"Mm." Jordan gave Ro a thoughtful look. "Just keep in mind that spars that go too far have consequences. Be careful, dude. I don't want to see you cuffed or anything."
He lay back on the sand, linking his fingers behind his head and half-closing his eyes against the brightness of the sun. "Doing okay?" he asked.

"I know, I know, but the situation this would come up in isn't going to be a spar." He stretched out a bit more sighing again. "No. I'm not okay, I'm not bad either."
He moved to sit in the sand beside Jordan plucking up a stone and winging it towards the sea. "Nevada doesn't remember me and has made it clear if I get near her she's going to kill me. If she holds that threat true then what choice do I have?"

"Don't plan to, don't much care really." He sighed again, "It's a relief? I don't have to feel guilty about anything, she doesn't remember it. On the other hand I lost the one good thing I had happening all together."

Jordan nodded and closed his eyes. "At least it's something definite, right? Having it just hanging over you, not sure one way or the other, sucks a whole lot."

"Sometimes we're just as much the monsters." Jordan didn't open his eyes. His tone stayed quiet and serious. "It's all relative. Having Ferros in my head has taught me that they're people as much as we are. It's the criminals and the crazies that we're after. That we should be after, anyway."
