteria in it.
"Good fight," he replied. "I've got you." He moved to pick Rep up in a princess carry, though he remained alert for any sign that he might be pushed away. He didn't think that was going to happen, but they'd had more than enough tension and unhappiness for one day. If Rep still didn't want to be touched ... he'd figure something out.

Rep didn't fight being picked up, though he flinched at the contact automatically, he wasn't all right, but he was better than he had been, and at least in a swirl of adrenaline and pain everything felt right.
"Thank you." he said, though he didn't specify for what. Spitting another gob of blood to the ground as Tracey fought to get it under control, he'd be bruised later, he knew without a shadow of a doubt.
It felt like progress, though he didn't understand why. At least he'd have a reason to be in the bed for a bit while he slept it off.

Jordan nodded, though he wasn't entirely sure what he was being thanked for. He didn't feel like asking and getting into a fresh round of potentially-uncomfortable discussions. They'd gotten some way towards reconciling, a little closer, a little clearer, and everything wasn't okay yet, but he was starting to let himself hope that it might yet get there.
"I'm about ready for a shower and a rest," he said, and turned to head back towards home.
