"It's a gift! I've had it for like... a week or something. I already asked all around to see if it belonged to someone, but the techs said I could just keep it, because they hadn't found anyone. I'm not going to wear it... purple's not really my color, but... If you want it, you can have it! A gift! From me!"

Foxx beamed, and nudged the trinket closer to Bhaskar with his fingers, before he grabbed his mechanical pencil again, suddenly grabbed by inspiration. With a few strokes of the pencil, he added the necklace to the drawing he was doing of Bhaskar as a four-legged dragon. His eyes sparkled a bit as he looked at the drawing, and he turned it around to face the other.

"See? It belongs with you. Even on your four-legged form, it looks good." He closed his eyes and giggled a bit. "You look regal!"

The server came back with their drinks, and set down a water for Bhaskar, one for Foxx, and another glass, chocolate milk. He was polite enough, but it was clear he didn't usually do this sort of thing.
"A gentleman at the bar would like to give you this chocolate milk, with as many refills as you like, young sir. Please enjoy."

Foxx turned around to look where the server was pointing, and saw one of the nicer techs from the Dreamery sitting at the bar, waving at the both of them. He waved back happily, as the man went back to eating his own meal.

"That was really nice! They're not that nice, usually, unless they're trying to get me to take my medicine."

That was about all the nudging and reassurances he needed. Bhaskar soon reached over and took the necklace and tucked it away into a pant pocket with a small happy sound exiting his throat as his eyes flicked down toward the picture, "Yes, I look quite magnificent if I do say so," he agreed with a toothy grin.

Bhaskar was obviously pleased with the artwork and then when the drinks came he simply took his water and then gazed over where the chocolate milk apparently came from with some interest before he just shrugged it off and offered a nod, "Do you often need such coaxing for medications? Are they unpleasant?"

He supposed there was nothing wrong with a tech enjoying a particular manifest, some did form such attachments.

"They're big..." He sighed, and took the pill bottles out of his bag, unaware there was a social taboo about that sort of thing. They were definitely large pills. One was definitely a heart pill of some sort as it said [For Cardiac Treatment], and was smaller. The other had fewer pills in it, and didn't have an 'indications' panel on it. However, the medication-type, if Bhaskar had ever looked up such a thing - seemed to suggest the medication was more for Foxx's mind. Of course, instead of calling the meds by their proper names, he simply had 'nicknames' for both of them.

"These..." he said, pointing to the smaller pills "..I'm supposed to take them for like.. if I get out of breath or dizzy or whatever. But sometimes I forget, or just don't, because they taste like acid-stuff." He stuck out his tongue in the attitude of a child being forced to take a bitter syrup. Afterward, he pointed to the other pills. "These are my.. erm... 'normalizing' pills. I've got something wrong with my head, and this is kinda supposed to help. This is the one I have to take with food. It's big, see?"

He dumped out one of the yellow-white pills, and showed it to Bhaskar. It was pretty sizable, about the length of half a human thumb, and only slightly less bigger around. Once he was sure Bhaskar had seen both, he put the large pill back in the container, capped both bottles, and shoved them back into the backpack.

"Sometimes the techs use like.. tricks. 'Cause sometimes I get meds that aren't pills, and they have to be given in a shot, and I hate those. So they give me treats after." He shrugged. "I don't like it much, but what you gonna do? I've gotta take them."

Bhaskar was, indeed, not any sort of an expert on any of these things but he was attentive to the reasons for the medications as given by Foxx. There was a simple acceptance of all of this. It was part of Foxx, his day-to-day trials that he had to live by and survive. In a strange sort of way there was a respect for that.

"Bad tasting or big, you should do as you should and take your medications. It is hard for us to talk together if you are unwell to do so." He said simply. The words were sincere despite the indifference they might otherwise indicate.

The youth just shrugged his shoulders, "I am not plagued with such things so I suppose I take my well-being for granted. I am sorry you must live through such things, but if I can help I will try my best. I am not ... the warmest of friends at times and I am often lost when it comes to certain things but I will try."

"I've never had any friends before." Foxx mused lightly. "I don't..." He looked to the side, and sipped his chocolate milk to avoid having to finish that thought so quickly. After a long sip, he sighed, and restarted. "I don't... know... I mean, I've never... done this... friend.. thing before. I like people. I like being around people, but..."

He reached up, and smiled sheepishly. "I've never met anyone else other than techs, so I guess I... need some practice. I probably won't be... the best at this whole thing, either, but..."

He bit his lip, and held up his sketchbook. "I can draw stuff for you? I guess that's one of the things I can do? And... umm... I guess... I need to learn. 'Cause... I kinda like.. having a friend. It's nice."

Another reach for the chocolate milk. His heart was pounding, and he was pretty sure he just stepped into 'people never say that sort of thing' territory... but it just felt right to say at the time, and if he just lost a friend by in so many words CALLING them friends, then... Well, maybe he deserved it for saying something like that.

It seemed like taboos concerning medication and 'things you shouldn't say to someone' are things that didn't cross Bhaskar's mind in terms of conversation. Most all things were fair game as far as he was concerned. If these were things that were on Foxx's heart and mind? Then let them come out.

If things were concerning his new friend? Then that was just something that happened. Simple, non-judgmental acceptance. That is what Bhaskar was apparently good at.

He tilted his head a little and then smiled, "That is fair enough. You will make more friends and you will find happiness in them. That is how we shall learn about friendship is by making other friends, yes?" Bhaskar said with simple confidence as he finally reached and took a drink of his own water.

Foxx ran out of chocolate milk, and another one was brought... along with their food. It looked delicious. Nachos piled high with ingredients, and lots and lots of cheese sauce. Bhaskar's fare was equally as delicious - large enchiladas ladled with spicy sauce, meat, and a sprinkle of just the right amount of cheese. There was a heft side of sour cream and guac for both of them, and Foxx took a moment to make sure his friend was properly served, before he started munching away on his nachos, being sure to stop eating and swallow whenever he started to talk.

"There are an awful lot of us, aren't there?" he asked, nibbling on a chip in-between sentences. "Kids from the Dreamery, I mean. I see a lot of kids and teenagers in and out of the buildings all the time, but... I get too shy to talk to them.."

He paused here, and took a drink of milk, then some water - just to drink it, because it WAS cold, and the server had been nice enough to get it for them. "And sometimes they run away from me... Or I guess they don't, maybe - maybe they just don't see me and walk the way they were going, but... I've been watching a lot of them, and.. I guess I get a little lonely. What about you? I mean.. do you... say hi?"

Food arrived and Bhaskar was possibly just as enthused about the food as he had been about the necklace from earlier. Once everything was set before them he started to eat his enchiladas. he was listening to Foxx as he talked of loneliness and other Manifests that were about.

Bhaskar couldn't recall feeling lonely ever. He felt content around others. Content on his own. He didn't usually need the Techs for anything specific either. They gave him things if he needed them and couldn't get them on his own otherwise but for the most part? He was happy to do and discover on his own. It is what he needed.

"I get talked to more than I talk to them, if they notice me. Sometimes that is how my days go." There was a brief pause as he watched Foxx drink his milk and water. He remembered what he was supposed to remind Foxx about just then, "Now that food is here take your medication. Do not forget."

"Oh! Right!" He dived for his backpack, and took out both pill-bottles, emptying one of each onto his hand. "Thanks!" He took a deep breath and steeled himself - it was in his eyes. A large gulp of milk helped him get both pills down, but he did shudder. It must have either been uncomfortable, or tasted awful. Or both. He rubbed his eyes, as they'd slightly teared up from the medication, and went back to eating his nachos. Only, he was slower about it now, taking his time and enjoying each bite. Even licking his lips a bit between bites occasionally. He also continued the conversation.

"So.. umm... After we eat.. Do you think... You'd want to see my room? I mean, I've never showed anyone my room before - the techs say it's not good manners to invite people over, and... Oh... that's what I just did, isn't it?"

His ears literally went down, flattening against his head a bit. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't... ask you that after we've just become friends. It's.. um... some of the techs said it's rude. I'm sorry!"

Bhaskar didn't watch or gawk at Foxx as he took the medication. It was uncomfortable he was sure of that much. He wouldn't want such a thing for himself.

There was a small tilt of his head and then he shifted his shoulders, "I am not offended by the offer, but perhaps another time? I do have some things I need to take care of today," he said apologetically with a bit of a grin.

"We can arrange another meeting at least. I just have other things I must do. Otherwise I might have come over for a small while after we finished eating." He said with a small shrug. Alas, errands don't run themselves.

"Well... do you think... I could come with you? On your errands, I mean. I don't particularly have anything special to do today, and I'd like to help if I can. Like... carrying stuff or something."

He smiled across at Bhaskar, and nibbled on another chip. The boy was starting to normal out, to actually act his age. Still a bit young, but it was much better than the random mile-a-minute talking and giggling he had been doing - even if that was amusing.

"Erm, so.. if you need help, I can always help." he said, reaching over to the sketchpad, and making a couple more strokes on the drawing. It already looked good, but apparently Foxx thought it could look better. "If I can't, it's okay - but I want to give you this drawing anyway... if I can." Another smile, this time not directly at Bhaskar, as he was finishing up the drawing. He'd even stopped eating to get this just right.

"I think.. you look good like this. I'm not too good. I mean, not good enough to get it JUST right, like what I see in my head, but..."

He tore the picture out of the notebook carefully, following the perforated edges so the paper was perfectly square with no extra bits of paper or anything. When he was finished, he presented it to Bhaskar. "Do you... like it?"

He was simply enjoying his food as well as mentally going over his list of errands for a second or two. There was not a whole lot he needed to do to be honest and then directly afterward he wanted to take a nap. After a second or two he shook his head, "Not on this set of errands, Foxx. There are not that many of them and I had been hoping to take a bit of a rest afterward. Not that your company is taxing on me," he offered a smile. "It is a dragon thing, I suppose? Spurts of energy, long naps." He gave a small amused snort.

"I promise you, I will visit you someday and the if I have some interesting errands? You may join me a while." He said simply.

The picture was now offered to him he beamed happily, "Yes. It is rather nice. I ... ahh.. I am not certain what my form looks like, but that is a wonderful imagining of it."

"I think... I might try and draw more dragon things. Maybe more four-legged things. I'm not really good at it yet. But... when I draw you again, I'll make you look so much more royal and regal! Because... I think you should look like that. Especially with a lot of gems around you and maybe some nice hills in the background."

He was finishing up his nachos now, and still had another full glass of chocolate milk to finish, but was mostly done eating. "You know... umm... Thanks. For spending some time with me. I enjoyed it."

Closing his eyes, he beamed at Bhaskar. "And yeah, we need to hang out some more. Umm..." He bit his lip and thought for a moment.

"Hey, do you know if someone is throwing a Halloween party? Wouldn't that be neat to go to? Maybe we could meet up there, if they're throwing one. If not.. well.. we should throw our own! I've never held a party before, but... it could be fun. I'd need help, though..."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 20, 2013 4:51 am

"This is agreeable to me," He said simply with a grin. It is often said that dragons could be a little vain, or very vain depending on who you spoke to on the subject.

He was starting to finish up his food and drink, Bhaskar just stopped long enough to utter a short laugh, "Then I should thank you as well. It was a good time."

The idea of a party was met with a bit of a uncertain expression, "I do not know if there are any parties in the works but it is a thing to ask around for, I suppose. Ask around and we shall hopefully be in contact again to make plans for certain."

Foxx nodded, and smiled at his new friend, finishing up his milk, and getting out his card in a slim little wallet with no cash in it. A card probably issued by the techs. He set it on the table to wait until the server came and took it.

"Alright! We'll definitely see each other again, and make some longer plans, right? I'd like to spend some more time together soonish."

He pulled his backpack into his lap, and wrapped his arms around it, before putting his sketchbook into it, along with his pencil, and zipping it up. He'd put his card and wallet back into it when the server was done accepting the payment.

"Um.. I know it sounds silly to say, but... be safe, okay? Like, don't... get hurt or anything. I think that'd make me sad, and it wouldn't be fun for you, so just... be careful, alright?"
