"Ah.. Well, it is alright, the stairs are many, but nothing too difficult. You two head up first." Strong and able-bodied? Perhaps for Titan, but Avior was struggling in his own way. As excited as he was to have finally arrived here on his planet with the two, he was growing more anxious as the time passed. Perhaps it was his own fault for deciding to do this instead of simply asking to join the DMC straight forward. Memories of this place, it was important to keep close, and that was his reason for coming.

Avior did not lead the group up the stairway, his short stride would simply stress the others, instead he brought up the rear, turning around once they reached the top to look out towards the city. This tallest peak in the city was able to easily gaze over the wall that surrounded it, giving what would have been an endless view of the sea that lied in the distance. Yet now it was nothing more but a barren wasteland, devoid of anything. Another click of his camera captured the land that he could see, and Avior moved around the entirety of the spire, capturing images in all directions.

Upon completion of his survey of the land, the boy pulled open the pair of glass doors, revealing the endless room of mirrors. From the ceiling, to the floors, to every wall around them were only mirrors, except for the very center of the room, where a pyre upon a crystal stand resided. Personally, Avior hated this room, for in every direction he gazed, he saw himself, he saw how unhappy he was, and he could see the last bit of the pyre going out in some faded, uncertain memory that passed between his eyes.

"I think this room used to be a sort of light house for those who resided beyond the wall.. But it is nothing but mirrors here.. Do you think that perhaps, with your power, you could enter your realm from here? From the other side of the room, we can enter the palace, but.. It's not necessary. I just wanted to show you two reasons why I want to join the Dark Mirror Court, and maybe.. Just maybe be able to give up my planet to the Court as a safe haven, if it would ever be possible. "

Neither stairs themselves, nor great numbers of them, were a problem for him. He ran every day, and he pulled a cart of weights when he did, among other exercises to stay fit. He wasn't much winded by the top, if at all, and mostly just felt a mix of bored and uncertain.

Between Pomona and this place, he couldn't see what the point would much be for the Sailor Senshi keeping their planets. There were no peoples, and the cultures and places were the definition of alien. Maybe scholars could pick something useful from studying them, but with the war and the secrecy related to that, it wasn't likely any study of the strange worlds was going to be investigated any time soon.

The swath of mirrors was just weird. Titan made a serious face at them, not quite trusting that the magical lighthouse wasn't going to just pop into life and burn out all their eyes for standing there right in it. Why have a lighthouse in a desert? It wasn't like there were any ships out there on the sand that needed to be warned off rocky shoals.

He kept he piece and waited patiently, though, on the two little nobles. They must have important business with the mirrors since they were mirrors and they were the Dark Mirror Court.

Remarque's workout routine did not often include stairs, and while the walk was tedious it was not difficult or boring for him; with each new step, he was met with more to look at. Remarque had not travelled far from Destiny City in his entire life, so venturing to senshi homeworlds was his extent of exploration, and he wasn't going to waste any opportunity.

Avior was a strange place, and one he sincerely doubted he'd have time to come to understand given any amount of time. One trip wasn't going to be enough. The landscape was interesting, and unlike anything he'd ever seen—but the mirrors

He didn't know when it was that he'd become so fond of mirrors, but the room Avior led them too was captivating, and his eyes roamed across each individual mirror with respect. These were not new; they couldn’t have been. These mirrors had withstood the test of time, and all he could think about was all that they had seen. "Perhaps," he replied to Avior. "All it takes back home is a mirror. Tell me, though," he turned to face Avior.

There were far too few White Moon Senshi who had any interest in finding their salvation within the Dark Mirror Court. "What are your reasons for joining?" What was there about this place that had convinced him?

Remarque might have killed to have access to his homeworld—to know what it was that he was sacrificing to be in the Dark Mirror Court. He didn't regret his allegiance, but curiosity was a miserable thing, and pondering what world was his out there, lost in time and space, had kept him up more nights than he could count.

Seeing Avior's homeworld, comparing it to the others he knew…they were all dead. Theoretically, he wasn't missing much, but it didn't calm his desire to know what was out there, what was his. But being here made Avior's willingness, his commitment, seem so much more real.

Despite the interest that Remarque had on the mirrors, at this moment Avior could not find the same wonder he did. Instead, his eyes turned to the sky through the door that remained open. In all of it's infinity and majesty, it was the same as if he were back on Earth on a good day. Not a cloud in the sky, and radiantly blue. If one didn't look at the place around them, the landscape within the city walls, and only towards vast blue of above, there was no distinguishing this sky from the sky back on Earth. Once Remarque addressed him, he stepped back outside completely, leaving the reflecting walls of that tower in favor of the scorching star above.

"I have several reasons. The first.. Ever since I first took a step onto this planet, I've been haunted by Images.. Echoing in the back of my mind are these scenes of a place not so different from Earth. So much green and blue filled this entire world, nothing but oceans and islands that could have gone on for ever. An ocean that once surrounded this place needed such a tower like this one, to guide it's way safely into the cities harbors. And it was peaceful and wealthy. Yet what happens? A history that's stored deep underneath this palace states that a war had taken place, an attack from another Senshi who wore garbs of white brought down these walls and invaded this planet, leaving nothing but ruins behind. For greed, for hate, for power, the reason I do not know, but what's to say that something like this wouldn't happen to Earth? So many of the Senshi clad in white exist there now, and I fear that without some sort of change, some sort of exodus from Earth, that planet will become just like that one. And it's terrifying.. "

"Such a reason is only superficial, I suppose.. My other reason is this sense of emptiness I've had within me ever since I initially became a Senshi. I wake up every morning, not hating myself, but finding no good within me only constant questions. What am I fighting for? Why am I being attacked when I did nothing but power up and make sure my family was safe?" Avior glanced down at his glove covered hands, contemplating the fabric, the old scent of stone and oil that seemed to cling to it, and the power that was represented by his clothing.

"I didn't ask to become like this, I didn't want to become this person with a power I don't even understand and become branded with a target on my back for death by the hands of someone who has no reason to hate me as a person. And with those questions came this deep rooted loneliness and anxiety. Who could I turn to to speak of such things? There are no leaders within this White Moon Court. There are no guides or helping hands or teachers with goals in mind to help make this world a better place. And who would listen to me? Other White Moon Senshi? They seemed to hate my 'flaky' determination and fear that came along with my experiences. Or perhaps the Negaverse? Most seemed to with to cut me down without a second thought, though there were those who offered me a kind word and a bit of their time. Then there is the Dark Mirror Court, who not only stopped to listen to the distress I was in, but taught me their goals, of how they viewed the world right from the beginning without hiding anything. They offered me " He paused in his speaking again, finally turning his gaze back up to the men before him, first resting on Titan, then on Remarque. He probably seemed so pitiful, so pathetic in his reasoning for wanting to defect to Chaos. And yes, they were right to think so. The young Senshi had hardly any will to continue on with all of the pointless fighting, and in his mind, no one deserved to go through such anguish by the hands of the White Moon Court.

"I want to put my faith into this Court, and to be a person who could speak to all sides about peace and mutual understandings of one another. Not only for the sake of Earth, but for the well being of everyone there, whether White Moon, Negaverse, Knight, Dark Mirror, or civilian. I am but one person, I understand this, but my dreams to no longer be alone and to find others who have this wish inside of them, a wish for peace without excessive pain and loss, those goals cannot be achieved the way I am now. I may seem to be young, to be a child who shouldn't be able to see the world in such a light already, but that time of blind innocence is over, and I am fully prepared to do what I can to aid the Dark Mirror Court in finding a way to create a long lasting, stable peace for the benefit of all those who do, or do not wish to call Earth home."

The explanation for defection was something, but Titan wasn't certain what. It was a little insulting, a little disappointing, but it was hopeful for the poor thing. It seemed he'd found a place he could at least feel at home and at greater peace with what he was become. It solidified the impression, if nothing else, that the little noble was not meant for any sort of command. Nobility by birth and faith was nothing to scoff at, in the kingdom of his private thoughts, but it was a difficult caste to define as the only differential in the midst of a war.

It was a trouble of calling on modern youths with modern, healthy sensibilities. They weren't built for combat mentally or physically. All the more with all that 'surely we can all just get along at peace' stuff.

But Titan was glad he'd proven himself steady and helpful, and hoped to continue to provide the service of that much. Avior had called for help in the arena of their proverbial lives, it was his pleasure to be among those who answered that call- alongside this Remarque and the Dark Mirror Court. It was better that none be left floundering, wandering in the dark. The bonus was also found in the curse itself- Avior's youth would help him to adapt now that he'd found guidance.

The lieutenant crossed his arms over his chest, turning his attention to the Senior noble of the requested court. Was it possibly for the answer to be disapproved and Avior denied joining? What would happen if that were the case?

Remarque could find sympathy for Avior as he listened; he knew not if all senshi planets out there were devoid of life, but the more he came to know of their homeworlds, the more it seem they all had met the same fate. He wasn't going to let Earth dwindle into another dead world.

He could not entirely understand Avior's motivation, but he wasn't going to deny him acceptance into the Court. Remarque had never felt the same way. If ever there was a time he felt he was lost, he hadn't had any issues with putting himself back on whatever path he deemed worthy.

Avior and Remarque were very different people, but looking at the male in front of him, Remarque wondered if they would have been so very different if he had been awakened into the White Moon Court. Quietly, he judged the male before nodding.

The motivations did not seem to be so very selfish. And as long as Avior was passionate about the Court, Remarque would be happy to have him. "You're going to have a lot on your plate, Avior. But I should think the Dark Mirror Court will be glad to have you. An intellectual approach and a desire for peace might get you far."

Or, perhaps not far enough, if Avior couldn’t handle fighting his old allies. He seemed determined, but Remarque wasn't confident that Avior wouldn’t express some weakness towards his old allies. He was torn between giving him the honest truth and sugar coating it, though in the end decided that they were too close to having a new member to try and chase him away now.

Avior would learn what it meant to be in the Dark Mirror Court.

Remarque would just have to make sure he understood that no matter what, he had made the right decision.

"Perhaps you'll be able to get to the ones who are still too stubborn to accept us. Your experience with them should come in handy." He looked to Titanlåvenite briefly, wondering what purpose Avior had in mind for him. He did not mind the male's presence, though if Avior had really thought this plan out, then there must have been a reason for the lieutenant's presence. Considering the unfortunate turn of events regarding the sudden lack of a strong alliance, he was surprised that any senshi, white moon or otherwise would have managed to get so close to an agent of the Negaverse. He was equally perplexed as to why the male was not trying to whisk Avior off to the Negaverse, though regardless of curiosities he could at least be grateful that he didn't have to fight anyone to acquire Avior.

"To know you have such faith in me, that you would trust me brings such incredible joy.. " Honestly, at this point, Avior didn't know what else to say.. In this moment, he was weak and scared, but more ready than ever to begin this.

"If.. I'm not sure what else I want to show you. In the basement there is more history of the planet, but if we are able to use these mirrors for our court, we could maybe use these to our benefit... But if you are ready, I can take us back. Then, Titan will accompany me to my new home, after I am converted." Gods knew he was ready to go back. He was tired, and it was draining on him, both mentally and physically, exposing his planet to anyone.

"If it isn't a problem, " Titan amended to Avior's essentially-declaration about homes. Much as Avior was a noble, and was being accepted into this court he sought, he wasn't certain the youth understood how hierarchy worked. Unless Avior had already checked with the mirror royalty about housing with one of the Negaverse, just declaring it seemed chancy. Titan's attention was full on Remarque, "I have the room in my apartment...and our own scouts lose much in converting. Is it the same? Will he lose his name, family, and home? "

"It seemed he would have no roof or food, which is a small thing for me to help provide. I did not like someone on the street..."

"It is no doubting that your court could or would provide for him...it was just an offer made a bit ago. "

Remarque might have taken Avior up on his offer had he not looked so exhausted. He didn't know how corruption was going to affect the senshi, but considering the path they seemed to be heading towards, he didn't want to place any unnecessary stress on the male. "I am grateful you would be so willing to accept him into your home," he said to the lieutenant, attention moving from Avior's face to Titan's. "Had you not provided such an offer I am sure we would have found some way to accommodate him, though I suppose the transition will be much easier with a friend looking after him."

Considering all that corrupted senshi went through to get into the Negaverse, Remarque couldn’t understand why anyone thought that was a preferable idea. "Upon joining us, he will lose nothing but his old identity. It is, unfortunately, a necessary loss. Anyone who knew your identity could track you down, try to hurt you. Or hurt the ones you love, to get back at you. Avior will remember all of it, though, so perhaps that makes the loss of his face, his name, his identity that much worse."

Remarque did not dwell on the negatives, though; he did not want to make that the focus of this conversation and scare Aviro away when they were so close. "He will remember everything, but he would not be recognized as whoever he is beneath it all, beneath Avior. But," he addressed Avior, attempting to be reassuring, "You will have new friends to support you, ready to welcome and assist you however need be. Your transition will not be alone. It seems," he gestured to Titan, "You've already found someone beyond just the Dark Mirror Court willing to look out for you. You're a lucky man."

He knew that everything he had done up to this point was needed in order fro him to be able to defect without a guilty conscious, or going into such a decision blind. All contacts cut, all personal belongings left behind. New documents involving his life and registration in highschool created. It was as if his new identity had been existing for just as long as he had been alive on this earth. No one would know, except his prince and this man beside him, who for some unknown reason, had become the person he trusted more than anyone else in the world, besides his prince. And he was perfectly content with that.

"Thank you.." There was not much more he had to say; the time for small talk was finished, and when the other men were ready, and had taken hold of him, he simply took the back to where they had started, near the cold waters of the lake. And Avior stood there, looking at his prince with an adoring, and determined expression. Though shaking his words, he stoodfast, ready to take action.

"What must I do now?"

Remarque took a moment to readjust to being back on Earth, but at Avior's question, he just cleared his throat. "I guess the rest's on me."

What more was there for Avior to do? He had made up his mind, now he just needed a mirror to walk to.

Which…might have been the hard part.

Remarque had no experience, and he hadn't exactly had a teacher. He hadn't entirely been sure how Ares had done it—but if she could do it, why couldn't he?

All he needed was a Mirror, right? Easy enough.

He reached into his jacket and withdrew his crystal—a sizeable, glistening purple gem. He had spent a decent amount of time with the item, just watching, observing it. He might not have known everything about his crystal, but he had an idea of its power.

Remarque drew in a steadying breath and then focused; it took a few seconds, but the crystal gleamed, just as a tall, dark Mirror spun into existence just in front of Avior. A shallow, satisfied grin appeared on Remarque's face and he tucked the crystal away.

Everything seemed to be in place. Maybe this wasn't really all that difficult after all.

"There," he announced, gesturing towards the mirror. "Just walk through. You'll be okay."

He clenched his hands into fists, still trying to maintain the illusion of calm. He didn't want to have to push Avior in, but his enthusiasm was getting the best of him. This would be better for Avior if he walked. Remarque wasn't going to ruin this at the last minute just because he was a little impatient.

Walk through? Was it really all that simple? Was walking through this suddenly summoned mirror truly the way to his new life, one that was filled with such potential and happiness?

It seemed far too easy, but who was he to doubt this prince before him? With only a simple nod, and a deep breath, he step towards the mirror, half expecting to crash into the glass before him. Instead, it gave way, and he found himself walking through a world that just didn't seem right. His chest began to feel as if someone had grasped onto his lungs and squeezed, not enough to make him cry out or choke in pain, but enough to startle him, and frighten him a bit. Nothing as painful as that hand that once reached into his chest and tried to tear out his star seed previously. And a surge of energy came over him, forcing it's way into his very being and from that a blooming sort of power seemed to struggle to escape him. It was raw, untamed in every sense of the word, yet it did not scare him, only urged him to go faster, move faster, for him to wade faster out of this bizarre world he found himself in.

Before he even realized it, he was out of the mirror again, out of breath, but no worse for the wear. Once bring blue eyes filled with fear and anxiousness were now colored gold, and almost seemed to glow in the darkness that surrounded the trio. And he could not stop the grin that grew larger and larger on himself.

To be completely honest, the boy didn't really feel all that different. The pain that was once in his chest was gone, and now he felt damp, as if the night air was heavily filled with fog. Yet there was power there that seemed familiar, yet foreign all the same. It was new, but it was his! He glanced down, looking over himself to see if his clothing had truly changed to become like those of his new family. And they were, they were dark, and they were warm, covering him from head to toe.

"Is this now me? Am I now part of your court?" The excitement that filled his words hid the true sense of exhaustion behind them, and if it weren't for that, he would have jumped in joy for such freedom and such a burden to finally be off of his shoulders.

The Mirror appearing out of nothing was already rather marvelous, but their ability to walk in and out of them would probably never get old. Or at least he thought so at first-

Avior was gone for a count of time, walked in and vanished, then coming out his was unmistakably changed. White-went-black amid other alterations to his uniform. And his eyes. They'd gone all wrong. The words that came were whispered softly, concerned for well being, "What happened-?"

He'd never seen a change of sides, not for the Negaverse let alone for the Dark Mirror. But the changes were strange and unsettling in their subtlety. "Do you feel alright, Avior?"

A thin smile lingered on Remarque's face; he was filled with satisfaction but was not making a physical attempt to bask in it. "You look good," he said; Avior's previous outfit was still fresh in his mind, and he was making a quick mental comparison. He did not share Titanlåvenite's concern for the change in attire; while he had never seen it first hand, it felt right. Perhaps, if only, because the aura of a Dark Mirror Senshi was comforting. And Avior felt powerful.

The sight of black wings was refreshing; there were far too few of them. But Avior was one more, and Remarque found himself relaxing at their sight. All concern of failing this ritual passed quickly, and while he might not have been as concerned as the lieutenant about Avior's change in colors, he shared his interest in Avior's well-being.

"The mirror frees the soul," he tried to explain to Titan, though he had limited understanding of what actually happened inside that mirror. "He's free of the white moon. And," he looked to Avior and nodded approvingly. "Part of the Court. How do you feel?"
