“Oh he did, though it was mostly at home when he got off work or he’d go watch the TV out in the lobby while I slept.” Too much time had been spent in the hospital over the last few years; nobody could fault her father for waiting in the lobby when it was his turn to stay with her while she slept. Though the moment she woke up he’d be right there by her side again holding her hand.
“Don’t worry though; I’ll be safe, so long as you promise to be safe as well.” Hannah held out her pinky for Delilah to take ahold of to ‘seal the deal’ a childish thing sure but did it really matter?
Having made a left at the first block, she led her friend across the street and stopped in front of the fifth house on the right. “This is it!” she announced, making a motion like Vanna White on Wheel of Fortune towards the white house with navy blue trim. “Different house but dad said this next summer we’ll paint it the same colors as our old house. If anything it’ll look more cheerful instead of the dreary dark blue.” The plan was to paint the siding a light yellow siding with white trim around the fascia, eves, and windows.

Delilah forced a smile as she wrapped her own pinky around Hannah's extended one. It was a promise she would try her best to keep but being part of the 'problem' made that promise hard. What she promised herself was that if she couldn't stay safe, she would at least keep Hannah safe.
"You know, it's cute. The white and blue are very in right now. Though it doesn't make anyone think of it as special. Should we steal some paint and put smilie faces all over it?"

"Haha, dad would have a heart attack if we did that. But I'll make sure to let you know when we do paint the house if you'd like to come help out!"
Hanna reached out wrapping her arms around Delilah in a tight hug, "Thank you. Thank you for viewing the eclipse with me and bringing me home." She released her friend and took a step back "If you'd like to come inside I can ask mom to take you home."

"It's alright." Delilah smiled as she returned the tight hug. "I can make it back from here. With this many people still out, I'm not too worried about the walk."
She was smiling as she stepped back from Hannah. Traveling the night no longer worried her in human form.
"Get inside and get to bed. I'll text you went I get home."

"Okay, please be safe! I'll talk to you in a bit." With that said Hannah turned around and walked up the driveway, up two steps to the navy blue front door. Reaching into her pocket she produced her house key and after a few moments of fiddling with the door, stepped inside.
Turning around one final time before shutting the door Hannah waved good bye. Not knowing what it was they saw earlier that day still made her a bit nervous, a part of her really wanted to insist that her mom could take Delilah home but didn't want to push her friend, 'please be safe'.

With a wave of her hand, Delilah turned back to the sidewalk and headed back the way the had come. Once on the main road, she joined several others walking back home talking about the events of the night. None seem to mention the bunnies though.
Making it home without a problem was easy. Convening herself she did not need to go on patrol was less so. It was not until she gave a yawn that Delilah said screw it.
Opening the back gate and heading in through the back doors, Delilah quietly made her way upstairs as her parents had already turned in to bed. Once safely in her room, and flopped on her bed, she pulled out her phone and quickly sent Home! Sweet dreams
