Gyuri's attention was torn in many directions, between the battle, the people he was digging for the avalanche victims with, and the milling herd of Mammu that were still nearby. There were so many things that needed his attention at the moment and the fact that he was put in charge was something that almost made him dizzy. How often did he find himself following the orders of others after all? To be the one calling the shots was a new one for him and not something that he felt he liked all that much but still, he'd agreed to help and he meant to do all that he could for them. He would be sure to get them out of here and then he'd be able to deal with the rest of the issues at hand.

Jerking his head to the side when he heard Deidri calling for him he hurried over to her, looking down at the one that she was digging out, and then set to work aiding her, "Ah... come on." He murmured to the man, doing his best to get the body out of the snow, relieved to see that he was alive. Of course as soon as he started to celebrate just a little bit in his head he heard a loud sound of pain from the matriarch of the Mammu herd. It was a sound that gave him a bit of a chill up his spine because he realized that the fight she was in was a losing one. She was weakening by the moment and when she failed to hold the monstrous Ghost back they would all be at risk of attack. The big female was one thing when it came to holding back such a beast but these weakened people who were caught up in the avalanche, the young boy, these girls, they would be easier targets. Gyuri knew that even he, despite his bigger, broader size, would still be something that would be seen as prey the moment the Ghost got passed the defenses of the Mammu Matriarch. He had to get them passed the Mammu herd and try to keep distance between the group and the Elensar.

He looked around the members of the group before he took a step forward, scooping up one of the injured people, the one that was moving the slowest, putting him over his shoulder, then scooped up the boy as well, "Quickly." He told them, hurrying them all forward toward home, "At home, my father... he has weapons there." He'd never used them before but he'd do his best to wield them to fend off the Ghost if it meant protecting the group that he had with them. He was the one amongst them that he felt was most qualified to battle the Elensar... well, unless one of the women ended up being a mage or something? Though if that were true surely she would have used such power by now? He couldn't think about that, he had to focus on their escape first.

The two girls helped to carry some of the victims of the avalanche and due to Gyuri's quick thinking the boy and his unconscious party were scooped up by the much larger man and they made headway to Gyuri's home. Once there the people were set up, blankets and warm water gathered trying to awaken the people who they had managed to rescue.

Deidri being the eldest of her siblings took charge of their new patients having some experience with people suffering from hypothermia. She smiled to Gyuri when she had her two siblings running about gathering items from Gyuri's home.

"I hope you don't mind but we need to get them warmed up quickly or they may not ever wake up." Deidri explained with a small smile, she then looked to him and then back to the front door.

"Do you think it's still out there?" She inquired after a moment she frowned, looking uneasy at the idea of the beast still roaming outside their doors. Even if it was a rare creature it was still a beast... and it would still hunt. "Maybe you should go check? You said there are weapons here you can use..." She trailed off, looking sheepish at the idea of sending Gyuri out by himself even if he looked strong enough to handle anything.

[Gyuri can go back and see how the battle between the mammu and the Ghost has turned out. The herd is still nearby, but on edge and the matriarch looks to have sustained heavy damage by the beast. The Ghost of the Mountain however was no where to be found, though a slight blood trail and a set of large foot prints lead off towards the mountain. Does Gyuri pursue? Or leave the elusive beast alone, now that the danger has past?]

Gyuri was never happier to see his home then in this very moment as the group of them headed inside. It was so much warmer in here then it was outside, meaning that they would be able to help those that they had dug out of the snow. He could only hope that they were able to get them warm enough though, now fretting over the suggestion that Deidri had put in his head when she mentioned that they had to be warmed up quickly of that they might not wake up. The thought that they had saved them from the avalanche and the Ghost of the Mountain only to have them still not make it... it was a sad scenario and one that he didn't want to see come to pass.

He was quick to fetch what he could to help to warm people up. He got various blankets and warm animal furs, wrapping them around those who were likely suffering from hypothermia at the present. He wanted to get them warmed up, help them to feel better, and if they were lucky help them to wake up. Giving a smile when he finally had the various things they needed gathered he turned to look over at Deidri once more. As she spoke she gave him that much more to think about, mainly about the Ghost of the Mountain. What to do about that? That beast might very well be prowling around still, unknown to the other members of the village. He couldn't really leave that thing to its hunt, could he? Not if he wanted to keep everyone else in the village safe. That Ghost hadn't gotten a hold of him or the other members of the group meaning it would go after someone else.

After a moment of deep thought he finally nodded. He'd go to look for it, see if it was still around and still a threat. If so then he would need to... do something. He wanted the creature's rare hide to give a to his father to help to placate him... but he wouldn't go to dangerous methods for it. He did mean to follow it, get a feel for what it was up to, and where it was, then he'd decide on his next move. He walked over to where his father kept his hunting weapons, grabbing hold of the hunting spear. It was too heavy for his liking but the weapon was needed, right? Just in case.

He gave the others that were currently filling his house a thoughtful glance before he turned to Deidri, "If my parents return tell them what happened." He said head he headed out of the house and back to where everything had happened. The best thing for him to do was to see how the battle between the gone down... and the sight wasn't one he cared for in the least. It the Mammu Matriarch was in rough shape... and the Ghost of the Mountain was gone. He didn't see it anywhere... but there was a trail. He knelt down to examine the prints, then glanced in the direction it had gone. He'd follow it for a little while, make sure that it was leaving for good and that it was uninjured. If it was out there suffering he'd have to put it down, a good hunter didn't leave an animal to suffer after all.

As for the Mammu Matriarch... he would give her time to recover but if she didn't get back on her feet soon then he would decide what to do about her. Maybe a Beast Tamer would be nearby that could help her? He felt guilty leaving her in pain when she was defending her family as anyone would want to do. They needed to see her healed in thanks for keeping the Ghost busy as long as she had he thought to himself before he moved to follow the Ghost's prints for at least a time. If it went too far from home he'd give up, he had so much else to do after all.

The mammu was rumbling, whether it be a sound of pain or contemplation it was hard to tell, everyone knew that mammu were fairly intelligent. Living in family groups and passing gained knowledge to the next generation, this mammu was no different, though its herd had gathered around it eyeing Gyuri as if he may try and be the death knell to her. Shaking her head the elder rose to her feet, perhaps a bit shakey in the knees but had enough strength to stand. She too eyed Gyuri a calm calculating moment before giving another rumbling sound and turning away. The herd was on the move, though she may not survive her wounds she didn't intend to let her family linger too long on the site of the battle field.

The herd moved off, leaving Gyuri the possibility of following the blood trail of the Elensar Curufinwe. The scene almost seemed surreal, where once the lives of many were at risk, a fated battle had ensued, only the trampled snow and the spots of bright red were any evidence that something deadly had occurred. A light snow had begun to fall, though it hardly seemed enough to cover up the stains.

[Gyuri may pursue after the Ghost of the Mountain, as well discover it wounded and dying several hundred yards from where Gyuri had helped rescue the travelers. Though on its death bed the large creature will attempt to lash out in desperation to protect itself. Gyuri may do what he thinks is best for the animal. Write out how Gyuri deals with the creature (if he goes after it). If he decides to go back home, the people that he helped rescue are waking up, and though numb and tired eager to express their gratitude. Please write up to the point where he goes home.]

It was a rather intimidating feeling Gyuri found himself with as he starred eye to eye with the Matriarch of the Mammu herd. He was being given a long look by her, one that made him feel as though she were sizing him up. He could only hope that he would be seen as worth letting go instead of finding himself as worthy of being trampled instead. After she seemed to be through with the inspection, deciding to let him go, she called for the rest of her family. It took a short amount of time before the herd was out of his sight. It was a worrisome thing to him, he couldn't say that he liked the idea of her wandering off without getting her wounds tended to but being that she was a feral Mammu after all. It was unlikely she'd stick around while someone tended to her wounds by anyone in the village capable of such a thing. He could only hope that she would be alright on her own.

Gyuri knew that he couldn't very well chase after her, not now, not on his own and not when she was surrounded by her herd. They were likely already on edge due to the Ghost of the Mountain's attack and the scent of blood in the air was unlikely to help either. She and her herd would go where they wanted to go after all, they wouldn't just wait around for help. There really would be no stopping her either, even for Gyuri. Sure, he was a big guy but he wasn't that big.

After a moment he gave a sigh and turned his attention back in the direction that a blood trail was leading off in. He debated on it for a moment before he started in that direction. Best that he follow it for a while, see what state the Ghost of the Mountain was in, and if it meant to come back here. The Mammu were moving on meaning that if the creature did come back then it would come back to hunt members of the village. That was something that worried Gyuri more then a little, he didn't want to see anyone hurt because the Ghost's normal prey was no where to be seen. A village wouldn't be able to be able to stand up to the creature in the same way that the Mammu had done after all, not alone at least. It was a thought that had Gyuri quickening his pace. He had to deal with the creature so that he could protect the village from the creature and its next attack.

It was but a short ways outside that Gyuri found the Ghost of the Mountain, laying on it's side, panting. From the looks of it the creature had been gored in the side by the Mammu Matriarch. It was snarling at him, looking as though it wanted nothing more then to go after Gyuri... but after a couple attempts to get back to its feet it returned to merely laying there snarling. Where the wound was located it was more then likely that the Ghost was going to die. The question now was, how long would it take? To leave the creature suffering, that wasn't what he wanted. What Gyuri wanted most was the ability to protect those around him. He found himself feeling a little guilty, he had been thinking about hunting this animal himself after all, but now seeing it suffering in such a state made him regret those thoughts.

It was times like this, as well as seeing the Matriarch suffering from her wounds, that made him want to follow a different path then his father. He would much rather retire from hunting sooner then later and instead go with Eira. That way he would be able to protect people, a more noble sort of profession, and he wouldn't have to worry about spending his life killing instead. Sure, he was certain that he might end up in a few tussles here and there so that he could protect Eira and the troupe, but surely traveling with a troupe meant to entertain wouldn't force him to do any real harm to anyone. It would nice to have a more relaxing life he thought to himself. He shifted the weapon he carried with him, one of his father's spears, and quietly vowed to himself as he approached the Ghost of the Mountain that it would be the last time he ever used a weapon like this.

"Forgive me, but I can't just leave you here to suffer like this." He said to the creature. How he wished that it hadn't followed the Mammu here. Things would have gone so much smoother for everyone involved. The Ghost would be fine, the Mammu would be fine, and he'd of been able to dig up those avalanche victims more swiftly. While it showed him that he couldn't do everything and couldn't protect everyone, it was impossible for him to do it all. He would do what he could do though and right now all he could do was end the suffering of the Ghost, return him, and see how those he had saved were doing.

It was a but short moment and Gyuri was heading back toward his house, the bloodied spear in one hand with the Ghost of the Mountain's still form over his shoulder. He had put an end to the creature's suffering and was bringing it home, feeling that it would be a waste to just leave it laying in the snow but still he felt no real sense of victory in this moment. There was the feeling of relief, of course, that the creature would no longer be a threat to the villagers but that didn't make killing the creature any easier. It was one thing to hunt something, it was another thing to have to put a beast down due to it being suffering. It felt less like something he wanted to do and more like something that he'd had to do. He wasn't the sort that left things in pain after all.

Upon getting home he went on a detour, dropping the Ghost of the Mountain off in the shed along with the bloodied hunting spear. He'd tend to it later, for now he needed to check on those who were in his house. He found himself wondering if those who were buried had awoken yet, if the three siblings had stuck around, and if his parents had returned home yet. All questions he supposed would be answered when he went inside. After taking a deep, steadying breath he started forward, pausing at the door, readying himself, before he stepped through the door, looking around to see how everyone was fairing at the moment.

When Gyuri managed to get back home, the three siblings greeted him instantly, chattering to him as the people they had rescued were now awake; though still suffering from various stages of frostbite the travelers looked to Gyuri as if he was a hero. The eldest of the siblings moved over to Gyuri, her eyes wide seeing the bloody spear as well the dead animal.

"OH my goodness! Are you alright?" Deidri exclaimed looking over him as best she could without touching him.

"Of course he is alright!" Huffed her younger brother who seemed visibly upset at the idea that his sister though Gyuri could possibly get hurt.

"I..is this the young man who rescued us?" Came the voice although still weak, belonged to a man that they had rescued.

"You bet it is! He fought off a herd of mammu and the Ghost to rescue you!" Dewarri proclaimed exaggerating Gyuri's involvement slightly. Six pairs of eyes turned to Gyuri to admire him.

"If it wasn't for you... we surely would have died." Came the woman's voice, huddled near her husband. A cup of warm liquid in her hands.

"We owe you our lives Gyuri, we will speak to the elder in the village about your courage, as well your family. You surely deserve praise for your strength, leadership and courage. We thank you."
