Where as Molly was paying more attention to Ripley and their conversation than where she was stepping, but luckily, (dumb) luck saw her through. The next tile she absent mindedly stood on was safe. "Mhm!" She chirped. "Oh, um, Ohio! In the States..." Molly then gasped, delighted. "Canada!" She echoed. "I heard that it's a magical place, and everyone is really happy and polite! I wish I could have gone..." She paused for a moment. "The closet I ever got was Alaska...! For a mission...but we didn't run into anyone..." Molly's brows furrowed in thought, and clearly going to Alaska was comparable to going to Canada. Clearly. "Oh, yes! You do!" Molly smiled and made a 'pinch' gesture. "A little one! I like it a lot! It's adorable!" Molly then looked embarrassed. "Ah, I'm sorry, I meant classy! It suits you very well!" She then pointed to the next stairs. "We're almost to the princess!" "I've been there before, on a business trip. Interesting place." Ripley mused, trying to put his whole focus on the energetic Molly but failing miserably. He didn't want to die on this course, and was putting a lot of effort into making it out unscathed. He stretched out his foot, but pulled back to instead put it on another tile. Something told him to do it, and he was thankful for that instinct: it meant he got through the second stage without incident.
"Yes!" He hissed in victory as he cleared the death sweeper alongside Molly, beaming at her with pride. "Nice save, by the way. But I appreciate the gesture nonetheless." A short chuckle later and he followed her finger towards the stairs. They climbed them together, albeit cautiously, and Ripley tilted his head once he saw two figures there, shackled.
"..." It was obvious which one was meant for him. He didn't quite recognize the second one, but the one his gaze fell on first was just obvious. The red pig tails, the big blue eyes: Princess Abbi was shackled there, waiting to be rescued.
Ripley coughed, rubbed the back of his neck, and moved closer to her carefully. "How do we do this part?"Status Stage: 2 Your HP: 40 / 40 Princess HP: - - / 20 Stage 1: Recoveries: 0 Stage 2: Flags and Instincts: 1/1 + 0/1 Stage 4: Bonus HP: NA Lucyal I DIDN'T DOUBLE POST THIS TIME BE PROUD OF ME

"Yes...interesting..." Molly echoed, albeit softly and with a touch of absent-mindedness to it, and was eager to move away from the subject. She smiled at Ripley sheepishly, since he caught onto her slip, and climbed the stairs with him, pleased as punch with the great progress they were making so far. Upon reaching the top, Molly's gaze immediately skimmed over the two, though it settled on the golem Ripley was going to get. "Oh my gosh, it's Abbi!" Molly exclaimed happily. "How exciting!" She then whipped her head around to the golem she needed to rescue, but quickly choked, and slapped a hand over her mouth to stare. It was Dakota...in a lovely princess dress. This wasn't good...Molly wanted to laugh, but that seemed really mean! But...Dakota in a dress...oh gosh. Molly was a bit rid, and coughed to clear her throat as she approached the golem. "W-well!" Her voice was a bit high pitched. "You just need to open the manacles...but um, be careful! Because if you fumble it um...harms you and the princess." Snap was the sound as Molly successfully got one undone. "Y-yeah, Abbi." Ripley agreed, hoping his nervous laughter wasn't as obvious as it was in his head. Molly's little choke was enough to make him take a second look at the other 'Princess', the first having just glanced over it without any recognition, but now that he was looking, he snickered. Obviously a man in a princess gown, which made him feel safe enough to joke about.
"No offense, but that is one ugly Princess." He laughed where Molly would not, and after watching her unhook one of her Mancess' shackles he moved to do the same with Princess Abbi. "Right, don't fumble. Okay." He knelt down and focused on the task at hand, frowning at the contraption. "Probably a bad time to mention I've never picked a lock?" He mused, though a moment later there was a snap as one came off without a fuss. Sweet.
"So, is that your boyfriend?" He inquired innocently, trying to strike up a conversation since, apparently, people liked it better when you spoke to them.Status Stage: 3 Your HP: 40 / 40 Princess HP: 20 / 20 Stage 1: Recoveries: 0 Stage 2: Flags and Instincts: 1/1 + 0/1 Stage 4: Bonus HP: NA

But because Ripley's tone had been so sure and smooth and sauve before, it was easy, even for Molly, to pick up on the nervous edge. She simply smiled at him though, a bit of a knowing smile. "Abbi talked about you a lot when I sparred with her!" She informed him cheerfully. "She said you're an...um...oh-to-me...catch?" Her brows furrowed, and then Molly looked incredibly worried as she stared at Ripley. " I'm not playing the game, am I?" She asked in a hushed whisper. This was Abbi's thing, and she didn't want to wreck Abbi's 'game'. "Eh...heh..." Molly was still fighting not to smile or laugh at Dakota golem's expense, and instead settled for an awkward smile...well, until Ripley's innocent question anyways. Luckily Molly had already gotten the last manacle off before she choked and sputtered and then turned really red. She whipped around to face the trainee, waving her hands wildly. "N-no, he's not!" She cried. "He's one of my best friends! P-Plus he's now engaged to one of my other good friends here on Deus! I don't have a boyfriend! W-well, I don't think I do--but maybe--No! No, I don't!" Molly then laughed, all too nervously, and turned to face the stairs back down. "Y-you're almost there, Ripley!" She encouraged squeakily. "...She did?" Ripley sounded surprised, though a little bit horrified at the idea. Oh god. Abbi was talking about him. "What's that?" He had no idea what an oh-to-me catch was, but he could only assume it was something from a game; a notion that was solidified once Molly called it a game. "What? I don't - What's that got to - what?" He fumbled a bit in his confusion, nicking the shackle just enough to get off the mini-explosion. The trainee gave a very unmanly yelp in surprise, followed by a quick apology to the Princess Abbi golem.
"s**t - I just - damnit. Err." Well, Molly's encouragement was no longer needed, but hey; at least his Princess was free now. A little worse for wear, but free. He was so caught up in his first fumble that he didn't quite notice the way Molly flailed over his question, at least not at first. It wasn't until he had his Princess in his arms did he give her a baffled stare.
"...You're not sure if you have a boyfriend?" That was what he got out of that whole spleal. How was that even possible?Status Stage: 3 Your HP: 20 / 40 Princess HP: 10 / 20 Stage 1: Recoveries: 0 Stage 2: Flags and Instincts: 1/1 + 0/1 Stage 4: Bonus HP: NA Lucyal YOU JINXED MEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee okay bed time night u ilu!

"O-oh yes, quite a lot! She seems very fond of you! Uh...I think it's a game...?" She smiled, and then looked absolutely horrified as Ripley set off one of the manacles. "Oh my gosh! Are you alright!?" Molly skittered over to the trainee, helicoptering over him in concern until he soldiered on and got a hold of his golem. "I'm so sorry!" She wailed. If she'd just been quiet, maybe Ripley wouldn't have fudged his thing... Now that they could go, though, Molly took the Dakota golem by the hand and started to lead it back the way they came. She paused before going down the stairs though, and looked at Ripley with an equally baffled, if not horrified and embarrassed look. "I...I don't think so! I...I don't know! Um...ah..." An awkward pause. "We're almost done, Ripley!" She suddenly exclaimed, and jerked the golem down the stairs and practically flew across the Death Sweeper room again, warding off all the traps with her lance. Abbi was quite fond of him? He had guessed that a long time ago, but it was strange to hear it out loud. It brought some truth to something he thought had been in his head, that he felt bad for even thinking, especially due to the age gap between them. He didn't get too much of a chance to voice his questions about that once he realized that she was mother henning at him.
"No, no, it's okay. I'm sure it would have happened anyway." Not that he would ever know for sure, but at least he tried to be reassuring about it. Her behaviour in regards to the whole boyfriend issue was perplexing; she as dodging, but not even that well.
"Is this a subject you would like to avoid?" He questioned, just after getting through the death sweeper in reverse, his princess a little worse for wear. "Avoid what?" Molly cried over her shoulder, brows knitting briefly in concern as Ripley's princess seemed a little more worse for wear. Gosh, she crossed her fingers and hoped they'd make it through the shadow run together...he was so close! Still pretty much dragging the Dakota-golem along, Molly plowed through all the shadowlings in her path once they swept through the shadow run again. "We're almost there, Ripley! You can do it!" The trainee cleared the entry-exit, and immediately whirled around, giving the golem whip-lash as she anxiously and worriedly waited to see Ripley come out. "You know what - It's fine, You don't want to talk about it." Ripley chuckled, shaking his head. There had to be someone, or it was simply just complicated - why else would she keep dodging? Still, Ripley took the hint and backed off, but it had nothing to do with realizing that he was about to step into the last leg of the training course with a Princess golem that was not doing so well. Her confidence in him was encouraging, but he drew in a breath and tried to not pay too much attention to it lest he jinx himself.
So he battled it way through the shadowlings, and the moment he made it out to the other side, he peered fearfully down at the golem. She was worse for wear, but still intact. That meant...
He actually passed a training course. At first he couldn't believe it, and then he was simply ecstatic.
"WE DID IT!" Ripley let out a whooping cheer, setting his golem down before grabbing Molly up in a hug, even going as far as to hoist her off her feet.Status Stage: 4 Your HP: 20 / 40 Princess HP: 3 / 20 Stage 1: Recoveries: 0 Stage 2: Flags and Instincts: 1/1 + 0/1 Stage 4: Bonus HP: NA 13-11=2 AND HE BARELY MAKES IT OUT ALIIIIIIVE Lucyal AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'M SO PROUD OF HIM And holy damn Molly is a beast lookit that, 0 damage the whole way through

What’s that, Ripley? Enabling her not to talk about it? Alrighty then! It was dropped like a hot potato, in favor of something easier and exciting to focus on at the moment. The trainee let out a loud gasp as Ripley came out of the tower, with his golem in tow, looking worse for wear, but still in tact. Molly’s hands then came up to cup her cheeks as she squealed loudly. From their talk earlier, it seemed Ripley had just accomplished something pretty awesome. “YOU DID IT!” She cried. “Congratulations! You passed the most challenging training course on your first try at the trainee level!” She cheered, and was actually very open for a hug, which she returned, squeezing the trainee, until he lifted her off her feet, anyways. Then she clung to him like a cat, letting out a surprised squeal as her eyes went comically wide. She was going to crush him. That was always her worry. Enoh Love I'M SO HAPPY FOR RIPPLES! Call it irony that he passes that hardest training course on the first try though, haha. Also yeah, IDEK with Molly...so pro...or...something...

Ripley, who was a lot stronger than he looked, did not worry about losing his grip on Molly. Just as easily as he picked her up, he put her back down. Her panic was clear to him, and so he cut the impromptu hug very - and sadly - short.
"Sorry." He apologized bluntly. "Got caught up." He explained in as few words as possible, though no amount of apologies could keep the grin off his face. Victory. He had beaten a training course - an apparently hard one to boot - and though it had been by the skin of his teeth he had done it. Himself. Mostly alone. Molly only really helped explain it to him, and encouraged him forward.
"You're good luck, Miss Molly. Can I treat you to lunch?" Not that they really had to pay for lunch, but the sentiment was there.

Molly seemed much more at ease once she was put back on the ground, and smiled at the young man. “O-oh no, it’s alright! Just surprised me, that’s all!” To show him that it was indeed okay, she pulled him into another big hug, and rocked back and forth with him excitedly, still very caught up in the happiness and excitement for him. “Also, now that you’ve finished this, and if you have a mission completed as well, you can go get a runic item!” She informed cheerfully, and then released him, giving him one last squeeze before she clasped her fingers together over her stomach.
“Oh goodness, no!” She insisted with a giggle. “It’s your skill that got you through!” She blinked before she beamed wider at him. “Oh, I’d love that! Thank you so much!”
