Cara and Spirit kept collecting branches and leaves. Cara couldn't help but look around and see some of her fellow workers not doing much. "Hey guys, would pick up the pace please? It's not like we have a load of time to get this done." She called over to Gepardo and Katori as she picked up more branches and placed them in the group pile.

Spirit's latest attempt to cut down some branches and leaves missed. She alighted herself on a branch and blinked, not believing that she missed. She huffed at herself.
Cara smiled gently up at Spirit, seeing that she was angry with herself for missing an idle target. "It's ok Spirit, it happens to us all. Just think of this as battle practice! Let's keep at it." She called up to her.
Spirit chirped back, knowing Cara was right. She knew she had to keep working at it. So, she got back to work, attacking the tree they were currently working on.
Spirit hit the tree hard with her Steel Wing attack and it worked great. She managed to take down 10 branches all at once. Cara smiled and jumped happily before picking up the pile. "Great work Spirit!"
Spirit hummed and chirped happily, doing a loop-de-loop in the air.
Cara quite happily took the bundle of wood and placed it in the pile.

Spirit cut down several more branches and leaves and Cara picked them up. She decided they had another good bunch so she took it and put the bundle in the pile then went back to helping Spirit.
Spirit struck the trees again with another extremely successful hit. She spun in the air happily.
Cara laughed at her Vibrava's antics and picked up the newest batch then put it in the pile.

Kili egged Laurence on as he hacked away at the branches. He knew that his arms would be sore by the end, but it would be worth it. He was strong enough to get the branches that they needed!

He was getting a good haul; soon he would bring his bunch of branches back to the campsite. He'd seen that Spirit and Cara had added a significant amount of branches to the main pile; there was something to be said for the power of pokemon. Kili might not be much of a branch-cutter, but Laurence mused a bit over the idea of battling. He thought that Kili had the spirit in her to be a strong battler; her timidity decreased daily as she experienced new things, and he knew that she was tougher than she looked. Battling might be a good way for her to channel her excess energy and help her gain even more confidence in herself.
The only problem was that Laurence most certainly was not a battler. He hoped that Kili would be satisfied with his laid-back lifestyle. His thoughts returned to the task of felling tree branches and gathering leaves.

Laurence reached a hand up to Kili, who jumped off the tree she was perched on and onto his shoulder to hitch a ride. Before his pile got too heavy, Laurence brought it back to the main site.
With a tired grunt, he turned back to the trees. The pile was growing a decent amount, and he figured that he was about halfway done.

Laurence paused to clean his knife again. He found a smooth stone and did a rough job of whetting the blade. When the blade looked marginally sharper, he dropped the rock and got back to work. Kili jumped off his shoulder and climbed the tree to keep a lookout. "Chiri!" she called down to let her human friend know that all was well.

Hoping to finish up the rest of his branches in one go, Laurence continued working on the tree. The pile at his feet was growing quickly; he hoped that his team would soon have gathered enough supplies to begin the actual building of the shelter; the sooner that was done, the sooner he could rest his weary back!
"Chikk risu!" Kili chatted, happily swaying on her limb high above Laurence's head.

"Agh, that is enough," Laurence said, dropping his last branch. He was sweaty, sticky with sap, and much more tired than he'd like to be. "My age is getting the better of me," he complained in true old man fashion. "Come down from there before you break your neck," he added to Kili as he bent down to heave his large stack of branches back to the camp.
He dropped them off in the large pile and sat down in the shade for a well-deserved break. Kili bounded over on all fours like a squirrel and began investigating the pile of branches and leaves. It was a wonderful jungle gym from her point of view.

Squeek really like using cut! It gave his cheeks a rest and let his crawls do the work. He was having to much fun and he love seeing Remmy run around picking up all the fallen Branches! It was funny to him cus Remmy look like a crazy kid running!

Remmy started to pull down losses branches to take the full load off of Squeeks. Remmy felt like he wasn't helping much so he want to help more.
This however just fulled Squeek to work more. He was not going to let Remmy out shine him. He was a little boy and Squeek was a man! No way he was going let his friend out shine him!

Remmy started to pull on other trees since the other one was all done with ones that he could reach. He was glad that Squeek could get to the high ones and it seem he like cutting them down too!

Remmy was getting bored of all of this and wanted to make a game out of it so he could have some fun. He smile an evil girn as he came up with something and went over to Cara and pull on her shirt. "Carrrraa! Wanna make this funnnn! Like like ohhh i got it! Let see who can get the most Branches! Yeah! I bet Squeek and i can! Yeah!" He said with joy. He then look at the guy that was sitting down. No way that old guy was going to miss out in the fun! He ran other to him and said "Hey mister! Wanna join in the game too! Let see whoes the faster out of all of us! YES YEAH!!"
H ran back to the tree he was working on and yell up to Squeeks! "You here that boy! Let win it!" He said as he pull down some of the losses lower Branches.
Squeek was more then happy when he hared what Remmy said! He love game and love them even more when Remmy and him won. He chirp back at Remmy with joy.

Kili popped out of the main branch pile at the sound of Remmy's challenge. "Pikki chii!" she squeaked to Laurence, running around at his feet. "Risu!"
Laurence groaned and heaved himself back to his feet. He supposed that they still had a long way to go before they had enough supplies to build the shelter, but he wouldn't have minded a few more minutes of rest. However, it seemed that Kili would have none of that; he wanted to race.
"Risu risu!" the petite pokemon commanded as Laurence walked too slowly for her liking back to the trees. He began hacking away with his small knife once again while Kili supervised.
