Paris laughed lightly over Mel's story involving Chris. “Yeah, I'll tell him. Might tease him about it a little bit, too, to be honest.”

Then again, Chris was an easy guy to tease.

She felt a bit flattered to have helped Mel so much with her music, though she didn't think she'd done very much herself. Dance was second nature to her. Well... was that entirely accurate? She didn't know that she would call it second, as that implied there was something even greater in her life. She'd been dancing since toddlerhood, since the early years of her life she couldn't even remember. Dancing had come into her life as soon as she could stand, as soon as she could walk. It was her nature.

“Well, with ballet there's the technical aspect and the artistic aspect. The emotion, things like that,” she explained. “I always thought with gymnastics things were more about the technical than the emotional. But, I mean, I can try to help. You've probably got the technical stuff down, yeah? As far as artistry and emotion, that all really comes from inside, corny as that sounds. You've really got to feel that thing you're trying to express, otherwise it's not going to be very believable. So... if you wanted, you could show me the parts of your routine you want to work on and I could follow along and demonstrate how I'd do them, if that'll help...”

Mel nods as she chuckles "It is alot of technical, but I'm adding my own twist just because I am trying something new? This is just for myself, so I'm not to worried." she hope that made sense. Gymnastic was just a way for her to enjoy herself and relax at the moment. She didn't see herself getting back into it as a sport like she did when she was younger "So the emotion in between the technical is what I need." she moves back over to the iPod stand she was using.

Restarting the song back over, it was actually the very song Paris dance to for her. Only it was a couple minutes longer, and ended different then before. Moving back to the spring mat, she stands in the middle before she starts to move, her movement seem stiff at first before she moves into the tumbles. After the tumbles, she stops before she chews on her lip, looking back at Paris.

In true, other then her tumbles...

She really had nothing.

Paris was a patient observer. This was, after all, all about Mel, and if she had certain ideas as to what she was trying to convey, Paris wanted to see her in action before making any corrections or suggestions.

“Have you ever considered taking a few dance classes?” she wondered.

She paused for a moment and realized her question could easily be misconstrued and come across as a critique rather than the general curiosity she'd meant it to be.

“I mean, not that you need to, but just... sort of to cross disciplines, help with conditioning, get a feel for other methods, things like that. I do a lot of yoga and Pilates, and I've done a little bit of gymnastics with the dance team,” she explained.

“Anyway,” Paris waved her comments off and took up a position on the mat. “What're the emotions you want to convey, or the story you want to tell? Those things are sort of key when it comes to ballet. Take Swan Lake, for example. There's sadness in Odette, seduction in Odile, and their movements are choreographed to give the illusion of a swan.”

Paris demonstrated as she spoke, her expressions changing from sadness to seduction, while the way she held her head and the movements of her arms portrayed a very swan-like image, a graceful fluttering of wings.

Mel blushes as she chews on her bottom lip for a moment "I have actually thought about taking some lessons." she just figured she would be very bad at it, so she talked herself out of it. Though, she was now wondering if maybe she shouldn't at least look into it.

She slips both arms behind her back as she thinks for a moment "Well the song, was that one I was working on. So I guess its a love story. Two people who find one another only to be torn apart again." she honestly didn't have a clue as to why she created the song in the first place, but she found she really wanted to see what she could do with it.

She watched Paris, her eyes lighting up at her movement. For a brief second, she actually tried to copy her footwork, only to stop "The emotion would be happiness to sadness. Would they ever find one another again." she gives a brief shrug, as she pretty much ended the song without it ever being told through her song.

"Maybe you can show me a couple moves, and I can try to place them in. If they don't work we can try another move?" she wasn't trying to take up all of Paris time, as she was grateful just for her actually wanting to help out.

“So kinda like Romeo and Juliet then?” Paris wondered. “Only maybe not with all the house divided stuff. But I guess as far as the emotions go that's at least a recognizable basis whether or not anything else is similar.

“As for appropriate moves, there's not really any one or two I could suggest since you can make anything look happy or sad with the right interpretation,” she continued. “I mean, there's your cliché stuff that most people are at least conscious of when it comes to ballet. The pirouette, for example. Taking a dance lesson or two might help at least as far as getting a hang of the basics. Terminology, too. You start with the position of your feet. First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth.”

She demonstrated as she went, from First into Second and from Second into the Third and onward. “Don't stress about touching your heels together or having your feet out completely straight in First, and your Fifth's probably not going to look as clean as mine since my turn-out's better,” she advised.

“Then there's your five arm positions. You start out in First with your arms sort of curved in front of you, kinda like you're awkwardly hugging an invisible person you're not really all that familiar with, only it shouldn't look awkward.”

Here she demonstrated again, shifting from one position to the next with an effortlessness that came from having mastered them long ago. That she hadn't changed from her everyday flats back into her ballet shoes didn't deter her at all.
