"Hm?" Tearing her eyes from the keys once more, the Guardian Cat reprocessed what her new friend had asked. Turn back.. oh, right! "Sure, no problem! That's really, really easy. All you have to do is think about being Briar and POOF. But just like turning into Oort, you gotta change back in private or around other Senshi okay? But let's not worry about that now let's do some magic!"
"Here, I'll show you mine first and then maybe you won't feel so shy about it." The Mauvian all but leapt with excitement as she tumbled over to get some distance between herself and the Chibi Senshi. She was pretty sure she wouldn't miss the trashcan she was aiming at... but just in case she didn't want to send a magical beam at him. The bronze forhead star began to glow and soon enough a beam of energy shot down the alleyway and knocked over a trashcan. As it clanked to the ground, the cat fell right along with it. Even when not used on an enemy, the kitty beam was very tiring!
"... gonna have to carry me now, forgot to mention that... sorry..." She wheezed happily from her spot on the asphalt, a grin spread across her face as her tail gave a tired wave. "Worse for kitties than Senshi, though! You try now, I wanna see, c'mon, try! Go Oort go~"

"I'm not shy, I just wanted to..." Oort started his voice tailing off as he realised that Horatio was already in motion, it hard to know if she'd even heard him as she almost tumbled because of the speed used in scrambling up before managing to right herself as she shifted positions, moving so as to be a small distance from where they'd been talking.
Oort shifted so that he could watch her, his reddish eyes watching first in growing excitement as the bronze star on her forehead started to glow and then in awe as a beam of energy came from the star, eyes shifting to following it as it hit a trash can further down the alley and sent the thing tumbling to the ground with a metallic clatter.
"That was sooo cool!" He enthused eyes turning back towards Horatio, his excitement from seeing the kitty beam in action turning to worry as he saw the little cat all plopped out on the ground, heard her mention that she'd need carrying whilst apologising for it in the same breath. Come to think on it she'd mentioned that using the kitty beam was tiring earlier on - but Oort hadn't realised that by tiring she meant super tiring and felt guilty that his wanting to see her laser beam had made her all tired out.
He nodded as Horatio asked to see his magic and frowned a little - she'd said to say the words 'Key Up' right? Or had it been 'Oort Key Up'? The words Key Up seemed right somehow so Oort figured that he'd go with that. He nodded again, this time in decision of his thoughts and tried to concentrate as hard as he could as his teachers at school were always saying how important it was to concentrate and then called out "Key Up!"
Having a key sudden appear in his hand took Oort by surprise and he almost dropped the thing, but managed to close his hand round it just in time. He glanced at for a moment, the thing not looking like much - not like Horatio's kitty laser - but dutifully shifted so that he could show the weird-like looking key to Horatio.
Or at least that been his intention, but he paused momentarily as the thought occurred to him that maybe he could use it to help Horatio somehow, before kneeling down so that he was closer to the guardian cat. "I have a key thing" he told her as he showed it to her "And I'm going to try something with it 'kay" at least he hoped it'd be okay given that he didn't really know what he was doing. He looked at the key again - it was a key and keys went in locks and even though he had no lock, maybe he could try turning it as if he had one. Holding it out Oort did just that, turning the key thing as close as he could to Horatio as he could and then waited for something to happen as the 'key' disappeared.
After a moment of waiting he couldn't help but ask, voice slightly anxious "Did it work?" Although it probably would have helped if he knew what he was waiting for to work.
Key Up! Oort calls on his magic while chanting the name of this attack and the magic forms into a small ethereal-looking ornate key. By standing in front of an ally and turning the key as if in an invisible lock Oort can use this this to give an ally either a strength boost or a speed boost (one or the other and he doesn't get to choose which) of about 15%. Alternatively Oort can use it on himself, but he will only get the speed boost.

I'll let you pick which boost, strength or speed Horatio gets (for all 10 seconds of it xD) And when he's back to being Briar, Oort will make sure to get Horatio the bagel with the most salmon
Oooo another shiny key! The Himalayan’s pupils filled her teal eyes as she stared up at the object that her new friend showed her with obvious longing. She liked all winners, but winners with fun toys as part of their fuku or magic were definitely her favorite, she decided. She nodded eagerly, or as eagerly as she could, at his attempts to figure out what to do with the key besides dangle it. As soon as Chibi Sailor Oort turned his key, Horatio felt like a motor being revved up.
Her limbs twitched as energy flowed down to them, and she cautiously stood to test her paws. She could stand up? She had used a kitty beam and she could stand up?! In her excitement she began to dash in circles around the boy. “This. is. awesome! I’ve got strength back and can run and play and--”
...and just when she was getting used to this marvelous surge of strength more powerful than the sugar rush of a doughnut, it was gone. Like a car that suddenly ran out of gas, the Mauvian skidded to a halt and toppled over back to the ground. Still, she didn’t seem any less cheerful for it as she continued her chattering, “...okay, that was less awesome, but hey, we never know the limits until we try and it got me going for a little while, which is more than can be said for anything I could do at this point! So I give you a 10 out of 10, would fight beside and play with again and…”
A gurgling stomach provided the interruption of Horatio’s most recent stream of speech. That salmon bagel was sounding, really, really good about now!

Oort didn't have to wait long for an answer to his question, although he was surprised when it came in the form of Horatio suddenly went from lying all plopped out to getting up on her paws. She had been so tired only moments ago, but was now acting as energetic as earlier and making his eyes crossed as he tried follow her as she danced, well rather dashed round him in circles. And then just as he'd started to think that maybe he wouldn't have to carry Horatio home given that she was back to being as she'd been earlier, she suddenly tumbled over mid dash and was back to being all plopped out again.
Unlike Horatio, Oort had mixed feelings about his magic - on the one hand it was definitely not a laser the way Horatio's kitty beam was and that was disappointing since lasers were really, really cool - but on the other hand he had sort of managed to help Horatio with it - a little bit, well make that a teeny bit, but teeny bit was still a bit - and he wouldn't have been able to do that with a laser... Oort's thoughts tailed off as he remembered he still had to keep his promise to Horatio. "I think now's where I get you that bagel right" he told her, although it wasn't really a question since he had promised and everything and Horatio had more than done her end - he just had to focus on being Briar again so that he could go and pay.
He closed his eyes and everything and there was perhaps a bit of face scrunching involved, but being Briar wasn't as hard as he'd imagined as when he opened his eyes he was back to being Briar again. Although he patted his pocket just to make sure, before telling Horatio "I'll be back in a moment, 'kay?"
It was more a couple of moments than a single one, but Briar came back with a couple of bags, the first containing the promised bagel that he took out the bag, setting the bag down near Horatio and setting the promised bagel on top of it. "the Baker Lady said this one had the most salmon in it" he told her, having been really pushy on the point in the shop that he wanted the bagel with the most salmon in it. He sat down near her and pulled a cookie from the second of the two bags - the cookie had been something of a surprise, but Baker lady had let him have one on account of it being Sunday and the end of the day and Briar wasn't going to turn down the offered cookie, not when he'd wanted one from the start.

“Salmon bageeeel~” Horatio cheered out tiredly, her tail twitching enough to make her flag ripple just a little. A far cry from her usual level of energy, her mouth salivated for the promised treat. The contemplation of fluffy bagel, creamy cheese, and soft, smoky fish were truly the only things on her mind at the moment, even as she watched Oort melt away until Briar took his place. Then he was off with the promise of food to come!
She concentrated on rolling herself over so that she could see the boy when he did. Attempt one? Fail, basically a pancake sticking to the pan. Attempt two? Half-way there - pancake off the skillet but tumbling off the spatula. Attempt three? Success! She was now facing the door of the shop, her eyes lighting up in anticipation of the return of her new friend. It was only a little while, but the time spent alone was just an entirety to someone who couldn’t even move her head that much!
But then he came back, and in his hand was… the bagel. It was beautiful, piled high with luscious pink salmon and… and so much more than the picture had promised. Briar was pretty much the best winner in all of winnderdom at this moment. He could give back energy, and he had got the bagel, and… and she was pretty much perfectly content. Her face fell flatly onto the top of the treat and she just began to chew as fast as her little jaws would go.

Briar couldn't help but grin at Horatio's antics and her assertion that today was the best day ever was definitely something he could agree with - after all not only had he met a talking cat but he had seen her forehead beam in action and if that wasn't enough he'd also found out that he had magic powers and was apparently a superhero and although Briar was still a bit so-so on his magic - it was a small thing in the way of things - especially since to round it off he'd even managed to get a cookie.
A cookie he was currently eating whilst Horatio munched on her salmon bagel.
Briar hadn't forgotten his promise to Horatio to carry her home and planned to do just that once she was ready to go home, for now however he was comfortable sitting by Horatio and eating his cookie whilst he basked in the fact that today was the best day ever for him.
Maybe there would be better days later in future - but given how this day had gone - they would definitely have to be super-duper-awesome to beat this one.
