Smoldering Reverie didn't come forward when she spoke. She simply said it with a conviction that in the past she might have lacked. Walking on Fire stood pressed against her side, lending her his strength.
"Why must we fight? There is no reason why charity and business cannot exist together. Those who can pay will pay and everyone benefits. Those who cannot will be helped. One does not negate the other."
She looked down at Walking on Fire and thought of why she had joined the tribe, "There are plenty of gifts to be given, regardless of which tribe you are in."

Howl was not clearly blind and most gathered probably did not even know, but he spoke knowing how he would feel if the Friends tried to help him, "Do not force your charity on those you do not know."

While he didn't disagree with either side, it was easy to see that The Friends, perhaps misguided, meant well and he agreed with their main purpose: to help those who could not help themselves. It was for that reason, a solitary buck, chose to stand at their side. He did not speak though, for it was not his nature and he had nothing to add to the conversation especially when he was not particularly swayed to either side in this specific argument.

"Join a tribe? I could be of a valuable asset, considering that I swim almost every day. I hunt fresh fish," she shouted out loud. "Trades might happen more often for those that find fish tasty, but... my home will always be in the mountain. If I have to live in the swamp for the rest of my life. I'd rather leave..." ]

[ She is different than all her acha siblings. Maybe it was because of the fact that she's the only kio between generations that made her unique. The Friends' second-in-command has been quiet, slightly nervous but standing strong by their leader. A while of inanity was enough, however, to warrant a passionate response.
