Talia could sympathise completely but there was no rushing the healing process. "Here let me help you." She moved forward to help him sit up and grabbed a cushion to prop him up. "As long as it takes. I'm afraid you injury was very serious, you were lucky to keep your foot really. You're lucky they brought you here."

Az leaned into her as she helped him and caught the fresh scent of herbs on her clothes and skin. He decided he rather liked it after spending hours on end in the dust and sweat of the forge. Leaning back into the pillow, he breathed in deeply and looked wistfully at his foot. "Well... better my foot than that kid's head," he sighed a little and then looked up at her with a small smile. "I'm glad they thought to bring me here."

Talia nodded. "That was very heroic of you. Would you like something to drink? I have a tea that will help dull the pain. I will bring you some food a bit later." he smiled and looked to the door. "You should know I have two large dogs, they're friendly enough so there is no need to worry about them, they might come in and say hello, if you don't like them I'll make sure I keep the door closed."

Az smirked a little and shook his head. "There wasn't anything heroic about it. It was just the right thing to do. I was just in the right place at the right time," he shrugged a little and followed her eyes to the door. Her mention of her dogs brought a smile to his lips.
"Nah, I like dogs. Never had the time to keep one, but I've always liked them," he replied and looked back up at her. "How long have you been practicing medicine Talia?"

"All my adult life." She replied with a smile. "People call me a witch doctor but I was a real doctor on my world, in a big city hospital." Things had certainly changed a lot for her. "Were you a builder in your past life?" She asked, walking over to the door and pulling it open.

Azriel smiled at her reply and was again thankful that one of his guys had thought to bring him here. He had heard whisperings of a witch, but he had never taken them seriously. He was glad to find that they were not true. Watching her go to the door, he smiled as two large dogs came into the room.
"They're gorgeous," he smiled and held his hand out to them. "I guess you could say I was a builder," he smirked lightly and looked up at her. "I did many things in my past life. I had a hard time sitting still for too long."

"The female is Luna, the male Sol." She said as she watched the curious pair wander over to the new person and sniff at him. "I found Sol as a puppy and I bought Luna off some guy in the market. They keep me safe." She thought the occupation of Jack of all trades suited him, he had that cheeky smile and easy manner that she imagined got him anything he wanted. "I'll just get you some tea, I will be back in a moment."

Az smiled and nodded to her as he let both dogs sniff his hand. "Thank you," he replied and began to scratch Luna behind her soft ear. When Talia came back, he gave her a smile and continued to pet the dogs.
"Why did you pick the sun and the moon for their names?"

Talia returned with a large mug of steaming tea and some homemade cookies incase he felt he needed some food. "I'm not really sure." She replied with a smirk as she shoed the dogs away and placed the cup and cookies on the table next to the bed he was on. "I got them when the sky went dark and I suppose they seemed like good names to remind me of the moon and sun. They're strong names."

"They are very strong names," Az agreed with a nod. Carefully, he reached out and picked up the mug of tea. He was feeling much steadier now and was grateful for that. He really hated showing weakness. "Do you have any family that live with you?" he asked as he sipped the tea.

"No family, they're all gone." She smiled sadly, though her story was no different from any that had lived and survived. "Just me and the dogs. What about you? Were you one of the lucky ones?"

Az watched the sadness in her eyes and smiled gently. There had been so much loss. He supposed that was why he was so determined to set things right again. "Well... I didn't really have much of a family to begin with. Just an uncle who wasn't really my uncle. But he took me in and raised me. He didn't make it though," he smiled a little. As sad as it was, he was grateful that he had had any amount of time with that man.

"Well he seemed to have raised you right." She smiled, walking over to her medicine cabinet to get some things together for one of her clients. "I know you are not happy to be incapacitated but from my point of view it's quite nice to have someone to talk to. Most of my clients just pass through. It's a little lonely."

Az gave a little laugh and glanced around. "I could see how it would be lonely around here. Though the benefits must outweigh that?" he smiled and watched her move around. There was something about her, he decided, that made it difficult for him to keep his eyes off of her. He couldn't quite pinpoint what it was though. She was pretty, for sure, but it was more than that.

She nodded. "Yes, I like helping people, I always wanted to be a doctor, ever since I was a child, when I came here with the others from my planet I knew I had to do anything I could to help people. First I worked with other healers to deal with those who came initially, I don't need to tell you how many injured there were and worse. Then when that died down I set up on my own here. I mostly deal with minor things but I enjoy it, working with families."
