 Almost there. It had seemed like a much longer distance than it initially looked. Now they just had to gether what they could find and get back to the camp. Successful rolls: 9/10

Despite the uneven footing, Anise finally reached the oasis, where the ground seemed to be firmer, if no less sandy. Now that she didn't have to worry about where she was walking, she just had to see what kind of plants there were, and if any of them were edible.
Successful rolls: 10/10!

Part 2: randomizing flavor - spicy
A quick look around was all Anise needed to find there was a number of berry bushes here, of the kinds that were edible by both pokemon and humans. That was a lucky break, they wouldn't even have to try digging for roots or identifying edible leaves. "Plenty of berries," she commented to the group. "This shouldn't be too hard."

"Joy." Cai couldn't really complain though, berries were a good find after all. He'd just hoped for something a little more filling and substantial. Maybe the hunters were having a better time of it. At least the pokemon should be happy with what they found here. Looking around though, Cai noted that not all of the berries were familiar to him. He'd have to be careful with which one's he brought back to the camp. At the very least, there were signs that wild pokemon might frequent this oasis. ((Rolling for flavor= spicy Since I wasn't sure when/where Cai should have gotten a rental bunneary I'm going to play it as an oddball wild one. I hope it's alright.))

(found: Figy Berry - Restores 12.5% HP, confuses Pokémon that dislike spicy food)
Anise started looking through the berries to see which ones she recognized. Oki sniffed around then as well, trying to to see if he could help. One smelled edible so he nibbled on it, but the spicy taste made his tongue feel like it was burning. He stumbled around, shaking his head as he tried to get rid of it.

Confused
Anise had encountered the problem before. She didn't have anything with her at the moment that could cure confusion. She didn't usually bother since it went away on its own, and she'd rather use the space for other medicines. So instead she steered Oki towards the pond, where he gulped water until the taste was washed away.

Part 2
Valarie stumbled into the oasis, "Ah! We finally made it." she sighed in relief. She brushed off her vest and looked around for Fois. The Hoothoot was taking a break in a palm tree.

"Alright Fois, lets gather some-- hey! Don't do that!" Valarie rushed forward towards her pokemon, but quickly ducked down when the Hoothoot swooped down and into the bush. Fois was obviously excited about this.
The Hoothoot returned with an oran berry in his beak, he was looking awfully pleased with himself.
"Good job, Fois!" Valarie praised and scratched his head before placing the berry in her bag.

Valarie crawled into a bush and started to look through it for some berries while Fois checked out a different one. The bush Valarie was in started to rustle when the Hoothoot landed on it with already another berry.
The watcher crawled out of the bush and looked at her pokemon, who immediately decided to drop the berry right in front of her and left to check another bush. Valarie picked up the chesto berry and placed it in her bag.

Valarie returned to searching the bush she was next to. A few minutes later, Fois returned with another berry.
"What did you get this time, buddy?" Valarie asked as she backed out of the bush once more. Fois dropped the berry in front of his trainer and cocked his head to the side.
Valarie picked up a rawst berry and placed it in her bag before petting Fois on his head and sending him off.

Valarie didn't bother returning to the bush since Fois seemed to be quick with his search. The Hoothoot landed in front of his trainer after a few minutes.
Fois dropped the green berry in front of the watcher and took off again, knowing that the berry he found was safe. Valarie picked up the lum berry and smiled.

This time it took Fois bit longer to find a berry, but he still returned safe and sound. He dropped the oddly shaped pink berry-- a bit hesitant at first. The Hoothoot really liked that one. Fois had a soft spot for sweet berries. Valarie knew this and picked it up and quickly placed it into her bag before Fois changes his mind and ate it on the spot.
"You're doing great so far!" Valarie commented before her pokemon left.

Fois returned with another berry in his beak and he waited for his trainer to finish organizing some things in her bag so the berries won't get squashed.
Fois got a bit impatient and left the oran berry next to her and returned to his gathering.

Valarie picked up the round, blue berry and placed it into her bag and waited. Fois returned minutes later with another chesto berry. The watcher held out her hand and Fois dropped it into hr palm and flew off again.
