Sadly, Kiki-Jiki choked up badly, coming towards the last leg of the race. He knew that he had no chance winning, but determination was key.

That last leg was a little better, but he still had a long way to go if he wanted to catch up to the leaders of the pack at this point. He had given too many points and missed opportunities, but in the open road his bike was as powerful as any other in the competition. Here, he had a chance to pull away...at least catch up to the others if he played it right.

"Beginner Stage is ending...time for the real fun to begin, guys!" he called out as he flew out of the city past the station, heading for the Trans-Inaba/Okina Line in a flash.

With all of his constant observation of the scenery around him and the introspection about whether or not he wished that his dog-loving companion was with him on this particular race, Nito had found himself falling behind the other competitors, their speed blowing him out of the water with his distracted riding. Taking small notice of them, he continued to ride and watch as the Iwatodai Station began to fly past him...the open road into the Okina Sector of the race coming up before them. This was going to be exciting!

"Heeeere we go! The open road!" he called out with a gleeful smile, pointing ahead to the sky beyond, "Catch me if you can, my friends! I'm buggering out!"

Gin could feel a smile spreading from ear to ear as he continued to pick up pace and finally passed Nix just as they came to the final area of Iwatodai, glancing over and nodding a little in affirmation. "I'll see you at the finish line! Lets see if that old rust bucket of yours can keep up." The race was neck and neck, so there was no way that it would seriously be as easy as this, but that didn't mean he could drop a bit of challenging banter to his opponents as he finally went from being nearly dead last (hell he WAS dead last early on), to taking to the lead. Nanjou especially had been quite quick to comment on his abilities, but now the Unknown #1 was struggling with the group just like he was before, and Gin only hoped that as the head of Nyx he could show these guys that they were more than punk-rock lookers; they were the part, and the road was hours.

Everyone seemed to have made it through the bridge safely, himself included.
Tezuka let out a sigh of relief, laxxing a bit.
"Thank God.." he mused, as the group drove around, moving along at a steady, yet energetic pace.
"This is....Kinda fun." he called through a half smile, still uneasy around such serious competitors, but....
I'm..guessing we're not stopping at the beginner's end. he thought to himself with a sigh, before continuing on the path, moving along. Please don't let the next place be more dangerous.

The first segment was ending, and still she was behind the rest. Still, this didn't seem to bother the Speed Metal Queen, a grin on her lips. She was competitive, yes...but who didn't love to just feel the air on their face and hair as they race? And damn right was she enjoying it!

The trip across the bridge and to the outskirts of the city had been remarkably fast, even for the speed bike that he was on; his competition wasn't fading even a little, however. Gin and Nix were already proving themselves to be quick on their bikes, and he had a long way to go before he could claim the victory belonged to him. But really, the important thing about the race was the freedom of flying down the road, enjoying the breeze against the skin, and the fun of skillfully maneuvering between buildings, traffic, between everything...

...Soon, he had no doubt he'd be seeing Nix and Gin again in his rear view mirror, though, and while he was looking forward to catching a glimpse of her again...he was starting to feel as though it might actually be fun to win, too. What good was competition if you didn't take it seriously, after all?

"Can you catch me?" he called back, a handsome smile easing onto his face, "Come and get me, Nix..."

They'd reached the end of the first segment, where beginner races ended, and Gin could already see a healthy gap forming between he and the two leaders of the pack. On one hand he wanted to curse himself for falling behind, but on the other he knew he had no one to blame for himself, and all that was left was to put his best foot forward in the rest of the race. And not shout 'illegal parts', as amusing as he thought it would be to try. "Let's do this!" Gin revved teh motor as he entered the outskirts of Iwatodai, heading for the finish line and the second part of the race.

Saiga couldn't believe her eyes as she turned out of the bridge. They were...beating her?!
"Where the Hell.." she stated, as they came up on the finish line. It was close now, and this last burst of speed would decide it all..
Jo(shu) inched up closer as they moved a bit faster than he anticipated, gripping Kanade for dear life.
Oh god, why did I encourage this..?
Kanade herself felt his grip on her, sliding up a bit, as she gunned the engine. Passing Saiga up, she let out a confident smirk as they came up on the final leg.
Almost...there.. she thought to herself, glancing at the line. They were right there...This last bit would decide it!

Now they were breaking into the open, and it was time to really make a sprint for Okina City; his foes were quite good, but he had a bike that could make up lots of ground, expand a lead smoothly and without much trouble, or keep pace with a fast leader with the best of them. He had modified and customized his bike completely, each part a top-of-the-line special unit that he had hand-chosen for his own racing style. His tires were especially unique, since their grip allowed him to take some liberties in his control...even sliding his bike in the direction of an opponent and lifting a foot away from the pedal, bringing it down on his rival's own wheel to disorient and slow them a little.

"Sorry about that," he told them simply as he used the opportunity to try and gain some ground. Racing was a battlefield, however, and while his tactic wasn't exactly the nicest...he wasn't wrecking them, merely stalling their wheels a little, disorienting them. If a simple move like that could stop them, they wouldn't be racing, anyway. And one day, if they had the right parts, they might do the same to them. Got to take every advantage you could to win, right?

Saiga gripped the handlebars on her bike to try to steady herself, as she nearly spun out of control again. The bridge was damned tricky for her to navigate tonight, and did it show! She tried to regain her composure, scowling all the while as she drove.
"Note to self: Never try to teach Shu 'Safely' again." she muttered as she continued to drive forward, completely lost in the matters of where the others had gone. Well, aside from the increasingly disturbing man, and the nervous green haired girl. They seemed to stick near her.
