Bethany couldn't help but frown at his statement. She knew exactly what he had meant, but when he put it in such a manner, it sounded like he lived a lonely life and to hear him say it in such a chipper manner just struck her as odd. She didn't mean to think poorly on Nischal for it, but it only made her all the more determined to help him. A silent determination, but one that existed, nevertheless.

"Not impossible, I think, so long as you have patience and the right attitude," Bethany said, adding to his statement and trying her best to keep him motivated and strong. She understood exactly what he meant and even if she was in the same boat as him for the moment, that simply meant that the two of them needed to stick together. Whereas she was new to this, Nischal was knowledgeable about the constellations and stars, as he seemed to know several other senshi that shared their same constellation, and it was awe-inspiring for the fledgling senshi to think that there were others that needed to be saved. Not even within Argo Navis, but all of them? Lost, confused, without someone to guide them? It was overwhelming on such an early excursion, and Bethany couldn't help but give a shuddering sigh, before sucking the cold air in and merely allowing it to fuel her growing determination. "Then I'll keep an eye out for this Naos, and should our paths cross, we can guide him into our Court. If the two of us came together under the same court, then it must be that Naos joins us, and I'm certain that our court will gladly welcome him."

She looked at the shop he was leading her too and couldn't help but flash a warm smile at its appearance. It was definitely placed in a weird spot, but that made it unique and memorable in her mind. She didn't have fancy tastes, so a small, quaint place like this was perfectly fine to her, and she could feel her mouth watering at the mere thought of the milkshakes and hamburgers that awaited the two of them there. Once again there was a hint of sadness in Nischal's voice that pulled her attention back to him, and her curiosity got the best of her as she asked, "Who was this person? Oh, I'm sorry, that's so rude of me to ask such a question… I'm sorry! You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I understand..."

"I really do hope that Naos will join us. I think you might like him. Though he is a bit abrasive upon the first meeting. Dropping the tidbit about us being connected is surely a way to soften him up though. I do hope that we can all meet then. Reuniting a whole family.. I think that would be fantastic."

Nischal took just a moment to grab the door for Bethany, holding it open and trying to figure out the best way to answer her question. Just who was that person who had meant so much to him. Once inside, after they were seated by a rather cheerful young woman, he opened his menu, smiling behind it. If only it were before his defection, he would have been all flustered and giggling over his crush. But it was, infact a crush, and it lived up to it's name, with his heart being crushed with it as well. All's well that ended well, atleast..

"Well, he was my best friend. My first friend in Destiny City, when I moved here earlier this year. He was just.. He was amazing, and the sweetest person I had ever met. I think I can say that I adored everything about him, from his bright green eyes, to his love of movies, to the way he cared for his siblings.. He wasn't perfect, of course not, no one is, but he just.. I always wanted to be by his side. The last night we were together, I finally confessed my feelings aloud, but they just.. It wasn't meant to be, no matter how I felt. And now, I don't think he'd even recognize me anymore. I kinda told him I was moving to India. It was for the best." Laying the menu down, having decided what he wished to order, he quickly rose a hand to Bethany waving it in a dismissive manner.

"Of course, that didn't attribute at all to my decision to change. I'm not quite so.. Tragic romance inclined to have chalked that up to the list of reasons why. It was alot of things, and I can easily say that I am excited and proud to be where I am today. After all, being here, being in this place at this time.. Well, if it weren't for that, I wouldn't have met you, right?" There was no need to drag his new friend with the rejections of his love life, so instead, he tried to change the subject, as smoothly as possible. He made sure that they were rather alone in their little nook of the lovely place before he continued on.

"You know, it actually feels pretty amazing to get that off of my chest. I think you are the only person I have told of my whole... 'Ordeal'. But anyway, do you have anyone you want to protect? Or maybe a reason why you wish to fight?"

Bethany wasn't the type to allow hype to get to her usually, but she couldn't help but express some excitement at the thought of meeting this Naos. Maybe it was just Nischal's genuine excitement that was contagious as she found herself smiling. She gave him a bob of the head as though to say 'thank you' as she slipped through the opened door. She thought little of his hesitation in regards to her question and merely suspected that he was waiting for the right moment to speak up, getting comfortable at the table and glancing over the menu, looking for the cheapest item on the menu on the off chance that she wasn't the one paying. That was proper custom, wasn't it?

She listened to his tale and the confession that came with it, and she couldn't help but feel her spine tingle at exactly what he was implying. No, she didn't think ill of him for his love or his orientation, as such a thing wasn't as uncommon in the dormitories as one would think, but simply that anyone wouldn't like someone like Nischal. She was going to say something but the way he waved his hand told her that there'd be more, so she sat and listened, looking for a chance to help him in some manner.

Though it sounded that simply being here and letting him vent was enough to help her friend, and she wore a warm smile. It was such a great thing, for someone to find the silver lining in any predicament, though she began to wonder if it was just her imagination getting the better of her or if perhaps…

She chased the thought from her head, and just in time, as he seemed to be wanting to know more about her, and she couldn't help but shy away from the topic a bit, as she retreated into her menu. "I'm glad to help, and I think that's just it. I want to help people… all kinds of people. That's all… nothing grand or extravagant."

"Well then, that in itself is a good thing. It shows that you are perhaps less selfish than I. I think there are lots of ways to protect a few individuals, like moving away, or beefing up your own personal security, but to want to protect everyone, that's alot more open and caring. I think you are a sweetheart, from what I've learned by talking to you, and I think we're going to get along just perfectly." The waitress came by and quickly took their orders, with Nischal ordering a banana shake and a Bacon Cheese burger. Defending the city in the best way that he could was a tiring affair, even if he hadn't been out that long in the first place.

"As amazing as being what we are, what of Bethany? What of the girl under the uniform? What do you like to do? What are you planning on doing with your life, if you are planning anything?"

Bethany looked down to hide her blush, though she was certain that there was no way that Nischal wouldn't have seen it. She wasn't used to receiving compliments and though she knew Nischal meant well, it was just something she wasn't completely familiar or comfortable with, but she knew better than to try to refuse them when they were offered to her. She accepted it with a small nod, adding softly, "Thank you. I know you mean well for him and maybe in time, you can see him again and maybe patch things up? I wish the best for you, Nischal…"

In the end, she ended up ordering a chocolate milkshake and a side order of french fries, something she didn't have often and willing to indulge with a friend. Besides, she wasn't sure if one of the sisters would have a treat or snack waiting for her when she returned and she didn't want to risk turning down their hospitality.

His next question was equally baffling, and once again, Bethany relied on honesty, fiddling with his braid as she tried to explain. "Well, I like to read and help people out whenever I can. I've never really thought much of the distant future… I don't even think I plan on going to college. Maybe a community college, but I just like to give to the community and I wouldn't want to take away from that. Maybe find someone and have a few children later- who knows. What about you?"

Nischal wasn't so rude to point out the red tinge on Bethany's cheeks, instead, he simply smiled at her, allowing for the subject of his past to finally drop in its entirety with a little nod.

"Ah!! Please forgive me for asking all of these questions! It was meant to be more of a question of hobbies than anything else! It seems like I have a bit of a knack for digging a little too deeply." His smile became a bit more rueful as the waitress dropped off their order and he slowly stirred his shake with a spoon, thinking of a way to answer that question himself.

"My life is.. Well, there's not much to it right now. I don't have any solid foundation of how I was raised anymore. I'm simply A boy who seemed to have sprung from no where. But maybe when I establish myself, I'd like to become a teacher. I don't know if I'll ever find someone, or if I even want to, but I can still have children by being someone who guides them in the right direction."

"It's nothing wrong on your part, just… I'm not so sure what I'd like to do with my life at the moment," Bethany said, confessing with a soft sigh, wanting nothing more than to dive right in to the milkshake but refraining so that she could talk to her new friend. She did grab a fry and bit off the tip of it, taking a moment to savor the flavor before setting it down, making sure every last bit of it was down before talking to him again. "I'm only sixteen years old, and for me, it just seems so early to consider the future. As pathetic as it may sound… I…"

She was hesitant to speak up again, taking a moment to look around the restaurant and make sure that the only one that could hear her was Nischal. When no one else seemed to be listening or caring at all, she let the other show drop. "Before Prince Remarque and Rhys came into my life, I didn't think I really had a future. It's strange, I know, but… I've always felt as though there was nothing much for me and that they breathed life into me that night."

She shook her head, admitting to him and herself, even, as she looked at the milkshake to avoid eye contact, as though suddenly ashamed of herself. "I'm sorry, it's a silly thought. Don't worry about it, okay?"

As she retreated into her delicious chocolate milkshake, she listened to his dreams and desires, and she found herself a tad bit envious, as she pulled away from her drink to add. "I think you'd be a great teacher. They're so under-appreciated, but the world needs more of them, especially ones like you who I think has an honest compassion to teach."

"No, not pathetic at all. I am sixteen as well, I just kinda wish to have something to hold onto. The way defection goes, you leave everything behind. Friends, Family.. But you still have all of those memories of those people you loved. And when you change you are not all alone, granted, you have the prince, and all of those who help you on your way, but that connection, the deep connection one has with another person, not so much anymore. To know all this information about another, about what they wish to do. It's my own way of trying to connect to people."

With Bethany dismissing it her thoughts as something silly, Nischal simply smiled, nodding to himself as he took a sip of his drink as well.

"Do not be too apologetic about it, after all, we both are really silly. And thank you. I'm certain you'll be a wonderful mother one day as well!" Silence fell between them for a moment while he took in his food, enjoying the juicy and hot bite that met his belly. Doing the polite thing, he waited for his mouth to clear before addressing Bethany again.

"I think I would enjoy meeting with you again, Bethany. whether it's patrolling, studying, or simply doing things as friends do. I would truly enjoy such a thing. "

Bethany couldn't help but frown, unable to stop herself from pitying Nischal despite her best efforts. She knew so little about him, but she couldn't imagine herself in his shoes and if the roles were reversed, she knew she'd be drowning with emotions right now, and yet Nischal seemed to respond to it like a champ. It made his desire to know more about her as not only a comrade but as a friend touching because she knew it to be sincere, and that made things so much easier for her.

"Well, once I figure something out besides being a mother, I'll let you know, okay? I promise… maybe you can help me find something to do?" Bethany offered, allowing that to be an open invitation to them hanging out in the future. Students at school might have tried accusing her of playing coy, but Bethany was trying to be as sincere as possible to Nischal, as it was her way of letting him know that she trusted him, despite having just met. She nibbled at her food, more interested in the conversation and company than the food in front of her, though not any fault of the chef that worked so hard on it.

At his request to see one another again, Bethany gave a solid nod, any doubt she might have had previously was gone. "Absolutely. After all I promised I'd help you study, and we need to stick together, for our court and for our Prince and Princess."

Then, she held up her milkshake, as though offering a toast. Despite her bold gesture, her voice was soft, as she added, "Friends forever?"

Let me know when you wanna start wrapping this up!

"I think I'd like that alot! Maybe you can help me find something more about myself as well!" It was a very very terrible idea to continue dwelling on his past life. He was a new person! It was time to do new things and not fear consequences! Okay, yes, still fear consequences, but who cares about familial images or being in the upper class? It was time to start living for himself! Himself and his NEW family. And he really loved that idea though, of two friends finding their way together. Though he may have been stronger than Bethany, he was just as much a fledgling as she was in this new court, and they would have to stay together! In fact, she was probably a foot ahead of him, having never been in the other Court in the first place.

Nischal needed someone like Bethany in his life, he concluded. Someone already established, with a past that can be spoken of, that can be shared and not made up in an instant. And maybe, just a little bit, he imagined being able to create a new future with her in it. Yes, most definitely, he wanted this girl to be part of it!

"For our Court, for our Prince and Princess, AND for ourselves! We cannot simply forget about that, now can we?" He held up his own shake, giving it a hearty little clink, his wide grin returning in all it's earnestness.

"Forever and a day and then about 15 thousand more days after that!"

You know I think this works as a nice end right here! They'd finish eating and then part ways on friendly terms and numbers exchanged! biggrin
