Chaonis nodded his head.
"I don't think I know what a case study is, so that's the start of the difference between us," he grinned at her, mostly teasing. He was not being fully facetious though, as he really was not very familiar with hard work like studies and steady research. He had never done well in school and dropped out when he was still a teenager, so it was not like he was familiar with the process of a real dedicated study process.
He laughed at the idea of him being a New Idea guy, as well.
"I don't know, I think I work best as the muscle-and-no-thought guy, but I guess we'll see. I doubt I'll ever get too wrapped up in what happened in the past, because we're here now. Maybe there's some stuff to learn that can help us now, sure, but nothing we do will fix whatever failed on our planets or whatever. I like visiting, but I don't know. I haven't found anything important yet."
Not that he had been looking.
"But hey, if anyone is going to do something important, it'll probably be you. I'm pretty sure you're the smartest person I know."

"Here we are," Asclepius said suddenly, pionting out a wooden balcony on the top floor of the next building. Her next jump landed her there, and she stepped back to allow Chaonis room to land.
There was a door into the builiding from the porch, shut with a sturdy-looking electronic lock.
The Senshi of Medicine paused before reaching for it, though. "Who are you and what have you done with Chanois?" she asked, unable to completely suppress a smile. "Really, though, thanks," she added. "That ... means a lot. I'm just trying to do my best to apply my completely non combat-oriented skills however I can. As long as it's all useful eventually."
Then she turned to the door and keyed in a number. The lock made a mechanical sound and a green light appeared, and then Asclepius turned the handle and pushed the door open.
"My secret hideout," the senshi declared, gesturing for Chaonis to enter.
It was a smallish one-bedroom apartment, with a main room crowded with furniture but not cluttered. One of the chairs had a stack of notebooks on it, and a table next to the bricked-off fireplace was was arrayed with several flasks that appeared to have come from a chemistry set. Under the table was a low shelf with first aid supplies neatly stored on it.

Chaonis moved to make a running jump for the building, landing heavily next to her. He was still not exactly dainty, though he was confident and skilled in his jumping and parkour skills. He was just... a rough and tumble sort of guy, rather than anything else.
He grinned at her question, straightening up and putting his hands behind his head, elbows pointing toward the sky as he stretched back a bit. He shook his head and then shrugged, bringing his arms back down languidly.
"They tell me I'm all grown up now. Weird, right?"
His grin softened into a smile and he nodded at her, glad he had a lasting friend that he could rely on, and he did hope she knew she could count on him whenever she needed to. He was a jerk, still, but he was a loyal and dedicated jerk that took care of his own.
Moving into her secret base, he looked around and seemed impressed, nodding his head.
"So this is your little spot? That's pretty cool, I think I might need to get me one of these. Somewhere to escape the family and all that, you know. It's worse when they're all powered like you are, believe me."

Asclepius' eyebrows drew downwards and slowly a look came over her face, indicating that she was contemplating what sort of a senshi - or Negaverse agent - her sister Julia might make. She and her younger sister got along well enough, but ... just no.
"I can begin to imagine but I would prefer not to continue," she replied, smiling wryly. "If you want to come here for a break, though, that's fine."
Indicating the table with the flasks on it, the Senshi of Medicine added, "I keep my stuff over there, so try not to touch it. If I have anything for you, I'll be sure to leave a note."
She looked around the rest of the place and shrugged, placing her hands on her hips. "Other than that, I'll leave your stuff alone unless you want me to take a look at it. Just try not to make a mess or anything, and don't give out the door code or address to anyone unless it's an emergency."
Glancing back to Chaonis, she lifted one eyebrow. "And since you're grown up now, I trust you, but no parties here without asking me first."

"Really? That could be cool," he grinned, though it seemed like a very dangerous thing to offer him. He was getting better at being thoughtful and aware of others, and not taking advantage of his friends like he used to, but some things were too good to resist. He was still a young man with a bad streak in him, of course.
So trusting him alone in someone's house or hideout was probably still a bit of a risk.
"Hey, thanks. I appreciate it. You know, we've known each other for a long time, haven't we? It's weird how we've both been at all this for so long but we're still. I mean. You're still one of the best friends I've got. I guess it's sappy, but you know." He scuffed his foot on the floor a bit, feeling stupid for starting but needing to finish the thought now.
He made himself a bit more comfortable by grinning at her in his usual fashion, arms folded over his chest.
"Anyway, I like having you around. And I'm glad we're still friends. I won't throw any wild parties here, and I'll try to help you with your stuff. I mean, if you have any use for me. I've heard I'm a pretty good test dummy."

Asclepius felt her cheeks warming slightly, and she glanced away as Chaonis did, too, hoping her darker complexion would help hide her blush. She had not really thought about it in such direct terms, but the Senshi of Medicine cared about him, as well, she realized. They had been through a lot, and over quite a stretch of time.
She was not going to give him the satisfaction of seeing her being sappy back, though, if she could help it. That gave her far more pause than letting him into her secret base had.
"Thanks," she replied, crossing her arms to mirror his pose and inclining her chin. "After my next trip to Asclepius, I might have a few space plant samples for you to taste, if you're game."
