Serafina had to agree with the other ghoul's assessment on the jacket. Maybe she couldn't see what had gotten on her rain boots, but she honestly didn't care. All she knew is that it needed to be burned -- or maybe washed. Considering they were made of rubber that'd probably be easier...

"Agreed," replied Serafina, deciding that maybe she would take off the rain boots for now. She could walk around in socks--no, there might be trackings in here. actually she'd just keep them on...

When the other ghoul looked to her, Serafina blinked before giving off a sheepish chuckle. "Ah, no problem. I was mostly watching everyone safely in here because it was admittedly a little funny, but," she scratched her neck, even though the other ghoul couldn't see it. Nervous habit. "You looked like you were in distress, though. Most everyone else was just scrambling away somehow. So I thought I'd assist, especially when you said you didn't know where you were."

She chuckled. "Ah, I'm babbling. I'm Serafina Arai."

Angeline flushed. "Oh, I'm probably hilarious to watch even when I'm not trapped in a torrent of raining minipets." she said with a weak laugh before she tucked her hair behind her ear and shrugged her shoulders. "Watch me attempt stairs by myself sometime." At least Angie had good humor about her disability, it made it not feel like such a bad thing when it came to navigating.

She perked right up at the introduction, smiling. "It's nice to meet you, Serafina. I'm Angeline Nielsen." she introduced, looking like she was unsure if she should offer a hand or not.

Hilarious? Likely. A small grin played on the edge of Serafina's lips, before lessening. It wasn't terribly polite to laugh at someone who couldn't do anything about their situation. At the same time, she didn't seem particularly concerned about people finding amusement in her suffering, considering she seemed to be poking at herself...

Serafina tossed this around in her head, but offered aloud a, "Hey, I'm sure it's not that bad, Angeline." Her tone was playful, at least.

Angeline was a nice name. She pronounced it quietly to herself again, attempting to commit it to memory and keep the name associated with the face. As she did this, she reached out and took Angeline's hand herself, shaking it. "Nice to meet you, though I wish it wasn't in such Jackin' awful weather." Serafina laughed, letting go of Angeline's hand. "But anything can happen in Halloween... I haven't necessarily been here very long," by here she meant 'Halloween,' "but if I've learned anything it's not to be surprised by anything."

With a pause, she glanced outside.

"...Though this is a new one."

Angeline smiled. "Well, the way it is now it can only improve right?" she said, smiling brightly, squeezing the hand she was shaking. "Yeah, no kidding. I bet mom is making a note of this back at the shelter," she said, tilting her head to the side and leaning one cheek into her palm. After a moment she explained - "My parents own a shelter to take in the newly dead and acquaint them with Halloween."

Which had made for a lot of strange people growing up.

Angeline's head turned towards the window as she heard the THUMP THUMP THUMP of noise outside, her mouth turning into a perfect o in surprise at the louder noises. "That sounded like something really heavy." she noted, brow knitting.

Angeline seemed to be fairly optimistic. That was good.

... Serafina was still staying inside though.

The shelter? Serafina's brows raised in curiosity, wondering what Angeline was talking about before she clarified on her own. A shelter to take in the newly dead? Interesting. "You've probably seen--uhm," right, no seeing, she was blind, "dealt with a lot of people like me then." Serafina chuckled. "I'm a ghost."

From Angeline's appearance, Serafina was going to go with Angeline being a reaper. Maybe a ghost, herself, since some ghosts looked very human, but it didn't seem like it. No luminescence or floating or anything like that.

The thump startled Serafina out of her pondering, and she immediately tilted to the side to attempt to get a better look outside. Of course, the effort was totally futile, given that the minipet rain was also invisible. "I ... don't think that was just a invisible dog," observed she, nervously. "I don't think anything's gonna come in but..."

She stepped back a few feet anyway. Just in case.

"I grew up around a lot of ghosts and und-...unde......" there was an obvious struggle for Angeline to even attempt to say the word 'Undead' and for a second it looked like she was going to faint just from that, hyperventilating for a minute before she took a slow breath and just settled on, "Other newly dead..." Still, there was a slight shake in her hands from what had seemed like such a mundane use of word.

"We're all reapers at the shelter..I mean..the people who run it..cause it's just Mom and Dad and Me." she thumbed her chest at the last mention.

Never the less, despite the loud 'thumping' outside of invisible minipet rain, nothing seemed to be making any attempt to come inside, even if Angeline wasn't sure what she was hearing. It could have well been the door, but it was just the..bizarre as could be rain.

"How do you think they're going to clean this all up, anyways?"

Undead? Why was that word giving Angeline so much struggle? Serafina could admit that some of the undead gave her the creeps herself--she was afraid to show the marking that made her a kuchisake-onna for Jack's sake, some of the stuff that the undead left out in the open outright terrified her--but the majority didn't bother her that much or at all. Angeline's reaction surprised her, but Serafina offered a small squeeze to Angeline's shoulder in an attempt to reassure her.

Not that she really had any idea why she was so nervous. It wasn't like she could really see them...

Serafina's eyes lit up at the discovery that she had been right on the guess that Angeline was indeed a reaper. It was nice to have her observations confirmed. "So ghosts, reapers, and other newly dead." She decided, for Angeline's sake, to avoid the "undead" moniker. "Sounds like an interesting place to grow up in."

At the question, Serafina couldn't help her laughter. "I don't know. Maybe the minipets will just wander off? It's a little hard to clean up something you can't really see."

She snickered.

"Well," she paused, "there are some monsters who really seem to like minipets as food, that might be the most efficient way to do it. They might not mind the, uh, crowdedness."

If one could take the images Angeline tried to smash together at the idea of monsters cleaning up all the rained minipets and put it where other's could see it, they probably would have sniggered due to the strange use of highly inaccurate lawnmowers and invisible being represented by rainbow colors.

"Tell you what, I learned Halloween Lore very thoroughly there, since Mom made sure to acquaint everybody with the basics before they went out on their ways. I mean, I can't imagine how awkward it would be to just....not..have even a stepping stone of where to start..." It was a privilege she had to her name, but it didn't keep her from still feeling like the lack of knowledge given out for free would be embarrassing somehow.

Admittedly, Serafina would love to know what Angeline was seeing in her mind's eye.

If someone was blind, did they even have a ... mind's eye per se? It wasn't like they had any idea of what the world around them looked like other than the sounds things made, and how they felt, so perhaps she had a clue as to how they were shaped--

Serafina admittedly didn't know everything about Halloween Lore and History even now. It was something she admittedly wished she knew more about, and when Angeline said that, Serafina made a small, intrigued sound. "I can say it's ... baffling just to be somewhere like Halloween out of nowhere. We all existed before this, as we know from being ghosts because we were told so, but as far as we know, except for really deep ... feelings, there isn't much of that left. There's just what we are now."

Her first few months were strange to reflect back on. Serafina had much more of a clue now, especially since, "I watched things a lot. It ... helped me formulate a clue of what I was supposed to be doing."

She almost did it obsessively. But then, ghosts were creeple of obsessions.

Serafina's perspective was pretty intriguing to Angeline as well, which was fortunately something she could express on her face (in a really warped sort of way) and a mimic of the same interested sound the ghoul had made herself.

"That.....sounds really unnerving, I'll admit." Spending so much time to just watch and try to figure things out so you could have some sort of function - and perhaps in a way more functional than even she was. "But did you wake up with like...basic...concepts?" she scrunched her nose up at the realization that this was a really oddly worded sentiment, "Like, language and what a door was and that kinda thing or did you have to start from scratch?"

Angeline quickly added, "I'm pumpkin-born so I had to learn that stuff so I don't know how it is for FEARborn..."

Serafina was perfectly willing to talk more about her earlier life, so long as no one asked about the surgical mask on her face. Considering Angeline couldn't see the mask to ask about it, this was a definite advantage. If she couldn't see it, she couldn't ask about it...

She thought for a moment, before nodding. "It was ... hard to speak at first," though that was for reasons not necessarily the 'new to life part,' moreso the 'mouth is no longer structured the same as it may have been in the previous life so instinct failed' part, "but I got used to it. I could understand what people were saying to me. And I knew what buildings were and what food was and all that. It took me a while to realize food wasn't strictly necessary, though."

Though she laughed, it probably wasn't too amusing to her at the time it had happened. "But besides for the basics, I was lost. Halloween was new, and I was thrown into it ..." How could she describe it a bit better? ... Aha! "I guess it'd be like suddenly being in another area of Halloween for a pumpkin-born. Like ... going from this big city to one of those colder snowy villages meant for the wolves."
