Evangeline looked at him, 'he seems lost in thought. This girl must have been important to him.' She smiled, "It's amazing what music can do, isn't it? It's almost like magic." Evangeline sighed softly.

Evangeline looked down at her ice cream and was patting it down before scooping some. 'It is magic. Every time, music can do things that others cannot. Music can heal, change moods, help communicate to other people, and so many other things. Music is amazing.dd No wonder mother always wanted me to take those music classes.' She thought and then 'brushed her fingers against the strings of her harp absent mindedly.

"I can play the flute and trumpet, but I never really had an interest in them. I can sing as well, but not in public" Evangeline laughed, "The harp and I, we have always had this sort of relationship. One of necessity and desire. One of a perfect match. My mother says it's rare for someone to have such a relationship with their instrument."

Evangeline looked at her harp and smiled softly, "As such, I hate being separated from my harp, it's become such a huge part of me." She blushed as soon as she had realized how silly she sounded. "How about you? Do you play any instruments?"

"Oh, the piano. My mother tried to teach me that but I would take every chance to get the harp instead." Evangeline laughed. "The others would laugh when they saw my mother and I fighting about playing the piano. Eventually, so would we."

'So even a human like him gets attached to instruments. It's almost a surprise.' She smiled. "I would love to hear you play the piano, by the way. I love to listen to all kinds of music, just not so much playing them." She giggled again and finished the last bit of her ice cream. 'Mother would always play the piano for me and I loved it, it would be like living an old memory.' Evangeline smiled softly and looked out the window.

Evangeline blushed and smiled as Neah leaned towards her. "We are very close, we have our moments of wanting nothing to do with each other, but what relationship doesn't have that?" She giggled as she remembered some of the fun times between her and her mother.

"What about you?" She asked Neah. "Are you close with your mother?"

Evangeline was stunned by what she heard. 'I always knew that there were parents out there that do not get along with their children, but I never knew something this horrific could actually happen.'

Evangeline smiled, "If that's how she was, then perhaps she was not a real mother? Still, I am sorry that that had happened to you." She reached out and put her hand on his. "What of your father? If I may ask." She tilted her head and smiled sweetly towards Neah.

"A music shop? That sounds like a fun place to work at." Evangeline laughed. "But I'm glad that you have one of your parents who you can talk to. It's important to have someone you can go to in the time of need."

Evangeline looked down at her hand and saw that it was still on top of his. "Oh goodness, I'm so sorry." She said and pulled her hand away. "Forgive me for being so forward." She said and blushed a bright red.

Evangeline blushed and smiled. "If you're sure." She said and put her hands on top of the table. 'He's so sweet.'

'He's so red. It's not from anger, not with that smile. It must be from embarrassment. Oh, my face is probably just as bad.' Evangeline blushed again.

"Will you excuse me? I'll be right back." Evangeline said and stood up. She turned around a little to quickly and knocked over a chair with her wings. She blushed even more and ran to the bathroom and locked herself in the stall.

'Well that was a foolish thing to do, Evangeline. Entirely foolish.' She thought to herself and leaned against the wall. 'He probably thinks you're an idiot now.' Evangeline sighed and closed her eyes. "Oh, mother, what am I supposed to do?'

Evangeline took a deep breath. 'It'll be ok, your just being silly.' With that thought, she left the bathroom and walked back and saw Neah where she left him. She could here him humming as she got closer, 'He has a nice voice.' She smiled.

"Sorry about that." She smiled and looked at where she knocked the chair over and saw that it was picked up. "Thank you, Neah." She blushed again. She sat down in her chair and looked out the window. 'Now what do I do?' She thought to herself.
