"I can very well imagine that she is one of the best at what she does. I myself Doctor League however, excelled in every aspect of learning...well, that is...most of them. My test scores were extremely high and I only employ those who are extremely good themselves; so I can assure you, you are extremely safe. And I see that you are a respectable man Doctor League; so I indeed will leave your wife out of this," he said to the man, nodding his head a bit to show his seriousness. It was a shame that the man hadn't any powers, for he may have made a good wizard, but destiny is destiny. He took a sip of wine, looking around the room, taking in what the walls had to show, from picture to picture, art piece to piece...it was a rather, he wouldn't go as far to say luxurious, but high class home.

"I hardly see your cats stopping you from divorcing another. Face it Doctor League, you fell in love with a wizard. There is surely nothing to be ashamed of in that. I had once fell in love with what I believed to be a muggle, but she is gone now. Too bad..." he said to the man, not giving a word more. Calvin's personal life had been his business and his business only. He wouldn't tell the man that the supposed muggle turned out to be a wizard and they married, only to have her die before her time. That would show his weakness and nothing about the event would seep into the conversation. He would not let it.

Sinclair Alfred-Jon League
[Squib and the Disgrace of the League Family]

My greatest fear is not being able to protect my family. I am a Squib. I may be able to provide but how can I protect?

Sinclair raised a brow at Calvin's words in regards to his wife, about his test scores, and also who he employed. What was more interesting was his story or at least what he did divulge. Falling in love with what he believed to be a muggle? Well, it would mean that she wasn't a muggle-so a squib or a witch who didn't divulge about her powers. The last option was less likely as if the woman was pursued by a wizard wouldn't it have made more sense for her to tell that she was a witch? Regardless, it wasn't his concern.

"I'd hate to make my cats unnecessarily upset," Sinclair said with a smirk. "After all I had them before we started even dating. And, it is flattering to anyone's ego to have someone go through the measures she did for us to meet on beneficial terms for her, especially considering she is eight years my junior, and the fact she could have done better, which her family loves to remind me."

He sighed and sat down his, by now empty glass, "Lying about as many things as she did wasn't a good way to start a marriage. I got over it, more or less, but it doesn't matter if I had affection for her at any point or not... I would have divorced her if she had refused to my terms. I'm more of a practical man and I wouldn't have thought to pursue the relationship in the first place, regardless of how charming and how well we did get along, unless I had seen a benefit in it. Her being a witch could easily have crippled my career if my terms weren't agreed upon."

"To be young again," he said with a sigh. "Things were simpler then. Of course, at the time, this bottle of wine-" he nodded to the much cheaper bottle of wine he had poured his glass from "-was the most expensive wine that I would buy and the apartment building I stayed in did have a rodent problem... not that I ever saw any in my actual apartment, but two cats do tend to deter that sort of thing. I suppose you don't care about my reminiscing... Anything further you wish to discuss or anything further I can do for you?"

Calvin listened to the man as he spoke, sounding quite sorry for himself at points, but he would bite his tongue here. He never was one to bite his tongue either, but he needed to keep his client on his side. League could be a valuable asset for him and what Calvin was providing was quite easy for a man of Calvin's power. "Ah...they do not see past the lack of powers my friend. I myself rather look to the degree you received. Rags to Riches, quite a story League. You have made a name for yourself in the Muggle world," Calvin said to the man, praising the achievement the man was able to get to. "I have nothing left to say, but should ask you the same. Do you desire to know anything of what I will do? My methods? Anything? If not, I will be on my way."

Calvin sipped the wine, awaiting to see if the man had anymore questions. His...clients always seemed to have questions about what he did. He never answered them, but the right question could not be left unanswered. If the man's question was good enough, he would answer.

Sinclair Alfred-Jon League
[Squib and the Disgrace of the League Family]

My greatest fear is not being able to protect my family. I am a Squib. I may be able to provide but how can I protect?

Sinclair let out a laugh, "It was hardly a rags to riches story. My family did provide the finances to send me to a rather expensive boarding school and offered to provide living costs to me. It was more of my own pride that cut that provision off as early as I did and the fact I wasn't particularly interested in being held up as a pawn for the League family's benefit."

Closing his eyes he considered the offer made by the man of wanting to know details of his methods or anything else. After brief consideration he said, "A more definitive outline of the frequency and type of surgical procedures would be useful. I will need to know what tools I will need to furnish an extra location with and if I will ever need to involve a second surgeon ever. All, I have already calculated into the cost of the agreement and the fact that you will not be disclosing any information about my wife and my second child since she inherited more than my hair color."

His dark eyes narrowed at Calvin. He was fairly confident the man was not the type to miss the reference. Cathy, his daughter, would have mentioned something out of place-like the usual childhood magical incidents most wizards seemed to have-or it would seem. "And, if my involvement will be more of an emergency on-call sort of system, I did not calculate that into the agreement. It is harder to concoct necessary cover stories on very short notice," Sinclair added.

"Ah yes, everyone must have a little financial help once in awhile. But you have developed without their help because quite frankly, your family were very good at magic, but relations with Muggles...? Not so much. So as far as I'm concerned, and in the eyes of many, rags to riches is the only way to describe the situation," he said to the man, taking yet again another sip of wine, but he had yet drank nearly enough to impair him in any way. He always monitored that because he couldn't let himself become intoxicated...ever. He had too much to do around the British Isles.

"The most frequent type of surgery that would come up would have to be facial reconstruction. That is really in. I do not see many others ever showing up. Along with the facial reconstruction I will need you to attempt to reconstruct the person's fingerprint. That would be all. I doubt you would need a second surgeon, And I will not be as...inconsiderate as most would. I will give you a 48 hour period. You pick the times and reach out to my client with the address to meet you. Two days surely is long enough for a man as punctual as you I assume," he said to the man, finishing what he had to say. He awaited a reaction to it of whether or not he still wanted to go through with it. This man could prove to be extremely valuable to many in the long run. What he was doing, despite him not knowing, was a very good thing for many people in danger.

Sinclair Alfred-Jon League
[Squib and the Disgrace of the League Family]

My greatest fear is not being able to protect my family. I am a Squib. I may be able to provide but how can I protect?

Sinclair raised a brow and said, "Facial reconstruction... that includes quite a variety of procedures none the less. Then again that is the work that I enjoy most. Fingerprint reconstruction is trickier... I've never performed it and even the most skilled surgeon would leave traces... muggle authorities at the very least tend to look for that sort of thing early on. And, healing times exist... some procedures can take months to fully recover from."

Healing times were perhaps the most frustrating things to him to deal with as a surgeon and squib. While wizards could escape such annoyances in their medical practices as healers or mediwizards, those without magic were forced to wait and let the human body heal in its own time. "My personal cell phone would be the best to contact me on," Sinclair answered, "but some are less comfortable with such technology than others, I understand. And 48 hours would be more than enough time for me to prepare, but I want you to understand now that surgery is an extreme and complicated route. Without the help of someone who can use healing my hands and your clients' hands would be tied to a point. Bandages can be a tip off of work done, and even the simplest of what you ask would require bandaging for at least a week. As a medical professional I prefer to follow up with patients until they are fully healed and I do take the Hippocratic Oath quite seriously."

"It is only professional to be up front about my limitations now and realistic about healing times," Sinclair said. "If your clients are familiar with the muggle world-which many wizards still are woefully lacking understanding of- than the limitations should not be a problem. Complications as serious as death can arise from even the simplest of surgeries regardless of the surgeon's skills... it is impossible to foresee many complications under the best of circumstances. As I said it is only ethical for you to be aware of such circumstances ahead of time. Remember, regardless of what one may consider me, the fact remains I have no more advantage than any other muggle surgeon with the same educational background."

Calvin nodded in agreement, taking in the words Sinclair had told him one by one. He enjoyed what he was hearing and was glad to have the backing of such an esteemed plastic surgeon. "I am well aware of the recovery time Sinclair. If the longevity of the recovery becomes an annoyance, I will take care of it," he said to the man, giving him a confident half smirk that really showed the man's sincerity behind it. He knew what must be done at this point, for drastic times called for drastic measures.

He took a sip of the expensive wine, letting the smooth taste run its course. He was not nearly drunk, not even close. It took quite a bit of alcohol to impede the man's judgement and movement...ever since the death at least. He had been found many nights in his study drinking the memories away, which led to his tolerance increase. He hoped to never return to that point of his life...the darkest parts. He couldn't let the memories of his wife bring him back to the valley, only to have to start climbing to reach the peaks once again. "I will not be contacting you by your personal cell phone. I dislike the idea of being traced and I will not let that happen. So for now, I will give you a cellphone, which has only one cellphone number on it, which is mine. And my clients will be properly placed away from the public during the recovery process," he said to the man, creating plans for all of the situations that Sinclair League had seemed to conjure in his own head. What the man didn't understand was that he had the resources to do quite a lot of things. He could hide away a person for a couple days with almost absolute ease. He could help people escape like it was actually his job.

"I do pray however that a surgeon held highly such as yourself would be able to have their clients escape an early death sentence. I do not plan on my clients dying, nor should you ever consider it a possibility," Calvin said harshly, an extremely serious undertone taking effect. He had hoped that one of the better surgeons in the United Kingdom was more skilled than to let a complication cause their client to die. Calvin was trusting this man's ability; so he had to make sure that this would not happen.

Sinclair Alfred-Jon League
[Squib and the Disgrace of the League Family]

My greatest fear is not being able to protect my family. I am a Squib. I may be able to provide but how can I protect?

Sinclair listened as Calvin explained, the man was prepared and well connected and outfitted in sounded like-both in wizarding and muggle sources. And untraceable cell phone while not impossible to get were a nuisance to get a hold of for a muggle, to know about one for a wizard was surprising. "An untraceable cell phone," Sinclair said, wryly. "Too bad they don't give above Os on the OWLs and NEWTs in Muggle Studies. I would think the knowledge about cellphone trace-ability should count for extra credit."

He let out a sigh and tapped a finger on the counter and said, "I'm actually not that concerned about my surgical skills sending anyone to an early grave. Excess scar tissue formation-which is something the patient's body controls more than I do-would be my greatest concern about my surgical technique and complications. Hardly deadly. And as long as I have enough medical records on the patient there wouldn't be a problem beyond that with the surgery itself-not for me. However, anesthesia is another beast in itself. The death rate for anesthesia is remarkably low-about 5-6 deaths per million , but it isn't something I can control beyond common sense measures as using correct dosing-which can still kill someone unexpectedly." He glanced at Calvin and said, "That's why I can't completely guarantee your clients would survive the procedure. It's a factor I can't control. I mean most surgeons agree that in most surgery it is the anesthesia that is the most dangerous for the patient."

"You figure a guaranteed safe way to put your clients under that eliminates that slim but still existing risk, and I can guarantee that your clients will survive the procedure and the only complications that would occur would be minor and impossible to avoid for any surgeon," He said, before his phone buzzed in his pocket and he pulled it out, checking a text, and said, "Ah, and it looks like Cara will be home in about fifteen minutes or so. I suppose you could stay and I can make an excuse for you here-you look too old to be the sort she would actually recognize from her days at Hogwarts... and while it was possible you may have attended school with one of her siblings, kids tend to ignore siblings who are ten years their junior."

Calvin chuckled upon hearing the man's thoughts on Muggle Studies. It had been a shame that he had not tried to ace that N.E.W.T as well, but he knew it wouldn't matter. "I have...increased contact with the Muggle World. So, I really picked up on certain parts of it," he said to the man, not revealing too much. He had many times worked with the high class families, especially the ones living in his home at this very moment. He had learned the in's and outs of the Muggle World from just keeping an eye out on those people. But the rest of it, came from reading. One had to know what he was getting into and he knew that the Muggle's were extremely technologically advanced. He knew that despite their powers, they could very well find him. Of course, he could just apparate away, but they could catch him off guard. He needed to know how to get around that aspect where the muggle's were exceedingly skilled.

Calvin continued to listen as the man explained himself, hoping to understand every single word of it. As the man began to discuss the main problem, he nodded his head to show that he was listening. "You have made yourself clear Sinclair and I now fully understand the risk that is being taken here. I am glad you can guarantee my clients will survive, really a soothing thing to hear. Surely a successful man's word must be taken seriously," he smiled, but it was short lived.

"I really would like to meet this woman I've heard oh so much about already. And if I recall I do not remember a Cara while I was attending. Trust me, I would've remembered the name," he said to him, completely guaranteeing that aspect of it.

Sinclair Alfred-Jon League
[Squib and the Disgrace of the League Family]

My greatest fear is not being able to protect my family. I am a Squib. I may be able to provide but how can I protect?

"Oh, you would have remembered her... Cara Avery," Dr. League remarked dryly. "Rumor has it she slept her way through every eligible bachelor in her age group in Slytherin and all the purebloods in Gryffindor... oh and in third year she had a fling with a halfblood Gryffindor. I'd say that all would be fairly memorable. Or at least the rumors of it. You may have went to school with some of her older siblings or other family members, which trust me, if you don't remember you are best off not remembering."

Sinclair looked half amused about the rumors about his wife-almost as if they didn't bother him if they were indeed true or that there was a bit more to the story and he didn't bother to indulge in the details- "Anyways, it is up to you to decide on your story. Know, now, that my daughter will be joining you, and she is not informed of the wizarding world, and my nuclear family very much intends to keep it that way for her own protection and happiness. And, I don't want Cara to know what the exact business I will be having with you is. However, you can feel free to inform my wife of your shared magical abilities and interest in muggle studies or not. It is kind of funny, Cara didn't actually score spectacularly in Muggle Studies, either, well most of her classes come to think of it, as according to her cousin I think Cara honestly thought of the library more of a place to snog than study-but she was talented enough to convince a squib that she was a muggle. She's the type to only learn something if it is actually practical to her or she is actually interested in it."

He shrugged, "So, Mr. Albion, what is the story I am telling my wife and daughter about you being here? I am flexible and a reasonable man. And if you plan to stay for dinner, I hope you don't mind traditional Chinese food and re-heated at that. It's Peking duck, steamed dumplings, and white rice... my wife is a terrible cook and that is what Cathy and her tutor made while reviewing. They have a terrible habit of deciding to cook enough food for twelve. Of course, I only hire language tutors for Cathy who will also cook so, I shouldn't really complain. Two birds, one stone, right?"

"That most definitely sounds like an interesting dinner. I have not had Chinese food since I went to Hong Kong a few years ago. Very interesting place that was and very many people...rather densely populated," he admitted to the man, thinking back to his visit in Hong Kong. He had took his son with him, but his son didn't like it as much as Spain. It got to the point where he would pay for long term trips to visit his mother's side family for long periods of time. The boy came back and didn't know a lick of English though, which made him wonder how he was making out at Hogwarts. He was sure he was picking back up on the language.

"Ahh...my story? I suppose the easiest to use would be a friend of the family. I believe she would pick up on the power that I have just from that alone. I suppose I could be client as well for you of course. I could be a very wealthy client. It would fit me and make for an easy portrayal," he told the man. Such a thing would be extremely for him to portray...then again...he could portray almost anything effortlessly. He always found it easy to do so.

Sinclair Alfred-Jon League
[Squib and the Disgrace of the League Family]

My greatest fear is not being able to protect my family. I am a Squib. I may be able to provide but how can I protect?

Sinclair raised a brow at Calvin's casual mention of visiting Hong Kong. Honestly, he had never left England-except the one time to go to Ireland for a very long and awkward honeymoon with Cara where she had finally came clean about being a witch, and maybe a couple visits to Scotland during his marriage to Cara- it wasn't like they couldn't afford it, he just never had a huge desire to leave the country and he wasn't sure if Ireland or Scotland would label him as an international traveler.

He heard footsteps come down the wood stairs as the door opened and Sinclair turned to Calvin as a female voice called from the hall, "Darling". "You were in town and doing a favor for Mrs. Peter Avery, her name is Noémie, they are currently living in France at the moment. Peter is Cara's third brother, he hates me the most, especially after I beat him in five moves in wizard chess, and Cara despises his wife. She won't ask a lot of questions. Just pretend you aren't particularly fond of them and you stopped by because Noémie and Peter were nagging you about it when they found out you were going to be in London, since we skipped out on going to see the family during the holidays," Sinclair decided quickly as he heard his daughter's voice say something along the line of 'Mummy, how was your day?' and something about a guest stopping by. He decided that short script was easy enough for the man to follow, and it would have been rude to say he didn't have the typical look of most of his clients unless he was going to claim a wife or mistress or spoiled daughter, and this story made it so that there was really no worry about the cat being let out of the bag about Calvin being a wizard or why would Sinclair be associating with anyone from the magical community, since he made it a fairly active habit to do so.

"Just remember while I know about your world and my wife is a part of it," Sinclair said, "My daughter is not involved. She knows four languages fluently, so she isn't stupid, keep that in mind."

He opened the door to the kitchen to find his wife leaned down some dressed in designer clothes in a monotone pallet and her brown eyes looked up over the blonde hair of their daughter and she said, "Hello, Darling. Catie mentioned we have a guest? Someone from your work, maybe...? I'm sorry I came home late. Busy day at the office."

Calvin listened to the man speak, taking in the role in which he was given, quickly thinking of a persona he would take up, mainly because his name was pretty well known in the wizard community. He quickly decided, then listened to the rest of what he had to say, hearing the man had beaten a wizard in chess in five moves. "Surely, one day we will sit down a play," he said to the man, giving him a weak smile. Calvin loved chess quite a bit and a partner to play would definitely be interesting.

"I completely understand Sinclair. I will not divulge in even hinting at the possibility of a wizard world. I do fear that one day your wife may slip however. It is hard to hide the abilities you have Sinclair, make sure you keep that in mind," he said to him, completely telling the man the truth. He was not lying either. At times it was hard to not use magic for various little tasks around the house, especially his personal house, despite having a wizard butler to help him, it was a task to clean.

Upon, hearing his wife come in, he smiled at her, giving a soft wave. "Bonjour madame, allow me to introduce myself...my name is Éttiene Lecavalier. And upon leaving for London, I was asked a favor by Noémie and Peter Avery to come here. I said I can not, but z'e would not give up until I said yes," he said to her in an almost flawless french accent. He had mastered many accents in his days, although, he never had quite gotten the eastern European or the Mideast accent down.

Sinclair couldn't hide his slight annoyance at Calvin's words about the possibility of his wife slipping on her abilities. Obviously, the man didn't know Cara. Of course, his irritation slid away to him being frankly impressed by the near flawless French accent Calvin had adopted. Calvin didn't actually have to pretend to be French-though now he was-Sinclair could only pray the man knew enough French to fool his daughter if she said anything. Did Calvin forget when Sinclair mentioned his daughter knew four languages fluently?

Meanwhile Cara sighed and moved to stand on her own, but her husband took her hand and steadied her as she stood. "Darling..." Cara said with a deadly smile at her husband, "Thank-you."

She glanced back at the man, Calvin, who had introduced himself as Éttiene Lecavalier, and crossed her arms and let out a sigh and a more polite smile, "You could have just lied and said you came. It isn't like Noémie is probably bright enough to have caught on anyways. And, Peter, well, he'd only be involved out of family obligation. I would hate to waste your time, Mister Lecavalier."

Cathy stared at her mother who fairly coldly dismissed the guest and there was the fact that her father hadn't seemed too pleased about seeing the man either. It wasn't that her mother was always particularly warm to guests, but usually she was far more polite and the same fell true for her father. And who was Noémie and Peter Avery? Wasn't her mother's maiden name Avery? And, that look her Mum gave her Dad was always one of those 'we'll talk later' that could strike fear into most people type of looks. What were her parent's hiding? Maybe Monsieur Lecavalier could explain who Noémie and Peter Avery were at least.

She turned quickly and bowed her head and said quickly in French with a smile, "Je suis désolé. Votre visite est juste une surprise. Je parie que maman et papa juste eu une longue journée, c'est tout." Still smiling she said brightly, "I am Cathaline, Monsieur Lecavalier, but you can call me Cathy."

Dr. Sinclair League held his breath praying that Calvin was fluent in French or at least could pretend well enough he understood Cathy's French-at least she hadn't said much-though from the little French Sinclair had picked up he was pretty sure Cathy said something about being sorry. It figured Cathy would have picked up her mother's etiquette lessons and it wasn't like she would understand why he or her mother might be unhappy seeing a guest show up at their door.
