Tahigwa nodded along with the little girl, smiling at the compliment she was given. If there was anything she was more proud of about herself, it was her hair. If anyone ever tried to cut it off, she'd give them hell. She added part of her snowman to the girl's packed snow and pursed her lips a little.

"I'm loud because I feel like I have to be in order to be heard." She explained, her expression faltering. "It's hard being one of a million Sisters. Everyone else looks just like you, but, yet, you're nothing like everyone else."

She moved to sit Indian style and sighed. This kid was making some valid points without even saying them, wasn't she?

"Wait..." She paused at the girl's final statement. "Your mother's afraid that I'm going to treat you different because you're a hybrid?" She gave a laugh and snuggled the girl close. "Honey, I don't care if you're halfling, nor do I care if your mother and father are married! It's none of my business and it should be of no problem anyway!"

She shook her head. Was this really the problem? Her mouth curved into an unimaginable grin, followed by chuckling.
"I'm sorry for laughing, but, I thought your mother was nasty by nature!" She chuckled. "But, it turns out she's just afraid of racists!"

The little girl seemed surprised with the physical contact from such a stranger, but relaxed after the initial shock had passed. She continued to play with the snow as soon as she was able to do so again, not too sure how to assess the woman in front of her. "Mama's not nasty." She said, making eye contact with Tahigwa. The little girl seemed really serious, which would make sense given who her mother was, though there wasn't anything bitter or angry about the little one. It was just a serious contemplation of the world around her.

The little girl used a mitten gloved hand to move her hair out of her face before she was suddenly rushed into the air. Squealing with joy, the little girl twisted in her holder's arms to face them. Ptolemy gave a warm smile to her daughter before moving her onto her hip. Ptolemy gave Tahigwa a look of contemplation, staring into her before seeming to make a decision and speaking. "I see Little One has snuck out again." Her face was somber, almost as if she had not wanted Tahigwa to see her. She looked to her daughter to rub her nose to the little one's face and the daughter once again squealed in delight. "My daughter is right. You are loud, and you are rude." She sighed as if something was one her mind.

"My husband and I have spoken, and we have decided that we must do what is best for our daughter." She let the words hang in the air.

Tahigwa didn't pay much attention to the little girl's statement about her mother, and went on playing in the snow with her. It was only when the girl was scooped up was her attention grabbed, and she rose to her feet to stand level with Ptolemy.

"She's as intelligent as she is adorable, Ptolemy." She remarked as she dusted her pants off. "It's a shame you live all the way up here where no one can see you, because my mother and brother would spoil her like there's no tomorrow."

Then, she paused, her gaze freezing upon the elder and her daughter. What's best for their daughter? What did that mean exactly?
"...Does that mean you're coming back to Jauhar?" She said, her mouth going agape. Had she actually succeeded in something other than screwing things up? She held her breath and waited for Ptolemy to continue.

Ptolemy seemed to have lightened some, though the seriousness in her demeanor never faltered. It was really just the bitterness that went away. "My daughter is one of the few reasons in the world that I would be persuaded to do anything." The little girl in her arms leaned into her mother's chest, soaking in the warmth and closing her eyes. "Not that you did much to persuade anyone here." Her seriousness never lifted, but the words spoken were said lightheartedly and not with anger. Tahigwa was a lousy persuader after all.

"But some sort of illness must have touched my husband because he thinks there is a reason for me to go." Ptolemy sighed and held her daughter closer. "You should report to the islands also. If I'm going, there's no way I'm letting you slide by." There is was, the answer Tahigwa should have been looking for. Ptolemy was going to go back and join the efforts to train the prentices.
