For whatever reason this house in particular really spooked Hannah. Maybe an outsider could look at it and attribute it to death with the decayed siding and collapsed roof. It wasn’t that she was scared of potentially running into ghosts but something about this place really didn’t sit well with her. Swaths of fabric swayed in the breeze that snaked its way through the shattered glass ”I’m not letting you go in there alone if something happened to Delilah she wouldn’t be able to forgive herself. ”Just know if I die I’m going to haunt you for the rest of your life! she joked though the ache in her chest felt like she was about to have a panic attack… why so scared? It made no sense… Please please reconsider she inwardly begged though she knew now that Delilah’s mind had been made up there was no turning back.

Squeezing Hannah's hand again, Delilah gave her a reassuring smile. I won't let anything happen to you here. I might not be Phact right now but that doesn't change a thing." She whispered the last part before another whine caught their attention. The raven hair girl froze for a moment before shifting her arm out of Hannah's death hold.
"Come on. And if you did haunt me, best excuse ever to not pay for broken things." She smiled back as she made her way over the tail, untamed grass toward the fence that used to stand before the walkway. Looking at it, one would see rust covering the hinges that just hung on for dear life. To the right though, several boards had fallen free making a passage way easier to slip into without fear.
Motioning for her to follow, Delilah slipped in and moved towards the porch with its steps full of holes that would squeak under pressure. Of course she was going to try the front door first.

Following Delilah’s lead Hannah slipped through the fence with ease careful not to snag her hair on the protruding wooden boards. Normally she would have had some sort of reply to toss back at her friend but none came to mind. Instead she remained silent listening carefully for the sound again. With Delilah’s beckoning her to follow, Hannah was mindful to stay close, even though internally she know that if something did happen she could just power up and heal whomever got injured, she did realize that her abilities had certain limitations to them. Even so she would prefer that neither of them got injured. Standing next to her raven haired friend just outside the front door Hannah heard it, a whimper sound much akin to a scared animal. Sympathy and concern tugged at her heart strings though fear of the building collapsing did remain. ”Just be careful. she pleaded before following Delilah inside.

Looking back over her shoulder, Delilah gave a small nod in agreement to the be careful before she tried the handle. It didn't give. Once, twice more and she pulled her hand off it before examining the frame. This time, she places one hand on the doorknob and the next just to the side where the blot should have been. When she turned and pushed, she felt it give a little and then few open with a loud nails on chalkboard sound. "I guess something rusted shut?" She whispered in a wince as the ringing in her ears subsided.
Stepping inside, Delilah began to look around. While the floor felt solid enough, she had to admit that the spider webs made her skin crawl. "I hate spiders..." She shivered before gazing around the entry way. It appeared mostly empty but that didn't stop the spookiness that came from the old, dusty wood and the wall paper tearing down the wall.
But in front of them was two choices. Forward to the first floor or up the stairs.
"Which way do you think?"

Though her friend couldn't see the look on her face Hannah raised an eyebrow at Delilah’s proclamation of hating the ‘small defenseless creatures’ as she’d said on more than one occasion. If memory served her right it was Delilah who typically caught and released them while Hannah tried horribly hard to convince her to squish them and throw them away or flush them down the toilet. Standing shoulder to shoulder with her raven hair friend, Hannah took ahold of Delilah’s hand. “It doesn't matter to me, just don’t leave me please. But before we go…Since when did spiders bother you?" she inquired.

The statement had come out and it had been forgotten that the last time Hannah had seen Delilah around a spider, they had not bothered her. Glancing back at the girl, she decided to cut to the chase and make a long story short. "When you have to figure out how to kill a 6ft or 7ft tall one trying to eat you, sometimes your thoughts on them change." Delilah gave Hannah a motion to head towards the upstairs. She didn't want to dry and break the fallen bookcases into the side room yet. "Also, don't ever try to ride them like a horse..."
Stopping half way up the stairs, Delilah suddenly started to push down on the next step. "Careful." She whispered and used the wall and the half rotten banister to leap two steps.

“Sooooo You… killed Aragog from Harry Potter?” Hannah paused just nodding her head not entirely sure she believed the story but then again prior to a few months ago she didn’t believe in talking cats or doppelgangers either. “You’ll have to tell me about that when we get out of here…?” Though she had to wonder, did she really want to know? Hannah felt the blood rush from her face and her hands become ice cold just watching Delilah jump up over two steps. Blame it on all the books she read while in the hospital but her mind decided then would be a fantastic moment to run wild. Images of rotten boards giving out from under her friend seeing her dangling from splintered planks of wood or falling “Delilah wait.” She honestly didn’t feel comfortable jumping up the steps nor did she want to let her friend leave her sight. “Can we just wait a moment and see if we hear the sound again before going upstairs.” Falling through an entire floor really doesn’t sound like fun.

"You know, I never thought of it like that. Sadly, he did not have a possessed car to run from." Delilah commented shooting back a look at Hannah that said 'you haven't been out much have you?' Truth was that Delilah ran into more youma than anything. Bats, spiders, merkat things...oh and exploding mice. That had started this mess...
When Hannah stopped her, Delilah's shoulders dropped but she nodded to calm her friend down. "Alright." She sighed, a little annoyed but she closed her eyes and listened for anything to come again. It was surprising to her that if a creature heard them, it would not have made another sound.

She could tell by the look on Delilah’s face and her body language that she wasn’t happy. Maybe I shouldn’t have said anything… With a sigh Hannah pressed her back firmly against the wall for a moment praying with all her heart that whatever it is they came in here for wasn’t upstairs. The further we go up, the longer the fall should the floor give out she just wished Delilah saw it that way too. Scanning the downstairs entry way, the periwinkle haired girl tried to spot any movement, though at the same time she hoped she didn’t see anything. What if is there’s a monster, or a zombie or a... The sound of a meow broke her train of thought. Though she had been so absorbed in the what if’s and possibilities of catastrophes occurring that she unfortunately did not hear where it came from…

Maybe it was the adventure. Maybe it was the fact that falling seemed like one of the smaller problems she had come across in a long time. Or maybe Delilah just didn't even think about heights anymore. She did spend quite a bit of time on roofs after all
But as she started to watch Hannah, she regretted the feeling she had pushed off into her friend. Stepping down slowly, Delilah was about to jump back across when the meow caught her ears. "A cat?" She whispered and listened again. "Here Kitty Kitty." She called out into the house trying to pinpoint the location.
Delilah remained quiet as she listened. Had she been able to read Hannah's thoughts, the raven haired girl would have just rolled her eyes. Too many horror movies could be bad for the brain and it was scarying her dear friend. She was listening deeply before the sound of a meow broke her mind. Glancing around, she smiled towards Hannah. "You were right. Back down stairs then."

Thankful that the sound came from somewhere downstairs rather than one of the who how many rooms upstairs, Hannah nodded her head and reached out towards her friend "Here, take my hand!" Despite knowing Delilah more than likely didn't need the assistance and could clear the broken boards effortlessly, it never hurt to offer. Back still pressed against the dusty wall Hannah moved down one step to make sure her raven haired friend a supple amount of landing room and there wasn't too much weight on one hold board. Lord please don't let her fall...

With a knowing smile, Delilah took Hannah's hand without a second thought. The girl had been too harsh on her friend a moment ago so the least she could do was comfort her with the simple gesture. As her hand interlocked with Hannah's, Delilah stepped back down the stairs towards the ones that did not feel loose. Under her weight, the boards cracked and sounded as if one was going to snap. A loud creak sounded just as her foot lifted off and the board broke and feel.
Looking back over her shoulder, Delilah glanced down at the newly formed hole before over at the body next to her. "Well, that was weaker than I thought. Good call." Delilah sighed shaking off the idea her leg nearly went that down that way. Rusty nails did not sound like fun.

With a hand placed over her frantically beating heart Hannah took one shaky step after another, descending down the remaining steps. Only once she was safely on "solid" ground did she finally exhale the breath she hadn't intended to hold. "I swear you're going to give me a heart attack" she jested... or did she? Panic attack maybe, especially after she momentarily visualized her friend falling through the broken boards; because lord knows Hannah hadn't the strength to pull Delilah back up and would no doubt have fallen down with her. "Are you okay?" she inquired with wide eyes.

"I'll give you one in this life for all the ones you give me in the other."Delilah threw back at her with a raised eyebrow and a soft head shake. When Hannah powered up, Delilah went into her own form of a panic attack. That world was not meant for a woman as sweet of this. Honestly, it scared the raven haired girl. Still, as she walked around the steps and back towards the blocked hallway, Delilah wanted to do her best to quiet the fears of her friend. "I'm okay. Safe from having a rusty nail in my leg and being whisked to the doctor. Hate those shots." The girl visually shivered. "Now, where do you think? I'm scared the loud noise now means the cat won't do anything. If it was a dog, they would not stop barking now."

Hannah's eyes shot down to Delilah's leg "WHAT?" she said in disbelief "Save for the nail in your leg? Where?" Looking for any signs of blood or gashes Hannah reached for her henshin pen. If Delilah was hurt she'd have no choice but to power up. Relief however came when she realized that her friend bore no marks on her legs and that she had over reacted to a misunderstanding. Safe... not save... lord help me please. "Oh man..." she exhaled "I think we should sit down and wait a few minutes. See if once it's quiet again the cat starts mewing again." Plush she didn't think she could stand much longer.
