"That sounds great. Tea and a snack. And out of this chilly weather too." Ulane went a little closer to the man, giving him a little pat on the shoulder, before shifting his bag one last time. He didn't know WHY he carried a messenger bag. Well, yes, he did, it was easier to get papers in and out of. And it seemed just a bit more professional than just a back pack, but it did cut a bit into his shoulder. He'd be so very grateful for when he could finally put the ridiculously heavy thing down!
"By the way, why doesn't your club relocate somewhere a bit more.. I dunno, friendly? I'm sure there are plenty of places open for rental on the not-so-dark-and-icky part of town. Or even just a few blocks up, in my shopping center."

Dimitri slung his backpack on his shoulder, grunting at the weight of the textbooks. You'd think if all the heavy books he constantly lugged around, he'd have some muscles by now. "I believe Jacob chose the location because he thought it would be 'cool'." He laughed, remembering just how exciting the club president had made it sound. "Plus the rent was really cheap and we're all poor students. We rather like the place though, so we don't want to move." As he talked he began walking, leading away from the club with its light and spill of not-quite-sober people.

"Being cool is all Fine and dandy, but what if you got hurt? What if I hadn't come by when I did? But I guess the world is full of 'what if's' so it's best not to dwell on it. You're safe, and wonderful and able to go and have a cup of tea with me. So all's went that ends well." Upon reaching the door to the little cafe, he held it open for the other, smiling.
"To celebrate this rather fortunate night, how about I treat you?"

Dimitri shrugged. "There are going to be assholes like that everywhere. The probability of encountering one is definitely higher in this sort of area, but the fault is all mine for stepping into the situation. I am grateful you turned up though." He smiled as the door was opened, walking inside. "I can't say no to that," he agreed cheerfully as he found them a table.

"Ah, goodness, friend! The more you speak, the more I wish to teach you how to fight! Or atleast how to dodge long enough so others just wear themselves out." That sounded like a plan.. Not a plan for tonight, but a plan, if Dimitri would before it. Taking a second to finally look over the man in the brighter light than on the side of the street, he couldn't help but grin a little wider. That was a literal bowl cut, wasn't it? What honestly made him think that was a good idea? It was like the man was just asking to get beat down by some bullies.. But if it made him happy, who was Ulane to judge. Then again, maybe he was still hurt about his own hair, once reaching past his waist, that had recently been burned off to as short as it is now due to an encounter with one of the crazy powered folk of Destiny City.
"So, now that we're getting cozy and not in danger of anything, how about you tell me more about yourself. I can tell you're a student, and you like chess.. And that you're valiant, if not a wee bit foolish, but it's refreshing!"

At being called valiant, Dimitri sat up that little bit taller, obviously pleased to be referred to as such. “Well,” he began as he shifted his heavy bag under his chair, “I’m a twenty-year old student of Sovereign Heights Prep School. I probably could have made the leap to uni last year, actually I’m sure I could have, but I like to be prepared so I’m giving myself one last year before I join the big leagues. My specialty is physics and I suppose it’s rather obvious that I fall into the nerd category. Can’t seem to escape it.” The waitress arrived at their table and Dimitri took the menu with a ‘thanks’, momentarily distracted from his train of thought as he ran a finger down the list. They’d come in for tea, but he really wouldn’t mind a vanilla milkshake.

"Ah, I see, I see! Taking your time, huh? Not much like me. I'm twenty one years old, going to Destiny U for a degree in teaching, focusing on music." When the waitress came over, he gracious took the menu with a nod, his eyes still on the nerdy boy before him. A small laugh came from him when Dimitri was forward enough to call himself nerdy, finding it cute, in a way. Nerdy guys weren't all that bad. Until they had to constantly find themselves right. Ugh.. There were so many of those kinds of people at his school..
"I'm going to graduate in the spring, and then I'll be a full time teacher at the local elementary school. I'm already a student teacher there, just waiting until my degree is finalized. And there's nothing wrong with being nerdy. I think their status on the 'hot' bar has risen significantly in recent years." He could think of a number of 'hot nerds' on his own personal list, but perhaps his definition of hot was a bit off..
"Tea is all good and what not, but I'm really craving a smoothie.. what do you think?"

"Nothing wrong with knowing what you want and going for it. Of course, knowing you've accomplished so much already makes me want to hurry up too," he shook his head and then followed the motion by pushing his glasses up the short space they had fallen down his nose. "It won’t be years until I’m actually in the field." Still, it was better to take the long road and make sure he was up to scratch; there was a whole big life ahead of him. "I think you’ll make a great teacher… even if I did just meet you." Dimitri laughed. "I must have missed the 'nerds are hot now' memo, along with every girl I've ever met." As far as nerdy went, he was on the high end of the spectrum and his chosen appearance didn't help in the matter. That was just something he had to live with. "If you go smoothie, I will take a vanilla milkshake, please."

"I'm hoping so too. I've already had to deal with several headstrong students, but I love every single one of them. I'm actually really excited to have children myself one day. Probably adopt a bunch of them, and live on a giant hillside somewhere cozily. It's a silly dream, but I'll be fantastic, I just know it." There were far to many children stuck in the system as it is.. Maybe he could atleast be a foster parent. He would have to get his own place, first. He still lived with his parents since University was so expensive, and it wasn't something he could afford on his salary right now.
"Naw, maybe you're looking at the wrong crowd. You're rather cute, if you asked me, but I doubt my compliments matter. You just need to check the right fields, go to the right places, to the right games and events. You'll find someone who's perfect for you, I'm certain of it." Waving at the waitress and giving her a charming smiling, he ordered their drinks for them, handing the menu's back to the lovely young woman who hurried along with their order.
"What do you plan to do when you get into your field, huh? Any specific brand of physics?"
