Erionda’s face engulfed in even darker flamed as she realized where her hands were still resting. And that the girl was looking at them but not trying to appear phased by it. She heard and felt Kilian, her magic subsiding at his request. Sending him a silent plea of her own that she didn’t want to see him hurt. Her eyes searched his face before turning back to Nekane. He deserved time alone with the girl. Without her invasions. Her heart ached knowing he cared for her, and would no longer be able to see her as freely as he would have. Brushing Kilians dreads behind his ear she gave him a soft smile. Her body completely pulling away from his. She gave no notice she had registered her missing piece of armor as she slipped out of view behind the trees.
She was uncomfortable being around Oblivionites right now. And even more so that she had been caught, in that position with Kilian. Through the branches and leaves that hid her from view Erionda could see bandages and a fresh mask. Almost like the one she had removed from Kilian moments before. Her eyes flicked between the Oblivionites cautiously. Listening to the sounds of the fire and the silence that seemed to stretch on with the girls obvious discomfort. It was good of her to come and see Kilian. Erionda smiled as she glanced at her love. She could only guess Nekane brought him untold happiness with her presence alone.
Her eyes traced over the girl. Was this the very one she had been told about?

Kilian relaxed as he felt Erionda’s magic subside. His cousin wasn’t a fighter as far as he knew and he was sure that she wouldn’t attack. In the back of his mind, however, was a nagging sense that things had changed drastically in the Fedele household. He didn’t care though. He was finished with his father. Lost in his thoughts, Kilian didn’t realize Erionda was pulling away from him until it was too late. His arms ached with the emptiness that Erionda left behind.
He bit back a groan as he fought the urge to grab her and pull her back down to him. Kilian pushed himself up from the ground and watched as she slipped behind the trees and out of sight. His gaze moved back to Nekane as she turned around to face him. “What is it?” Kilian asked gruffly. His voice held a tinge of menace that was left over from the earlier happenings.
Nekane flinched at the harshness and Kilian instantly regretted it. He let out a sigh as his shoulders slumped and he leaned back against the tree, needing the support to keep him on his feet. This day had been draining on him. In both a good and a bad way. He shoved his dreads back over his shoulder as he looked at Nekane’s hands. She noticed his gaze and held the offering out. “I saw your old mask get cut when the half...” Nekane stopped herself mid sentence and chewed on her bottom lip. “As the...girl tackled your father.” She walked over to her cousin and held the bandages and facemask out to him.
Kilian let the items fall to the ground, uninterested in them as he wrapped his arms around his cousin, embracing her in a hug. “I am sorry you got dragged into the middle of this Nekane.” He said as he pulled back to smile softly down at his cousin.
Nekane shook her head at that. “Itzal’s changed Kilian.” She frowned as she pulled away from her cousin. “Lets not talk about that, please.” She had to go back to it. She had to deal with him and she’d rather not ruin her meeting with Kilian by thinking about it. She gazed past him and into the trees where Erionda had disappeared into. “Is she the one, Kilian?” Nekane asked as her gaze locked back onto Kilian’s face. “Is she the one who helped you on Serenia?” Kilian nodded as he smiled at the remembered meeting. That day had thrown his life off it’s course so much but he wouldn’t change it for the world.

Erionda wrapped her arms around herself. Turning to look away from Kilian and Nekane. She wanted to give them all the privacy in the world. Her eyes flicked up to the sky above, leaning back to rest her body against the tree. Her head felt heavy, and the previous interaction and still rather fuzzy. Running her fingers through her hair she heaved a sigh. Kilian was a wonderful person, unlike most he could look past almost anything into anyone. Unlike anyone else who she had met, other Hybrids aside. He wasn’t focused on her physical appearance. And she liked that.
She flinched at the tone in Kilians voice, but understood that the betrayal he felt ran deep. She had felt that once when her mother and father had passed away. Only this was different, she had to remind herself, his father wasn’t dead. He was still living, breathing, and walking around. She pressed a hand to her heart as it clenched painfully. She couldn’t even begin to imagine the pain he was suffering. And she had completely taken advantage of him in a situation where he was vulnerable. She tapped her head against the trunk of the tree, guilt pressed against her. She was horrid for taking advantage of him like that.
The sound of Nekane’s voice caused Rio to turn her head slightly and look out from the corner of her eyes. She had tried to censor her words about Rio’s heritage. Erionda smirked a little, looking away as she listened in. Unsure if the change in speech had anything to do with her love for Kilian. Or because Nekane was trying to show respect towards her due to the medal ceremony? Erionda shook her head she wasn’t sure. Either way the girl had expressed Erionda’s fear. The wound was her fault. And had brought bandages and other things for him. Erionda sighed. Even though she loved him, she had limitations and wouldn’t readily be able to supply the things for him that his family could.
Reaching up she plucked a leaf from the tree above her, mulling it between her fingers. Her eyes and head instantly flicked back towards Kilian and Nekane at the mention of a change in Kilians father. Her eyes narrowed suspiciously as Kilian cut her off. It was natural he would not want to hear about Itzal but something about the tone of Nekane’s voice pulled at Erionda. She could in no way ignore what the girl had said. Her body turned to face Kilian when Nekane mentioned her. Erionda stepped tentatively out of the leaves. She didn’t trust the female Oblivionite, and with Kilians pleading against her magic Erionda kept her body behind Kilian. Without her sword and with her magic subsided by her Oblivionite the hybrid felt vulnerable. Raising her hand to place it on Kilians shoulder. “Kilian. Somethings wrong.” She looked towards Nekane. “What do you mean he’s changed. He’s not... Hitting you is he?” Erionda’s hand slipped down Kilians arm, fitting her fingers between his. With a squeeze. She was sorry, for what she was pressing on him. But shouldn’t sit by and allow more pain and guilt into his family.

Kilian jumped at the contact on his shoulder. He had not expected it but was pleasantly surprised. He listened as she talked to Nekane and frowned. His gaze went back to his cousin as Erionda asked her questions. Her hand slipped into his and he gave a light squeeze back in response to her own squeeze. When Nekane hesitated he pressed her on the issue. “Erionda’s right. What’s been going on Nekane?”
Nekane’s head turned to the side, trying to avoid the looks from the pair. It was no use. Though she didn’t really know how to explain what had been going on lately. “No.” Nekane replied. “No, he’s not been hitting me.” She sucked in her bottom lip and chewed on it some as she decided what all to tell them. “His demeanor has changed mostly.” She looked over at Erionda. “The man you saw today use to not be like that.”
Kilian clinched his teeth together at the mention of earlier. “Things change, Nekane. Or he could have had that hatred buried deep inside him from the beginning.” Kilian said as he flexed the hand that held Erionda’s. “I...I don’t know. He just seems so different.” Nekane commented as she looked back at Kilian. As if sensing the need for a change of subject Nekane turned her attention back to Erionda. “Are you...the one who helped him on Serenia? Who helped him get the water?”

Rio hesitated as questions were diverted towards her. the girl was clearly trying to change the subject. her eyes flicked to peak at kilians face. lacking success with his heads in the way. sighing Rio closed her eyes and nodded slowly. she had been fairly rude to kilian then. it was a wonder that they had even grown so close to start with.

Kilian glanced between the two females wondering what was going to happen next. It had to be putting Erionda on edge to be so close to someone she didn’t know. He closed his sockets and let out a small sigh. Nekane blinked as she looked back at her cousin. Her sockets widened as she remembered what she had intterupted. Her cheeks flamed a dark shade of red as she fumbled with her hands.
“I uh, I better go.” Nekane chewed on her lower lip as she hesitated, not sure if an embrace would be welcome from her cousin. Kilian solved the problem by reaching out and dragging her into a tight hug. “Stay safe, Nekane.” He said as he pulled back. “Thank you for coming.” He smiled as he let his cousin go and stepped back, his arm snaking around Erionda’s waist and pulling her in close to his side.
“Bye.” Nekane whispered as she turned away from the pair and headed away from the camp, quickly disappearing into the darkness of the forest. Kilian sighed and slumped his shoulders. So much had happened and he was so tired of trying to act strong at this point. He glanced over at Rio, the expression on his face full of love.

Erionda’s eyes watched the female Oblivionite closely. Something about the way her face burned with color made Erionda’s eyes narrowed into slits at the girl. Her eyes searching her face desperate to know what she was thinking. Why she would be blushing so hard. Her eyes searched the tiny clearing where she and Kilian had set up camp. Stopping when they found his shirt and her shoulder piece laying on the ground. Her own face ignited with a feverish blush as she looked away. Moving to step once again out of view. Was it really right for his cousin to blush at this? Did she have deeper feelings for Kilian than either of them knew? Shaking her head Erionda moved to slip away once again into the trees when Kilians strong arm wrapped around her waist pulling her back.
Thy hybrid turned in his arm. Shifting one hand to his shoulder the other on his bicep. A sorrow filled her heart. She had been keeping a very terrible secret from Kilian ever since she had learned the true reason about the Diabi and his hatred for dragons. She herself harbored deep resentment towards the foul creatures but little would stop her body from changing in the future as she matured. She watched after Nekane with a sorrowful gaze. Feeling the cool air pick up behind them and pushing her hair over her shoulder. She took in a deep breath as Kilian sighed. Looking up at him, trying to press a smile to her lips at the look on his face. It was like a stabbing pain in her chest with each beat of her heart. She couldn’t tell him about it now, he had already been through so much.
Glancing quickly away Rio tried to look distracted by the fire. Unsure of what to do. It was her fault this had been caused. Her fault Kilian had suffered so much today. Leaning her head against his shoulder timidly, as if afraid to let herself re-open to the point they had been before Nekane had interrupted them she side. Hanging her head low, if she told him now, if he rejected her. He could easily return to his family, pretend she had been nothing but a joke to tease his father and test his strength. A cruel sense of humor. He could even lop her head off then and there, she deserved it for what she was holding back. That one day, she would transform into a dragon. Like her father and mother had done. And their parents before them. As far back down the line as their ancestors were Aiskala clan members. All she could do with each passing moment was hate her self more.
WIthout saying a word Erionda moved towards the fire, unaware her actions were out of the ordinary. She pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around her legs. Resting her chin on her knees before speaking. “You shouldn’t have chosen me over them. Family is a precious gift Kilian. And she obviously loves you a lot. And you don’t have the kind of baggage I do. There’s a lot about me that you don’t know.” She finally said.

Kilian’s brows knitted together in a frown as he watched Erionda move over to the fire. He could tell that something was bother her. “Rio...” Kilian whispered as she began to talk. She continued on, though, as if she hadn’t heard her name whispered. He shook his head as he moved to sit next to her in front of the fire.
She was right, of course. Family was a precious gift. One that was taken away unfairly from some. Like his cousin. LIke Erionda. So it must seem blasphemous for him to throw his away so easily. If only it had been that easy. It had tore at his heart to see his father and his love fighting. It had even tore at him when he had to raise a blade to his father. He’d do it again, though, if it meant Erionda’s life. She had to understand that. Had to realize how deep his feelings for her ran.
Kilian placed his arms on the ground behind him and supported his weight as he leaned back. He stared off into the fire, as if the flames that leaped up into the air held all the answers to their problems. He closed his sockets as he let a little sigh escape his lips. “I won’t lie.” Kilian said as he opened his sockets and continued to stare into the flames. “What happened today was very hard to deal with. They’re my family.” He frowned as he thought of the way his dad had acted. Not at all how he had remembered. Could someone change in such a short time or was that how he’d always been. Had Kilian’s view of his father been blinded by a son’s love? He shook his head. “My father’s actions were inexcusable though.”
Kilianed looked at Erionda then. The way the light from the flames played against her skin made a searing ache course through him. “I would give my life for you Erionda. You must realize that by now.” He leaned forward, his legs coming up as he rested his arms on them. “Please Rio...please don’t say those things.” He moved closer to her, reaching with one of his hands to raise her chin up. “I don’t care what kind of baggage you carry.” His thumb ran across her cheek. “I love you Rio. There’s no denying that. No escaping the fact that I’d give everything up just for you.”

“You can’t say things like that!” Erionda retorted snapping her head to face Kilian. Tears returning as her heart threatened to explode within her chest. The pain was reaching an unbearable high. She loved him too, more than she thought she could love another living being other than her Drakein. Was this what made everything so hard. Was she holding back so much because she feared losing one of the few things in life she treasured beyond life itself? Her hand reached out desperately, her fingers slipping over his. Her eyes held a fierce fire behind the tears.
Searching his face for a brief moment Erionda shrunk back. “I love you too, Kilian. It’s what makes this so hard.” Her free fingers searched the ground around her for a stone. Picking it up she loped it into the fire. Her eyes circled the stone as it slowly absorbed the heat. Cracking at the sudden change in temperature. Sniffing she raised a hand and brushed her tears off her cheeks as she refused to turn to look at Kilian. Her fingers in his squeezed hard with her internal struggle. “The fear of dragons... You know I’m prominently Dovaa Kilian. I know they keep to themselves. Hidden deep within the guarded world of the celestial plane. As they age...” She trailed off pulling her hand away from his and placing both of them out in front of her. Her multi colored eyes focused hard on her open palms. Her eyes watched as her fingers curled inward and out again. Vying for time as her thoughts tried to organize themselves.
Her heart struggled to harden as she willed herself to speak. “Dovaa transform, our bodies, they change!” Her head flicked back to Kilian. Leveling him with a purposeful glare. Her right hand flicking out and reaching out to take hold of Kilians. Hoping to raise his hand before he could pull away. Tugging him forward slightly she moved his hand up to her horn. Her body trembling with overwhelming fear as she struggled to push through what she suspected was coming. Closing her eyes as she prepared herself for the Oblivionite she loved to pull away. To shy away from her refuse to touch the dragon like parts of her body.
Internal flames engulfed her body. Her horns were an intimate part of her. Sensation after sensations reeled out of control not unlike the feelings she had experienced with Kilian only moments prior to Nekane’s intrusions. Her body trembled, her fingers laxed on his hand. Gliding towards his wrist. Shiting so her shoulders were square with his body Erionda moved his hand down to her cheeks. Seeking his fingers with her free hand, she moved them over the scales under her eyes. Ignoring the tears that smoothed over the purple protrusions of her skin. Giving them a lighter glint than her jewelry in the firelight. The violet color taking on a brief red hue as they reflected their surroundings. Her eyes opened as she desperately pleaded with him. Moving his hand and pressing it against her chest. Over her beating heart. “I’ll change Kilian... And... there may be nothing I can do about it.” She let her hand drop away from his. Trying to pull her emotions together.

Kilian’s fingers laced with Erionda’s. The way she was acting scared him. Scared him more than having to face off with his father. What was going on inside her mind? What was she struggling so hard to tell him and yet seemed to stumble over hte words whenever she attempted to do so? He frowned when she pulled back, wanting nothing more than to pull her back over to him. To hold her in his lap and kiss her until they both lost their minds.
His heart skipped a beat as Erionda said those three words. Kilian would never get tired of hearing them come from her mouth. However, they almost had a sad tinge to them this time. His heart ached as he tried to read the emotions crossing her face. He watched as she threw a rockinto the fire and cringed at the sound it made. “Yes, I know.” Kilian said in response to the Dovaa comment. He may not care but he could never forget that she was part Dovaa and part Orderite. It was hard to miss at least one of those races in her.
Kilian’s muscles bunched under his skin as he moved to lean forward, arms resting on his legs again. his gaze followed her outstretched hands and he watched as she flexed her hand. His head snapped up and over to look at her as she let the words flow from her mouth. They transformed? What did she mean by that? He jumped as she grabbed hold of his hand. He let her move it, not resisting in the least. She could do anything that she wanted to him and he would never resist. He went forward willingly and shuddered slightly as she made him touch her horns. He had never ahd the opportunity to do so on his own. Had worried she would think it rude of him.
In the back of his mind he knew she resembled the dragons he so loathed. Knew that she probably even carried a bit of the dragon blood within her. His fingers lightly traced the ridges of her horns and then the length. He let her move his hand again, this time down to her face. The scales that laid beneath her eyes glistened wiht the tears that had fallen down her cheeks. He let out a breathy groan as he wished for this to be over with so that he could take her in his arms. His muscles jerked as she lowered his hand even further. The beating of her heart pounded against the palm of his hand, sending sharp sensations pulsing through his body. “Ah..” He raised his head up and gazed at her face. “Rio...” He whispered. His mind was foggy with the sensations that coursed through him.
Whether she had meant it or not, this had turned sensual and his body was reeling with the fact that it could have her completely. He shook his head, clearing the fog that seemed to settle itself down. “You’ll...change?” He muttered as he pulled back, slightly confused by what she meant. Did she mean that she’d turn into a dragon? He frowned. “Are you...sure?” He asked hesitantly. This news didn’t affect the way he felt about her. Little could sway his heart. If it was true, he’d just have to learn to get over his aversion to dragons.

Erionda’s heart broke as Kilian pulled away, it was just as she suspected. Was he afraid of her, with the news, the realization about her? Was he regretting his choice? Did he want to run away from her? Pretend he had never met her? Was he planning a way to kill her? Oh please let it be a swift death. Erionda pleaded mentally. Pained by the actions her hands dropped pleadingly towards the ground. Her fingers digging into the forest grass and dirt under her skin. Her head lowered to hide behind her hair. “Yes...” Erionda whispered, her voice shook with the effort of trying to close herself off. Of rebuilding the strong walls around her. “I’m sure, the Dovaa blood is stronger than the Orderites. I’ll have the form of a dragon one day.”
Her shoulders shook as repressed sobs struggled to move their way out. Sobs she refused to let loose. All she seemed to be doing lately was cry. Why!? why was this so hard for her. Why was she so desperate for Kilian to see her as she was? To know her as she would be? To see HER! “I’m sorry...” Erionda rasped, her fingers gripped tighter at the earth. “And I don’t blame you, for wanting to erase what we have. To return to your family. You can even take my life knowing what I really am.” Tears splashed against her knees. She wouldn’t fight him. It was her fault to start with that she had hidden this. She deserved whatever consequence he deemed necessary for her obvious betrayal. but she couldn't help but want to feel his arms around her. "despite what i am. i know it didn't matter before. does it still not matter now? and please kilian. be honest with me. don't let my love for you cloud your judgement please." Erionda tentatively glanced up. searching to see if kilian was there or if he had left while he spoke. mentally pleading that being in the form of a dragon could be overlooked. she wanted to be as upfront with Kilian from that point forward.

Kilian's face was unreadable. This information didn't change how he felt about her but it was a blow. He had never known that the Dovaa had a dragon form. He covered his face with his hands as she confrmed his question. Letting out a ragged sigh he ran his hands through his dreads, shoving them back away from his face. The heat from the flames seemed to be consuming him. He was too hot. With a curse, he pushed himself up from the ground and paced a few feet back away from them. Why had she kept thsi from him? His gaze traveled back over to Erionda, taking in the way she held herself and how it looked defeated.
Kilian frowned and his shoulders slumped. Kilian winced at the muttered sorry. She always seemed to be apologizing to him. He didn't like it. His sockets widened in the next instant. "Erionda..." He stalked back over next to the fire and crouched down beside her. "Is that what you think?" Kilian asked, his heart aching when he saw the tears hit her knees. He shook his head as she looked up at him. "Rio...Rio.." He whispered softy as he touched his fingers to her cheek, to her scales. "What a mess we are, huh?" He asked on a small huff that could have passed for a laugh in any other situation.
"It's a shock." Kilian said as he let his hand travel up to her to get tangled up in the strands. His gaze traveled to the necklace he had given to her. His heart catching in his throat. "I can deal with it though." He finally said. "Rio, I knew I loved you long before you said it." He shook his head and leaned forward, resting his forehead against hers and closing his sockets. "Please don't cry. It breaks my heart to see those tears on your cheeks." He said softly as he snaked his arms around her, bringing her into a tight hug.

Erionda’s heart continued to shatter as Kilian pulled even further away. Wincing as she heard his name flow from her lips. Her body flinching and constricting as he moved close to her. Shivering with anticipation of the horrible things that could potentially follow. She hadn’t expected the shorter version of her name to follow. Flinching instinctively when his fingers reached out to brush along her scales. Mess? Her eyes flashed and searched his face several times over. Her wall’s she struggled to rebuild. His honesty was welcome. And her fingers itched to reach out and hug him. She held back, unsure if he would even accept her approach. He had learned a horrible thing about her.
The rest of his words had shocked her. Was he really being honest? Did he really have the ability to deal with it? Her heart froze as he repeated his love for her. Her body shivered when his forehead met hers. She waited a split second before she moved to lean forward her hands wrapping around her Oblivionite. Just as his arms snaked around her. Hugging her to him. Her walls she had struggled to build up in a flash. Were torn down by him even quicker. Mentally promising herself she wouldn’t cry so easily before him anymore. She was stronger than that, so why had she allowed her emotions to show so visibly to him every time. She buried her nose in his collar bone. Taking in a deep breath of the comforting smell around him. “Thank you, thank you for being honest. And for always accepting me as I am.”

Kilian pulled Erionda into his lap, holding her tightly to him. “I will always be honest with you.’ He said as he kissed her forehead and moved down to her lips. He pulled back to look down at her face, desperate to be inside her head, to know what she was thinking about at that moment. He let out a small sigh as his gaze took in the scales scattered on her face and then traveled up to her horns.
He had enjoyed touching them. She had never openly offered for him to touch her horns and he had held himself back before, not wanting her to shrink back away from him. His hands itched to rub over them again. His fingers ran lightly up and down her back as he contemplated. Kilian couldn’t hold back anymore. The compulsion to run his fingers over her horns was too much. He pulled one of his ams free from around Erionda and leaned his body back, raising his hand up towards her head.
He hesitated as he brought his hand up to her horns and looked at her face. Would she pulle away from him? Kilian took a deep breath as he let his figners lightly run over her horns. His fingers still in his exploration long enough to look back down at her face.

The hands on her back were relaxing the kiss he had given her had settled her completely. Calming each of her shattered nerves and pulling her sanity back together. Rebuilding her emotions into a stable state. He always seemed to know just what to do in order to calm her. She let him move her into his lap, her eyes closed compliantly. She trusted Kilian wholeheartedly. There was no physical way he could possibly hurt her. At least not intentionally, she figured, giving a soft smile.
Erionda shifted in his lap when he pulled an arm free, part of her wanted to know what he was up to. And another part didn’t care. He was still here, after she had divulged her deepest secret to him. Her eyes opened halfway as Kilian leaned back, turning her head to look at him. Pausing when she felt his fingers brush against her horns. Groaning with the overwhelming sensations Erionda pressed her head into Kilians chest. Her arms tightened around Kilian. “K-kilian... t-they’re...” Her eyes locked on his gaze desperate to show him what she was struggling with internally at his touch. Her body cried with the need for him to continue. To kiss her and not stop. Her body trembled pleasurably. “I … don’t think I could hold back if you continue.” A blush kissed her cheeks as she closed her eyes. Kissing the closest part of his skin available to her.
