There was just no getting through to this girl, was there..? Avior bit his lip for a moment, debating on whether or not to continue to try to convince her otherwise, but what use would it do? Perhaps he would maybe follow her home, or at least to a safe neighborhood like he had done with little Massalia that one evening when he was scared and hurt before.. Though that would only be a temporary fix for his anxiety about the girl, at least he would know she made it home safely that evening.

All thoughts were banished from his mind for a moment when he was suddenly bombarded by an endless amount of questions, and his initial hesitation with continuing on speaking with the girl eased away into a smile of sorts. Avior had always loved answering questions when he could, not only so that he could spread the good word of the Dark Mirror Court, but to see the light that seems to spark in another's eyes when they found themselves confronted with new, interesting information. Attempting to keep his thoughts and her questions in order, he took another moment to think on how best to answer them.

"Well.. I am Eternal Dark Mirror Sailor Avior. Avior for short. Dark Mirror is my organization's name, and Eternal is my rank. I am not THE strongest, but I am one of the best my organization has to offer in the protection of this city. Um.. I think that covers the first three questions? I was born here on Earth, but I have been to my planet, Avior, and it was not pretty. It was destroyed by people like us, the senshi who don't belong, and that's why the Dark Mirror Court, my Court, wishes to have all the senshi move somewhere else, somewhere peaceful. We wish to relocate, where as the Negaverse wishes to kill. That's our largest difference, and why we are safer to interact with than most Negas. I have been a Senshi since... April Last year, but I only recently joined this court. When I was a Senshi who wore white, I was forced into it, but I willingly switched sides, since this court is far more organized and more family like. Any more questions?"

Haven listened carefully and patiently but found that her sense of curiosity was not quite satisfied. There was certainly a lot of information, and more names she was not quite familiar with but growing used to the more often they came up in conversation. But she understood little else, and from her vantage point as an quasi-ignorant civilian she thought it rather silly that there was even a war over all of this at all.

She chose not to say that, of course. She didn't know that this boy would appreciate it, and as he was being quite helpful she didn't want to do anything to cut off a potential source of further information.

“But what makes one type of Senshi different from another?” Haven asked. She felt a bit pleased with herself for the question. “What makes you better than whatever you were before you joined your organization? You're still a Senshi. If what you say is true then you still don't belong. So why not just leave and set an example for the rest?”

"In my mind, my personal opinion, the only difference is choices and where you draw your magic from. In laymen's terms, it's darkness against the light. But does that mean darkness is bad? Not at all, I'd say. What makes darkness so terrible in the first place?" That was always one thing that bothered him. That people so often thought in just black and white, with no room to realize that there ARE people in the middle, there are people who just want to try to calmly resolve everything. Of course, those people never are the leaders..

"I don't think I'm BETTER than everyone else. Rather, this organization is better for ME. Think of it this way, with the White Moon Court, it's like a crowded subway. There are many people, going towards the same place, but much of them are alone, taking their own paths to get there, not caring about anyone else around them. And some people just like that, right? It's comfortable and pleasant for them." His mind went back to when he lived in Maryland, where the transportation system often was crowded and unpleasant for himself, personally, but for the most part, people stayed to themselves.

Then think of the Dark Mirror Court as a group of friends all going together to the destination. We are there to look out for eachother, we are a small family, making sure that everyone goes along safely. And at the same time, if we make more friends going along that way, they are more than welcome to join us. That's why we don't just leave, because that potential to meet someone else who wants to join us is still there. When we have enough, then I think we'll leave, but not all at once." Certainly he must have overly simplified the entire situation but that's how he wanted to understand it, and that's what he believed. The more he said it outloud, the more he convinced himself.

“But then, if that's true, you didn't join them for whatever might be right or wrong,” Haven pointed out. “You joined them for selfish reasons, because it was comfortable for you.”

She didn't really know that that was the best thing to say under the circumstances, but that was certainly how it seemed to be for her. She knew that things weren't always simply black and white; the world was much too large a place for that the be true, and things tended to changed with whatever circumstances were involved. But from what this boy was saying that hadn't had much of an effect on his decision.

Of course, he could be overly simplifying things for her benefit. As much as she hated to admit that she didn't know everything, there was probably a lot regarding this topic that she was in the dark on.

Pun only partially intended.

“What would make you leave then? When does it all end?” she asked. “Why involve normal people at all? Why not take your war out of Destiny City and bring it somewhere else where you can't hurt other people?”

"Ah.. I suppose you are right. I did join them for selfish reasons, but is wanting a family, wanting an identity and to feel like more than just a number that bad of a reason? When I was with the White Mirror Court, it was so hard to find a reason or a way to belong, you could go an entire month without meeting the same senshi, because there were so many of us. So unorganized with no real goal except to 'patrol'. That's no way to live, right? So instead, I go to a place with a leader. A place that does have a purpose, and a means to an end." Such a long time ago that was.. It still bothered him to think about, however. But if he was repeating himself now, he wasn't quite sure about such a thing. And he was still willing to talk to the girl about it, though he was beginning to become more and more anxious as the light of the sky faded away more and more quickly.

"It's not truly the Dark Mirror Court's war. We are a third party that was pulled out from Mirrors, beyond the realm of this universe. The War between the Negaverse and the White Moon Court was not ours. That's why we don't want to remain here any more. We leave when we finally have a place to call our own. Every senshi that exists has a planet that was destroyed a long, long time ago. If we can find one planet that is at least semi-capable of maintaining life, as well as a way to venture to it en masse, then we will leave, perhaps leaving a few behind to see if anyone else would want to follow suit. And to involve those who are normal.. We never know who might actually be one of our brothers or sisters. It is as if a new senshi awakens every day, every hours, and we can't help who it is, it's something beyond anyone's control. We just have to be there, be ready to make sure they understand what's going on as well. In fact, who knows.. You may even be an unawakened senshi or Negaverse agent." Age might have been a problem... But one never knew, not in this world..

"I don't mind speaking with you, not at all, but I do worry about your safety the longer you linger here in the dark.. I don't mean to lecture, but it may be best for you to head home.."

Though Haven made no effort to argue, the idea of greater numbers appealed to her far more than the supposed leader and sense of family this boy had been seeking. She had a mother and a father and a grandfather and an older brother already. She didn't need another family, as much as her older brother's mopey moodiness might get on her nerves sometimes. Haven didn't need a leader either. Haven had always been the sort of girl to follow the beat of her own drum.

But larger numbers in a magical war seemed like the better option. Larger numbers certainly didn't guarantee victory (not by any means), but she thought it offered more of a chance. It offered a better opportunity for success, so long as everyone was able and willing to pool their resources.

The rest of it she filed away into her memory, to be reflected upon in the safety of her bedroom. Naturally there was a lot for her to think about. These Senshi were intriguing, and their war with the Negaverse compelled her further toward research. What place the youma had within it all she was still unsure of, and the so called Dark Mirror Court seemed even more enigmatic. A third party without a place in the war? Didn't their very presence mean they had a place in it whether they wanted one or not?

She almost rejected the idea of returning home. She wanted to ask more questions; she wanted to hear more of his story, especially when she was fairly sure she still didn't have nearly enough information to make any sense of it. But she didn't want to push her luck either, and if she was lucky... well, maybe he'd agree to talk to her again.

“Fine,” she agreed, but she didn't look worried at all. Even so, she gripped her shovel a bit tighter in her hands. “But I want to know more. If I see you again, will you tell me more about it?”

Avior was almost tempted to scoop the girl up and take her back to the main road, where there was more lights, more people around and she could be atleast a little more safe than out here in the park. But yes! Finally, she agreed to go home, and he let out the breath he had been holding for the longest time.

"Of course I will. I'll always have time to speak with you, but please, just try not to put yourself in any amount of danger. What's the point in learning everything you can when it kills you in the process? If you want, I can start coming around a bit earlier in the day or something, that way we can talk and not feel so threatened by the darkness. Would that work for you?"

Haven wanted to insist that she felt neither threatened nor scared by the lingering light and later hour, but she nodded in agreement if only to avoid more of his concern. He had a point, in any case, whether or not she really wanted to admit it, and it wasn't too big of a deal to agree with him if it meant she got to hear more about the war at a later date.

“Works for me if it works for you,” she said in an attempt at nonchalance.

The idea of being killed did not sit well with her. It was a morbid thought, and not one she was fully capable of grasping just yet. She supposed it was because all of this was so strange it didn't quite seem real to her yet, even if she knew that it was. She'd seen the proof of it. Now it was simply a matter of seeking out answers and further convincing herself of the reality of the situation.

With her shovel at hand, Haven began to head away, though she didn't turn her back on the boy, simply walked backwards to keep her eyes on him as she went. She didn't distrust him, but then she didn't entirely trust him yet either.

“Thank you!,” she said before they were too far away from each other for her voice to actually reach him. He'd taken the time to speak with her; it seemed impolite not to seem grateful.

Avior didn't follow her as she started to back away, leaving the area and maintaining eye contact with him. He just smiled instead, making sure she was staying in the light, that she wasn't gong to risk an even bigger chance that someone far less kind than him was around. There were no other auras to be felt, so it seemed just fine.

Just as he had thought it was time for him to leave her as well, she called out to him, causing him to just beam at her retreating form, and begin to wave to her.

"You're welcome! Stay safe, okay! I will see you again sometime soon!"
