Tuck slipped in the mud as he tried to slog his way closer to his girlfriend.
"Shoes? More new leggings?"
He lowered his voice and waggled his eyebrows, knee-deep in mud.

Heidi made an 'eh' sound at both of his suggestions. Shoes weren't a big deal, and while leggings were super cute and she loved them, there was no telling when he would actually be able to get them for her. They weren't good motivators.
His next suggestion worked a little too well. It threw her off and made her loose an arrow way too soon again. "U-um..that...that could work.." She cleared her throat and shook her head as if to calm herself. Shake it off. Shake it off.
"Okay. We'll go with that."

Tuck didn't really notice Bix slip away. He was very intently watching Heidi.
Maybe a little too intently, because he accidentally stepped on her foot while he leaned in for a kiss.

Heidi did notice Bix flee and she blushed even harder. Oh god, she'd tried to stop, she really had. There was an audience oh god what had she done. It wasn't shame just..there had been an audience oh god why.
The kiss surprised her, and she did briefly wince when his boot stepped on her bare foot, but otherwise the kiss was returned either way. "Um, I think we scared off Bix," Heidi whispered, clearing her throat. Giving him one more kiss before jumping back away from her boyfriend to give him a better-aimed arrow.

"You forfeit your reward for winning your last match if you throw this, Tuck," Heidi warned. She was being serious. While she did want to win, she didn't want him to let her win. Heidi refused to accept a victory that was given to her.
It was insulting.
She smiled again. "I'll totally win this on my own~."

Tuck groaned and slogged a few feet away before tripping over something that was in the mud. He went face first into the muck before rolling onto his back so that he could push himself to his feet.
"I ain't lettin' you win, just so we get that straight, okay. I tripped."

It was for Tuck's sake of pride alone that Heidi didn't laugh, she kept a perfect poker face and waited for him to rise to his feet before she shot an arrow at him. Come on, fight back.

Tuck sent Herryk swinging through the air. He was grinning the entire time. Fighting in mud was kind of exhausting, but sparring with Heidi was kind of... exciting.

Tuck squared off and hefted Herryk in his hands, lifting the axe up so that he could bring it down in a hard swing.
"Impossible."
The axe hit, and it was in that moment that Tuck was thankful for Fear shields. They were the only thing that made this remotely tolerable, and more enjoyable than it should be. He wasn't hitting Heidi. He was hitting her shield, and to him, that made a world of difference.
