“Ja, lunth.” Also, despite being monotone, Hel did not fail to notice the cheeky-ness. She narrowed her eyes at the boil, and then puffed out her cheeks, which felt weird to do, since her mouth was numb. “Smar athe.” Hel scooted closer after the boil out of habit, and stared at the ‘last leaf’ suspiciously, and then back at Bren. Boil wanted to be cheeky and then have her try one more…who knew what this would do… #YOLO Hel snatched the leaf out of his hand, heaved a heavy sigh, and then popped it into her mouth. At first, she couldn’t really taste it, though soon enough she found the feeling returning to her mouth. Jack, was she happy these effects didn’t stack for whatever reason…even though they should…hrm. She’d just be thankful for that at least. “Eh…tastes sorta…lemony…?” Hel paused, and then swallowed. She waited a moment. “…I do not feel any differently.” Her brows furrowed. Well, that was a bit anti-climatic. Oh well. “…Alright then! Off to lunch, ya!?” The ghoul made the motion to get up into a crouch, though she didn’t make it very far, and instead, more or less, ended up lunging right at Bren. She flailed a bit, wide eyed, and ended up latching onto the boil, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist to secure herself. “What the fu—“ She looked down at her legs, and then up at Bren from where she was squeezing his mid-section. “ I can not feel my legs.”

He paused, thisclose to protesting the whole smart a** thing, when he realized... he'd kind of been one. It was a novel feeling, deliberately needling someone, but he still felt he should apologize.
"I'm sorry, I..."
Well after the next half a minute or so had elapsed, the events it contained seemed obscured by a faint haze in the boil's mind. All he knew was that one second, his pen was poised above his notebook, prepared to write lemony in his precise hand, and the next, there was a ghoul around his waist, like a nice-smelling, squishy belt.
"Lemony," he said, a faint panic tinging the word. His eyes were wide once more, and for a moment, he did nothing, holding his breath as he stared down at Hel. Had he crippled a Hob?
It wasn't long before he moved again, grabbing the ghoul by the arms and trying to prop her upright, probably getting pen marks all over her in the process.
"I... um... should I take you to the nurse's office? Do you think it'll wear off? I don't suppose you want lunch now?" The last query was muttered under his breath as he decided that trying to dangle her by her limbs like a puppet probably wasn't the most comfortable way to move her around.Lucyal school-cation O.O gottagofast

Hel hated to think it…but she had a feeling that for right now, she was at Bren’s mercy. She felt like she could move everything from the waist up, but from the waist down…it was like it wasn’t there… it was Jackin’ weird. “ NO!” Hel vehemently hissed at the proposal of the nurse’s office. No. Not the nurse’s office! She didn’t like going there! “It better wear off!” She cried, a bit dismayed, and well, didn’t like that Bren was holding her up like a rag doll, so she just wrapped her arms around the boil’s neck to keep herself upright that way, dragging her legs behind her a bit…so weird. So awkward, but Hel didn’t have a concept of ‘awkward’, so it was probably just awkward for Bren. “Uh, duh—“ Hel started, as if it was obvious. “ I want lunch. I think I definitely earned it after this!” Though she was no way about to suggest that Bren pick her up and carry her anywhere…oh no. No, no, no. Smerdle Sorry Smerd...PRESSURE OAO

To say Brenley was merely uncomfortable would have been an understatement. He flinched slightly at her anti-nurse vehemence, struggling to find a place to put his hands before finally deciding to clasp them behind his back.
With an awkward nod, he said, "I agree, I just... You should have lunch. Fine. Then, maybe a hospital?" He cleared his throat. "Where would you like to go?" She wasn't all that heavy, but for some reason, he was having a bit of trouble breathing. He also might have been a little pink.
"And I can't... drag you around. I'm going to have to..." He cleared his throat again. "...carry you there."
Yes.Yes.Yes.

“ No hospitals either!” Though Hel was now distracted by the prospect of lunch, and was very unware (or probably didn’t care) of Bren’s discomfort. Her pondering of where to go was then interrupted at Bren’s proposal. Her eyes went wide and she stared at him like he’d gone crazy, because oh wait, he had. The thought of being carried off…no. Just, no. No, her pride could not, would not, allow that, but at the same time, she also recognized that for the time being, she pretty much wasn’t going anywhere until this plant effects wore off… She briefly contemplated ordering him to go get lunch and then bring it back…but hanging out in the bushes by herself wasn’t really that glorious either… “…Piggy back.” She declared.

Piggy back? Really? What if he accidentally let go of her legs and she snapped his neck as she fell? What if she puked paralysis leaves into his hair? What if someone saw them? Bren considered arguing, but, well, she seemed rather adamant about the whole thing. Besides, he was the boil who had bested giant, misty monsters and wielded a sword more than half as tall as he was. It wouldn't hurt his dignity that much to be a beast of burden for a while, especially since this was all kind of his fault. All right, mostly his fault.
"Yes. Okay. Piggy back it is," he said, his lips squishing together in a determined line.
Bren turned away from her before he crouched lower, choosing to suffer some brief, temporary strangulation rather than up close and personal face-to-face contact. He then pawed back toward her legs, gathering them up and lifting her onto his back. With no direction in mind and no desire to stand still for any longer than he had to, the boil began walking toward the Amityville cafeteria. He doubted Hel actually wanted Ginger's food, but it would be up to her to redirect him.

Hel just grinned as it was pretty much her way or the high way…? Sure. When Bren pulled her onto his back, she wrapped her arms securely around his neck, mindful not to strangle him, thankfully. At some point, when it became apparent that his idea of treating her to lunch was the school cafeteria, Hel reached and grabbed Bren’s ear lobe, and gave it a bit of a tug. “Uh, excuse you…the school cafeteria is not acceptable.” She leaned, her lips near his ear. “ Do you not know how to treat a ghoul?” She was teasing, of course, and then let go of his ear to point towards town. “I want to go to Pandora’s Box! Yanno, it is that café-thing-whatever that sells all the sandwiches and soups and stuff!” Smerdle Ride like the wind, Bren's Eye : ' D

Things would have been far too easy had she actually agreed to school food, but nothing about this experience had been easy, so Brenley couldn't find any new reasons to complain. Instead, he winced when she pulled at his ear, drew in a sharp breath as she spoke into it, and headed off toward town when she pointed out the way. The sooner he was done with this little trip, the sooner his day would become infinitely less confusing.
Bren had never heard of this Pandora's Box, but he was proud enough of the fact that he'd known which direction town was in before she had directed him toward it to worry about his lack of understanding when it came to local geography or demanding females. His arms had tired by the time he reached the outskirts of civilization, and even though he wanted nothing more than to put her down, he was pretty sure that would be a bad idea. Unless...
"How are your legs?" he asked, trying to sound more conversational than hopeful. "Also... where is this place?"Lucyal he has 'hel' written on his feet cuz she owns him

For someone who had been so against this earlier…Hel seemed to be enjoying herself now. She thought it was kind of fun to be carted on Bren’s back to the outskirts of town, and when he asked his question, well… “Oh!” A pause. “Actually back when we passed the Wishing Well I could feel my legs again! So I am certain there are fine now!” She just sounded oh so cheerful as she said this, and also made no move to let go of Bren yet, especially when she pointed over his shoulder and to the left. “It is that way!” Onward, Bren. Smerdle He just might as well get her name tattooed on his a**....LOL I'M KIDDING...maybe....: D

Brenley slowly came to a stop as Hel cheerfully admitted she had quite possibly regained her ability to stand on her own some time ago. He considered asking her nicely if she'd enjoy walking the rest of the way to their destination, he even inhaled a breath to do so, but then he thought once again about what had gone on here today and he held his tongue. Mostly.
He started moving again, picking up speed when he finally saw the cafe up ahead. "So. Is this how you're supposed to treat a ghoul?" he asked, glad he wasn't facing her so she couldn't see his smirk.Lucyal where is the tattoo needle

Hel couldn’t help but grin, and she wiggled a bit on his back as the café came into sight. At his question, she couldn’t help but chuckle, and her grin widened. “I dunno!” She cried. “I suppose so~! Yanno, in all the books and the movies, ghouls like being swept off their feet or whatever…what a bunch of bull s**t! HA!” She snickered. “Besides…I am not a ghoul…” She paused, and slid her fingers across Bren’s chest…just to readjust her hold on him. “I am a woman.” The reaper let that hang in the air for a moment, and once they were only a few steps away…the reaper finally let go of Bren’s neck, and planted her hands on his shoulders, giving them a pat. “Alright! Just let me go!” Smerdle HAHA...No, Bren...no...-tears-

He smiled in earnest at her response, shaking his head ever so slightly. It was true that the extent of his experience with ghouls consisted of a single dance with Piper, but even he wasn't quite sheltered enough to believe that simply carrying someone around on his back was an appropriate expression of chivalry or courtship.
As her fingers grazed his chest, the boil slowed to a stop again, finding himself at a momentary loss for... everything, really. "A woman. Yes. Right," he muttered. Bren bent over a little at her request, but not quite enough for her to comfortably reach the floor when he let go.Lucyal he is one of the worst minions

Hel released his neck, and landed on the ground with a thud. On her feet still, luckily, and she paused for a moment, just to make sure her legs wouldn’t suddenly give way. Nah, they were fine. Good, good. The ghoul grinned, and then finished the last few steps on her own to open the door for Bren, which she did with a mocking flourish. “After you.” She crooned. He nodded and made a soft sound of assent as he headed into the cafe. The place was not at all what he had expected, but it didn't seem terribly intimidating either. After taking a moment to assess his new surroundings, Brenley slowly turned back to Hel, his expression vaguely sheepish.
"I dropped you, didn't I? And I should have held the door. Sorry." He had no idea when this had gone from a science experiment to an etiquette lesson, but he wasn't doing terribly well with either today. Maybe he could hold out her chair for her when they sat down?

Hel followed on after the taller reaper, but stopped short as he turned around. “Eh?” For a moment, Hel looked baffled as to what Bren was talking about, before she caught back up. She blinked, and then laughed. “Oh, Jack!” She reached out to pat the boil on the shoulder. “Do not worry about it!” She cried. “I get dropped all the time, so I am used to it, and as for the door? Well, I would have been mad if you held it open for me, so it is fine!” She grinned. “Besides, that is stuff you do when you are trying to court ghoulie-ghouls. They eat that s**t up for some reason.” The ghoul then moved past Bren. “Come on, now! I am starving!” She also didn’t bother to wait, and approached the first available clerk…and ordered something like three sandwiches, a side of soup, a pastry, chips, and a hot chocolate, and then a regular fountain drink. She then moved off to the side, and stared at Bren expectantly with a wide smirk. Smerdle /dying Oh Bren, you're so cute -pinches his cheeks-
